Our story continues four months later. Carrie is just starting to show. Rafe still doesn’t know about Sami’s affair, but has become more and more unhappy with his marriage. Seeing no way out, he has resigned himself to a miserable life. Sensing his misery, Sami is growing more nervous by the day. Will has become more agitated.

RAFE AND SAMI’S LOFT, MORNING

SAMI: (Calls out sweetly) Breakfast! Come and get it!
Johnny, Allie and Sydney come running into the kitchen.
JOHNNY: Ooooh! Pancakes! Thanks Mommy.
SYDNEY: Thankth Mommy.
SAMI: You’re welcome sweetie. But eat up. We’ve got to get you guys to school.
Will saunters in. He leans against the counter sipping a cup of coffee.
SAMI: Here honey. Have some pancakes.
WILL: Uh, no. I am not interested in anything you make.
SAMI: (Shocked) I’m sorry?
WILL: Yeah, you are. (Turns to kids, speaks happily) Alrighty! You guys ready to go?
ALLIE: Almost. Gimme 5 minutes. Ok?
WILL: You got it sweet cheeks! (Allie giggles)
Sami pulls Will by the elbow over to the opposite side of the living room.
SAMI: What is going on with you?
WILL: Like you care.
Rafe walks in.
RAFE: (Sternly) Will! Why are you speaking to your mother like that?
WILL: (Turns to Rafe) You just don’t get it, do you?
RAFE: Get what?
SAMI: (Nervously) Will, let’s all just settle down, ok?
WILL: No! I will NOT settle down!
Allie notices the scene unfolding and ushers the other kids into the back bedroom.
SAMI: (Lowers her voice) Will. We can talk about this later.
WILL: No. I’m tired of this charade. I’ve had it with your lies, Mother. Rafe deserves to know the truth.
SAMI: (Pales, whispers) No. Please.
RAFE: (Confused) What is going on here? What truth? Will, what are you talking about?
WILL: (With tears in his eyes) She slept with EJ! (Crying now) That night Johnny was missing, and we couldn’t find her, I went to the DiMera’s to see if Johnny had gone there. I saw them having sex on the couch! (Turns to Sami, shouts angrily) You destroyed our family! And for what? Sex? (Laughs bitterly) Rafe, I love you almost as much as I love my own father. You deserve so much more than this..this..whore.
Sami slaps him. Rafe stands silently.
SAMI: That’s enough.
WILL: You’re right, Mommy dearest. I’ve said what I’ve wanted to say for months. I’m outta here.
Will grabs his coat and leaves.
Sami turns to Rafe.
SAMI: I can explain.
Rafe stands silently.
SAMI: Please, let me explain. (Touches his arm)
RAFE: Don’t you touch me. There is nothing you can say that would make this ok. (Looks around) I have to get out of here.
SAMI: No, please don’t leave. (Calls after him) Rafe, please! (Sobs) Please don’t leave.
She collapses into a heap on the floor, sobbing.
ALLIE: Mommy?
Sami looks over at her and tries to bring herself under control.
SAMI: (Wiping her eyes) Honey. It’s ok. Mommy’s ok.
ALLIE: Why are you crying?
SAMI: I made Rafe sad and I’m sad that I made him sad.
ALLIE: That’s a lot of sad.
SAMI: (Chuckles) Yes. Yes it is. (Takes a big breath) OK. We’ve got to get you guys to school. You ready?

CHEZ ROUGE

MARLENA: Carrie! I’m so glad we could have lunch together today.
CARRIE: Me too, Marlena. It’s always nice to see you. How’s John?
MARLENA: Oh, he had to go to Alamania to deal with this stupid thing Stefano did. It’s so silly I won’t even waste another breath talking about it. But what about you, honey? Have you talked to Austin lately?
CARRIE: (Looks down) Well, we only really talk through the lawyers now. The divorce is moving along and should be final by the end of the month.
MARLENA: How do you feel about it?
CARRIE: Austin and I were having problems for so long that I’m honestly just glad it will be over soon. I…well, I’ve been meaning to talk to you for a while, but I didn’t really know how to say it.
MARLENA: (Sips wine) What is it honey?
CARRIE: (Takes a big gulp of water) I..well…I…I’m pregnant.
MARLENA: Oh honey, that’s fantastic news!! Congratulations!!
CARRIE: Well, the news isn’t as fantastic as you’d think.
MARLENA: Because of Austin? Well, when he hears that you’re having his baby I’m sure he’ll be happy. And even if you aren’t married to him, I have a feeling he’ll still be a good father. Your sister certainly has experience with the men in that family and…
CARRIE: (Cuts her off) It isn’t Austin’s baby.
MARLENA: (Taken aback) What?
CARRIE: (Softly) It isn’t Austin’s baby. It’s Rafe’s.
MARLENA: Rafe’s? As in your sister’s husband, Rafe?
CARRIE: Yes, that Rafe.
MARLENA: You’ve gotta be kidding me.
CARRIE: I wish I was. I feel terrible.
MARLENA: Does Sami know?
CARRIE: Of course not. I made Rafe promise that he’d never say anything. I didn’t start showing till now anyway, and I figured I could just say it was Austin’s and everyone would believe me. But I can’t lie to you. (Her eyes start to tear up) I don’t know what to do.
MARLENA: What do you want to do?
CARRIE: (Sadly) I don’t know.

Can't wait. Also can't wait to see if Rafe and Carrie get together now that he FINALLY knows the truth about Sami & EJ. He makes such a good dad to the kids that aren't even his, can't wait to see him with a child of his own!! Great start and am truly looking forward to reading more of their story!!

I'm torn on Marlena not flying off the hook at Carrie. Had it been Sami, Marlena would have reamed her a new one upon hearing that news.
