I like how blunt Jennifer was with JJ about his relationship with Gabi. While the On again off again may be a little exaggerated, she was right about Gabi's job being more important. Things may have changed, but Jennifer's feelings are due to what she has seen and what JJ has told her. If JJ hasn't been around or talked to his mom otherwise, she's not going to know about the good things or the come to Jesus talks they have had. I can relate because I'm kind of in the same boat with my oldest. Granted I'm not pushing him into marriage by any means. All the red flags I see, I just hope I'm wrong or he wakes up and sees them himself...but I definitely see where Jennifer is coming from here.

I agree with Jennifer. It's too soon and it wasn't that long ago that Gabi was taking JJ for granted and putting her career way ahead of him.
Jennifer is okd-fashiined and doesn't believe in living together outside of marriage, but her way of putting it won't get JJ to listen at all.

Chapter 501b
“If you love her so much, why not get married instead of just shacking up?” Jennifer asked JJ.
“What is this? Reverse psychology?” he mused. “Look. Maybe we will get married one day. Meantime, this is a good test of our relationship, a way to find out if we can live together long-term.”
“In my day, we did it the other way around. We got married and that’s how we figured things out.”
“Which is why the divorce rate was so high in your day,” JJ shot back. “My generation is smarter than yours was.”
“Excuse me?”
JJ’s temper was rising. He didn’t appreciate having to defend his life choices. “And don’t tell me you and Dad never slept together before you got married. I know for a fact that you and Daniel were sleeping together.”
Jennifer’s jaw dropped and she jumped off the bed. “I’m your mother and you will show me some respect.”
“You’re right.” He forced himself to calm down. “You deserve respect but so do I. And I’d like you to be a little supportive of my relationship with Gabi. She means everything to me and for that reason alone, she should mean something to you.”
Jennifer took a deep breath and sighed. “It’s just hard for me to like anyone who’s hurt my children. I’d feel the same way if Abby was moving in with Justin. I just don’t want you to get hurt anymore.”
“I know. But Mom, I’m a grown man. I can take care of myself and my emotions.”
“Sometimes I forget you’re a grown man.” She looked over at the suitcase and her eyes grew watery. “You’ll visit sometimes?”
“I’m just going to be a few miles away.” He smiled and opened his arms. “And you’ll visit us too, okay?”
Hugging her son tight, she nodded. “Thanks for wanting me to.”

He made a lot of valid points It’s cheaper to just move out if it doesn’t work out than going through a divorce process and it is a good test to see how they do I still think her issue being that Gabi puts her career first is weak There is absolutely nothing wrong with a woman being ambitious A real man in a relationship would support it and vice versa Maybe if Abby had a bit more ambition she wouldn’t be such an airhead with daddy issues Just saying

A momma will hold grudges against anyone who hurts her babies. But just because JJ has feelings for Gabi doesn't mean that Jennifer has to like her, she just has to be civil to her for JJ's sake until Gabi has proven herself. I'm glad they semi-hashed this out. It's better that JJ not rush into a marriage right now.

Glad J.J. stood his ground. I kinda get what Jennifer’s saying, but she’s being overprotective.

JJ moving in with Gabi will be a good test to see how they get along long term. Jenn has a right to her feelings but I agree with mae00 said. She doesn't have to like Gabi but should be civil or JJ"s sake. If their relationship stands the test of time, then maybe Jenn will change her mind.

Chapter 502a
The next morning, Philip was hunched over his desk in the study, researching competitors on his laptop when a voice broke his thoughts.
“I’ve been looking for you for a week,” Belle said as she walked into Philip’s office at the Kiriakis mansion. She plopped herself in a chair across the desk from him.
Philip was stunned by Belle’s intrusion. He wished his new office space at One Titan Place was ready already. “I didn’t know I was so hard to find.”
“Where’ve you been?”
“Took the family on a little road trip to Florida. And then we moved back into the mansion.”
“Family? We?” She cocked a brow. “I heard Chloe left.”
“Okay, so you know more than you’re saying.” Philip leaned back in his chair. He didn’t feel like rehashing, so he gave her the Reader’s Digest version. “She did leave, right before Christmas. So the trip I mentioned was just me and Parker and we had an amazing time.”
“Nice. Have you seen Shawn lately?”
Philip scowled. “No, why? Is he looking for me too?”
“Frankly, I don’t know. See, my spouse left me too.”
“What? Why?”
“He kind of figured out that something happened between us, you and me.”
Philip leaned forward again, clearly upset. “You told him something happened between us? Why would you do that?”
“Chill Philip. I told him you weren’t interested in me. But I was honest. I told him I came onto you, and he had a fit. He asked me if he’d ever be enough for me and I told him he already was, but I guess my actions spoke louder than my words.”
Leaning back in his chair again, Philip exhaled. “I’m really sorry Belle. So, where’d he go?”
“According to his mom, who wouldn’t tell me much, he took a special assignment in Brookville. Indefinitely.” Belle thought for a minute. “So, we’re both unattached. Interesting, don’t you think?”
Philip jiggled his mouse to wake up his laptop screen and give him a chance to think of a response. “Are you still married?”
“Of course,” she answered.
“Me too,” Philip retorted, hoping that would be the end of that line of conversation. He scooped up a pencil and tapped it against the edge of the desk. “So, why you were looking for me all week?"
“Oh right. Actually, I have a proposition for you.”

Yeah, Belle has no interest in saving her marriage. Shawn was always her safety net/fall back plan.
