OUTSIDE DiMANSE, THE NEXT MORNING
SAMI: (On the phone) I need to talk to you.
EJ: We’re talking now. What do you want?
SAMI: No, in person. I’m outside right now. Can I come in?
EJ: I’m sort of in the middle of something. Can it wait?
SAMI: No. I need to talk to you now!
EJ: Whatever. Wait until you see the limo leave. Give me about five minutes.
SAMI: Fine.
Sami hangs up and waits in her car. The longer she sits, the angrier she gets.
SAMI: They are gonna pay. They are soooo gonna pay.
Ten minutes later, she sees the limo drive off. Sami goes to the front door and walks in.
EJ: Alright. Make it fast. What do you want?
SAMI: Rafe knows.
EJ: (Distracted) Rafe knows what?
SAMI: That we slept together.
EJ: (Angry now) You told him?!?
SAMI: No!
EJ: Then how?
SAMI: Will.
EJ: William?? That little…..
SAMI: It’s not his fault. And that part doesn’t even matter. What matters is, apparently, my husband and my sister have had a little thing going on the side and I want to punish them both. I need your help for that.
EJ: You do know your sister is in a coma right now.
SAMI: Yes.
EJ: That’s not punishment enough?
SAMI: No! The bitch might live.
EJ: Ok, you have seriously gone off the deep end. That’s your sister! And what do you want me to do about it anyway?
SAMI: I want you to help me get rid of Rafe and Carrie. It should look like they ran off together, or something, but I don’t want them to ever see each other again.
EJ: (Sighs) Samantha, I am done playing your little games. I may have done some awful things in the past, but I’m not that man anymore.
SAMI: Gimme a break.
EJ: I’m completely serious.
SAMI: Well, what’s gonna happen when Nicole finds out? Huh?
EJ: She already knows.
SAMI: You told her?
EJ: Yes.
SAMI: You can’t be serious.
EJ: I confessed my sins and she forgave me.
SAMI: I don’t believe this.
EJ: Believe it, Samantha. I can’t help you anymore. I won’t do your dirty work. Now, I’d like you to leave please.
SAMI: Fine! (Storms out) This isn’t over.

Ok DD. What's really going on with EJ? I don't believe that this evil soul has an ounce of kindness in him. If there was, he used it up when he stopped to help Carrie - I sill think there was an ulterior motive there.

THE LOFT
Sami storms into the loft, having just left EJ at DiManse. She is furious that he refuses to help her get revenge on Rafe and Carrie. She dials a long number on her phone.
SAMI: (Tries to relax) Hey.
MALE VOICE: Well, hello there. It’s been a long time.
SAMI: I know. I’m sorry.
MALE VOICE: It’s ok. I figured you’d be calling soon.
SAMI: I need your help.
MALE VOICE: You do? Why am I not surprised?
SAMI: Oh, shut it.
MALE VOICE: Sami, if you want my help you’re gonna have to ask nicely.
SAMI: (Sighs) Fine. Lucas Desmond Horton, will you please come to Salem and help me?
LUCAS: There. Was that so hard?
SAMI: Jerk.
LUCAS: Jerk? That wounds me to the very core.
SAMI: Does that mean you’re coming or not?
LUCAS: I’ll do what I can. Let me make some calls.
There’s a knock on the door.
SAMI: Fine. I’ll see you soon .
She hangs up as she walks to the door. She opens the door to see Lucas standing there holding his cell phone.
LUCAS: I made some calls.
SAMI: (Throws her arms around him) Oh Lucas!
Sami immediately starts sobbing. Unable to maintain the tenuous control she had over her emotions, she lets it all go. Soon she is crying so hard she is shaking. Lucas leads her to the couch and gently gets her to sit down.
LUCAS: You really did it this time didn’t you?
SAMI: (Sniffs, wipes eyes) I really did. I saw Carrie kissing Rafe and I lost my mind. I mean, I really lost it. I put a nail under Carrie’s tire, which caused her to wreck, and now she’s in a coma. I even confessed at the hospital that I caused the wreck. Now, I might go to jail and… and… it just feels like my life has broken into a thousand little pieces. (Straightens) But I need your help to put all the pieces back together.
LUCAS: First of all, I doubt you’ll go to prison.
SAMI: Why? I’m pretty sure I’m guilty.
LUCAS: Any good attorney would be able to say she could have picked up that nail anywhere. Plus, with your dad being the Police Commissioner, I’m sure you’d get some help there too.
SAMI: Well, thanks, that makes me feel a little better. But I still need your help.
LUCAS: Why?
SAMI: Because I can’t do it alone. Plus, it would look too suspicious.
LUCAS: What do you mean by “it?” And why do you my involvement wouldn’t be suspicious?
SAMI: You have all the big bucks. You can hide it better.
LUCAS: What do you want to do?
SAMI: I need you to help me get Rafe and Carrie out of town. They need to disappear – to different places – and you are the only one with the money to be able to make that happen.
LUCAS: Why are you doing this to them?
SAMI: Because they betrayed me. And Carrie has done it for the last time.
LUCAS: (Sighs, rolls his eyes) Sami, Sami, Sami. When will you never learn?
SAMI: Excuse me?!
LUCAS: Why are you so eager to get rid of them?
SAMI: Because Rafe and Carrie have been sneaking around behind my back for months and I’m sick of it!
LUCAS: I’m not defending their actions, believe me, I know how much betrayal can sting. But you have to let it go.
SAMI: You can’t be serious.
LUCAS: Sami, if you tried to “get rid” of everyone in Salem that ever wronged you, there wouldn’t be anyone left.
SAMI: (Chuckles) That’s probably true.
LUCAS: Plus, didn’t you sleep with EJ while you were married to Rafe?
SAMI: (Shocked) How did you know about that?
LUCAS: Will and Allie called me yesterday and Will told me everything. That’s the real reason I’m here. I knew you’d try to do something drastic, so I hopped on the earliest plane out of Hong Kong and raced here. I had a feeling I might be the only one who could stop you from completely ruining your life.
SAMI: You came just for me?
LUCAS: Of course. I love you, Sami.
SAMI: You do?
LUCAS: I’ve always loved you. God help me, I always will.
SAMI: But I’ve been awful to you.
LUCAS: I know. And maybe I’m just asking for trouble, but you’re the best kind of trouble.
SAMI: (Blushes) You sure know the way to my heart.
LUCAS: I always have.
He kisses her with such intensity that it literally takes her breath away. In a flash, all the hate and anger leaves her. She no longer cares about Rafe and Carrie. “Let them have each other,” she thinks. Lucas has always been the only one she really wanted anyway. And here he is, coming all the way from Hong Kong - and at the drop of a hat no less - just for her. Here is the man that she truly belongs with.
SAMI: Hmmm. Let’s go break a bed.
LUCAS: (Scoops her up in his arms) You read my mind.
