Yeah. She probably IS making this a bigger deal than it needs to be...but if she doesn’t talk to Philip about it (which can be done without being negative or accusing or whatever), we all know where this is headed.

Chapter 3c
“I’m making a much bigger deal of this than it deserves,” Chloe stated. “I just need to adjust, that’s all.”
“And if you don’t?”
“Then I need to try harder. Get a job or something.”
A long silence fell between them. “Where is Philip anyway?” Brady asked.
“He’s at Coast Guard Preparedness Training.”
“Say what?”
“He’s a reservist in the Coast Guard,” she told him.
“Oh right, I sort of remember him saying something about that when we were here a few weeks ago.
“Right. He’s been a reservist ever since he moved here. Word got out Philip served in the Marines and some high ranking official asked him to join the Coast Guard. Training is twice a month. Meetings are every week. The rest of the time he does day-trading. Stocks and bonds.”
“He gets to be his own boss,” Brady observed. “Not beholden to Victor. That’s what he always wanted.”
“Yes, it is.”
“So, he’s got everything he wants, including you. What’s in it for you?”
“Brady, stop. I have everything I want too. If my son was happier, I’d be on Cloud 9. Now, enough about me. What brings you to Florida?”
“Nicole went to visit her family in Arizona. She wanted them to meet Holly.”
Chloe sighed loudly. “How is Holly?”
“She’s great. She and Nicole are like peas in a pod.”
“That’s good to hear. But why didn’t you go with her?”
“Well, I’m not Fay’s favorite person. And Taylor? Frankly, I can’t stand her. Brandon’s the only one I can halfway tolerate. It seemed like something Nicole would be better off doing without me. So, I came down here.”
“Did you run out of things to do in Salem?” Chloe joked.
“Are you kidding me? I ran out of things to do in Salem 20 years ago.”
“I’m not sure you’ll find much to do down here either. I’d invite you to stay with us, but—”
“No need to explain,” Brady quickly replied. “Besides, I’ve already checked into a hotel on the mainland, Marathon City. There may be no psychologists around here, but there’s no shortage of hotels. It’s paradise, baby,” he laughed.
“Well, I’ll let Philip know you’re in town.”
“We can meet up for dinner.”
“I’d love that,” she said.

To a small degree I feel like Brady is trying to stir things a bit, like he made his point why keep digging, it’s not going to accomplish anything And what’s the story with Fay not liking him and hating Taylor, is this from the actual show or only in your story? I don’t entirely remember if it was on the show why this is

I agree with doolfan4life, it does seem like Brady may have been stirring the pot a little. Either way, Chloe needs to talk to Philip. I’m also not entirely sure I believe his story about not liking Nicole’s family (okay, I can believe Taylor).

I’m still not clear on why Brady is HERE instead of literally anywhere else. He has all kinds of cash at his disposal. If he’s looking for a vacation, he could take off for London, Paris, New York, an African safari, a fishing trip in the mountains...legitimately anyplace else he wanted. He’s got a motive, and I’m not sure it’s a good one.

I think Brady wants Chloe for himself. He made a point of saying that she was too focused on Philip and that she wasn't happy.

Chloe should talk to Philip. They could consider moving to a larger town in the Keys.

Chapter 4a
Chloe rested her cheek on her fist as she sat on a kitchen stool and searched online for a local child therapist. “But is she any good,” Chloe mumbled, exasperated. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt something on the back of her neck. She whirled around to see Philip. Placing her hand on her chest, she blurted, “Philip, oh my god. This is the second time today—.You scared the daylights out of me.”
“Sorry, sweetheart. I just kissed you on the back of your neck. I was under the impression you liked that.” He squinted at her. “What do you mean it was the second time today?”
Avoiding the question, she merely said. “I didn’t hear you come home.”
“I didn’t mean to scare you.” Pointing to her laptop screen, he asked, “What’s going on?”
She glanced at the screen, then back at Philip. “Parker didn’t want me to leave him at school.”
“Again?” He sat down on the stool next to hers. “This is becoming a regular thing.”
“It is, and I don’t know what to do. I was just looking for a child psychologist.” Philip’s brow knit. Changing the subject for a moment, Chloe asked, “How was training?”
“Good.” A wide smile crossed his face.
“You always seem to enjoy your Coast Guard meetings.”
“I do. They treat me with respect, always calling me Lieutenant, like I was still in the Marines. I never got that kind of respect in the corporate world. This may sound crazy because it’s not a career or even a full-time job, but this feels like the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.”
Chloe rose to her feet and put her arms around Philip. “I’m glad you’re finally gettting the respect and sense of accomplishment you deserve.”
Philip kissed Chloe’s forehead as he rubbed her back. “You know, I may know someone who’s a therapist.”
Taking a step back, she said, “Really?”

Chloe might want to give whatever therapist she’s looking up a chance. Just because they’re in a small town doesn’t mean they’re not just as good as one in a city. Wonder who Philip’s talking about.

You know, the school probably has a counselor on staff—or at least the school district would. That might be the best place to start. If Parker needed more services than the school could provide, then they could make a recommendation for local counselors. Chloe NEEDS to talk to Philip...and also let him know about Brady.

I'm glad Chloe is considering therapy for Parker. His pediatrician would be a good place to start. Pediatricians often make referrals to counselors for patients.
She needs to tell Philip about Brady's visit. No more secrets.

just got caught up and Wow. Chloe has done so little growing after everything. Why dodge PHilip's question about 2nd time today? Why not just tell him that Brady is in town? Why not tell him how she's feeling? Brady was right in the things he said to her. I'm not fully buying the lines about Nicole's family, but I'm not sure he's chasing after Chloe either. If Brady is in fact stirring the pot, then Chloe is only helping him along by keeping secrets unnecessarily.

It's good that Philip knows someone who may be able to help Parker.
I'm sure Chloe will tell Philip that Brady is in town. It wasn't the first conversation she wanted to have when Philip walked in the door.
