Thanks for posting the video with the chapter Kpatch. I like seeing where our Phloe family will be moving. I'm glad there's an opera house nearby. Safety was probably the selling point for Chloe after everything they've been through.

That song, Sunrise Sunset, is so poignant, and quite appropos.
Full disclosure. I was going to have them move to California. There's a naval base in Coronado near San Diego, and it's beautiful there. But then it occurred to me that CentCom would be a more appropriate assignment for Philip because the Marines are among the military branches represented there. And the author knows a bit more about Tampa than San Diego, and you should always write what you know about.

The Kiriakises moved to Florida a month later and learned to love Florida living. Their home overlooked Tampa Bay and was situated in the Sunrise subdivision, a planned housing community exclusive to members of the military, just a short drive to MacDill Air Force Base and Central Command.
Every morning before work, Philip and Chloe walked along the beach at Fiesta Key, which was accessible from the back of the house, and every evening they’d sit on the deck and watch the sunset as a family.
SUNRISE SUBDIVISION, TAMPA BAY, FLORIDA, PHILIP AND CHLOE’S BEDROOM
Philip tiptoed into the bedroom, careful not to wake Chloe. He was holding several dozen roses in a vase. He set the vase on the dresser and took one rose from the bouquet. He climbed onto the bed and tickled Chloe’s nose with the rose. She stirred and smiled without opening her eyes.
Philip: Happy anniversary, beautiful. Chloe opened her eyes and took the flower from Philip. She took in its scent. Chloe: You remembered. Philip: Of course I remembered. Haven’t missed a year yet. Chloe: A fire and ice rose, the first rose you ever gave me. Philip: There’s a few dozen more just like it sitting in that vase over there. Chloe tilted her head so she could see the bouquet. She put her hand on the back of Philip’s neck and pulled him into a kiss. Chloe: Happy anniversary soldier. Have I told you lately that you were worth waiting for? Philip: No regrets? Chloe: Never. You? Philip: Just one. Chloe: Oh? Philip: That it took us so long to get together. Chloe: I think we’ve managed to make up for lost time, don’t you? Philip: I guess we have. Ready for our morning beach walk?
FIESTA KEY BEACH
An outdoor staircase led from the back deck of the Kiriakis house down to the beach. Chloe and Philip made their way down the staircase to the beach. They held hands and leisurely walked along the sand.
Philip: Are you glad we moved? Chloe: Why are asking me that now? Philip: I don’t know. I guess I still think of Salem as home. Chloe: Really? Philip: Our anniversary reminds me that Salem is where we met. It’s where we fell in love, and got married. It’s where our kids were born ... Chloe: Earlier you were asking about regrets. If I have any regrets, it’s the fact that the first few years of our marriage were so tumultuous. But as for leaving Salem? I have no regrets about that. Too much drama. Philip: Ever since we moved away, it’s like there’s no drama at all. Almost like there was a change of writers. Chloe: Well, I wouldn’t say there’s been no drama.

Drama always seems to find them. I really like the new traditions of the morning beach walk and the family enjoying the sunset together.

THE KIRIAKIS HOME, SUNRISE SUBDIVISION, TAMPA BAY
Philip: Ever since we moved away, it’s like there’s no drama at all. Almost like there was a change of writers. Chloe: Well, I wouldn’t say there’s been no drama. Remember what happened with Wesley? Philip: You mean when we ended up telling him the truth? Chloe: That was rough on him.
***Flashback***
Chloe: Poor Wesley. Philip: What’s the matter with him? Chloe: I think he needs one of your father-son talks. Philip: Why? What’s wrong? Chloe: Same thing as last time. Philip: Oh. Poor kid. I’ll go talk to him.
WESLEY’S BEDROOM
Wesley was sitting on the floor in his bedroom watching TV, when Philip entered. He sat down beside his son. Philip: Ouch. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to sit on the floor like this. Those old war wounds are catching up with me. I’m starting to feel like an old man. Philip nudged Wesley with his elbow. Philip: Hey, you were supposed to say “you’re not old, Dad.” Wesley glanced at Philip, then turned his attention back to the TV. Philip: Okay, talk to me, Wes. Your mom said something was going on with you. Tell me. Is it Emma? Wesley: Yeah. Philip: Ah, girl trouble. I remember it well. Being 17 can be hell. Did you two have a fight? Wesley: No. Philip: Then what? Is she ...? Wesley: Is she what? Philip: Is she ... pregnant? Wesley: Dad! Philip: It’s a valid question. You told me the two of you were getting closer and ... Wesley: And you told me to take precautions. Philip: Okay, good. So she’s not pregnant. Wesley: No. It’s her parents. Philip: What about them? Wesley: They want her to stop seeing me. Philip: Why? Wesley: They think I distract her too much and they want her to get into Emory, and she needs good grades. Philip: Her parents sound like idiots. Wesley: She got a B on her last math test. Philip: Smart girl. Wesley: She’s an A student, Dad! They blame me for the B. Philip: I’d be happy to beat up her father if you think that would help. Wesley: He’s a General, Dad. He outranks you. Philip: Oh. Well, I didn’t really want to have to beat him up anyway. Sets a bad precedent. And your mother wouldn’t approve. ... Listen Wes, I know things look bleak right now, but hang in there. If it’s meant to be, you guys will get through this. And it’ll be worth it. Wesley: You’re so lucky. Philip: Me? Wesley: You met Mom in high school and you knew she was “the one” right away. Philip: That’s true. Wesley: I wish me and Emmy had it so easy. Philip: Easy? Are you kidding me? How long have you lived in the same house with us? Wesley: What do you mean? Philip: I mean your mother and me have one of the most complicated romantic histories in the world. Took us years from the time we met to actually be together. Wesley: It did? Philip: We’ve told you the story a number of times. Wesley shrugged. Wesley: Sorry. Short attention span. Philip: I guess I’ll have to tell you again. Wesley: No! Please no. That’s okay Dad. It’s all coming back to me now. Philip sat and thought for a minute. Philip: I think it’s time for you to read our memory books. Wesley: Ugh, more homework? I don’t feel like reading. Is it on DVD? Philip: Be right back.
