Thank you Kpatch, its been such a fun journey to this point! You took us through quite a storm with Philip, Chloe, and Parker. My favorite was philip’s struggle with parker at the light house and its impact on philip, raw realistic moment. Cheers to more  |

Epilogue
“Daddy, can we see Cuba from here?” Parker asked.
“Nah. Cuba’s 90 miles away, but you can see the sign that says ’90 miles to Cuba’,” he laughed.
Philip, Chloe and Parker had taken a drive to Key West for the day. Marathon Key, where they lived, was the next to last Key in the Key chain. Key West was the last, the southernmost point in both Florida and the United States.
Some time ago, Philip promised he’d take Parker up to the top of the lighthouse. With no elevator, the Faro Blanco lighthouse in Marathon was impossible for Philip to navigate with his prosthetic. But he never forgot his promise to Parker, so he did some research on nearby lighthouses and lo and behold, the Key West Lighthouse had an elevator.
Philip hoisted Parker in his arms so the boy could get a bird’s eye view of the Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and on the opposite side, the city of Key West.
The U.S. Coast Guard decommissioned the Key West Lighthouse in 1969, since there was no longer a need for a full-time lighthouse keeper due to technological advancements. It was now open to the public as a museum and tourist attraction.
“So,” Philip said to Chloe, “what do you think?”
Chloe put her arms around both her guys and kissed Philip’s lips. “I think it’s perfect.”
“Perfect for what,” Parker wanted to know.
“Our wedding,” Chloe told him. She looked at the leaflet she was holding. “It’s available to rent for up to 90 minutes for private parties. Ooh Philip, look at this. I love the idea of a sunset ceremony up here, especially since our guest list will be small. The three of us, Brady, Nicole, and Holly…”
“And Helen!” Parker blurted.
“Yes, angel, we’ll definitely invite Helen.” Chloe reviewed the price list. “But it’s pretty pricey to rent out and we’re on a budget these days until Sopranos starts turning a profit.”
“Sopranos is ahead of projections,” he said proudly. “Most new venues take a year to become profitable. And don’t worry about the cost. Members of the Coast Guard get a reduced rate,” he reminded her. “Plus I’m entitled to the veteran’s discount, all of which’ll make it way cheaper.” Chloe laughed a little and Philip said, “What?”
“Nothing, it’s just funny to hear a Kiriakis use the word ‘cheaper’.”
“Don’t laugh. You’ll be a Kiriakis soon, and I’d bet money that you’ll still be shopping the shoe sales.”
“Okay, okay, you made your point,” she laughed. “Wanna know why this is the perfect place for our wedding?”
“Tell me.”
“Because it’s the nearest thing to heaven here on earth.”

The lighthouse visit was the perfect end to the story. It fulfilled Philip's promise to Parker. It will be a lovely wedding venue. I'm glad that opening night was a success. Thanks for a great Phloe story Kpatch. |

Thank you, readers, for your readership and comments. I'm so happy you enjoyed Perfect Storm. I had a sequel planned by my attention was distracted by my next story, so I rolled the sequel into this part, albeit in a shorter version. My next story is called The Rest of Our Lives, and it's a Phloe story and more, much more, with cast of characters you already love. It's a different version of Phloe than the one in Perfect Storm and I hope that won't be confusing. Thank you again! xox |
