By SOD • Posted: Apr 10, 2012 Soap Opera Digest has learned that the cast cuts have begun at DAYS: Matthew Ashford (Jack), Sarah Brown (Madison), Christie Clark (Carrie) and Patrick Muldoon (Austin) have all reportedly been told their characters are leaving Salem, the show confirms. Ashford, Clark and Muldoon returned as part of the big reboot in September, 2011; Brown appeared in October. Insiders report that this will not be the end of the trimming. There has been no official comment from the show as of yet. |

I am sad about Jack and over the moon about Madison. I suspect Jennifer will be on the list shortly or we will see her rekindle her relationship with Daniel. I could take or leave Carrie and Austin, but it does bring to an end the Carafe situation.

But I'm super sad about Carrie. Now I'm finding it hard to care about what happens before she leaves. *Sigh* |

I'm so sad about Jack too. Not the others though. I am just worried that the show is going to tilt toward the Dimeras again. We need more balance.

I don't wish for anyone to lose their job, but if Matthew Ashford is gone than Melissa Reeves should be gone to. It makes no sense to keep her character around without Jack.

I also think Lisa Rina and Camila Banus should be next they add nothing to the show.

With Madison now gone I wonder who will be Brady's new love interest. There is really no one for him unless they bring back Nadia for him. I really hope Eric Martsolf isn't next to get fired.

A part of me is sad about Christie Clark just because I would have like to see what it would have been like for Rafe and Carrie to get together and their chemistry. Missed opportunity.

I agree and I think she will be. Lets hope, don't forget it was under Gary Tomlin as Ex. Producer that the whole Dannifer romance started, maybe now that he is head writer he wants to revisit that and that is why Jack is gone. Personally I have no interest in Dannifer Part II. |

I'm not surprised by most of these and I welcome them. Nothing personal toward the actors, their storylines just didn't do much for me. I do like Jack but I don't feel that his character was given much to work with, so if they aren't going to use him as anything other than a prop they may as well let the character leave with a good exit. I am surpised they didn't annouce Jennifer leaving at the same time as Jack. She may be announced later but it does make me wonder.
Madison was the most due. I've heard so much negative response since came to the show. I know Nicole is pregnant w/ EJ's baby but I always loved Bricole so maybe they will finally let this couple happen. I hope so b/c I just can't get into her being with EJ after all that verbal abuse. I just can't,
Now, I want to start hearing about some characters returning...PHLOE!
