I think that 10% is going to come back to bite Chloe. Her instincts said it was a bad idea and she let Brady talk her into it.

I'm glad that Chloe is questioning Brady. I seriously doubt that he wants to remain a part owner because of the great income potential.

Great chapter I really glad Chloe made a deal to buy the club from Brady. I knew something was going on with Brady and Nicole. Why else would he stay in Florida to Help Chloe when his girlfriend Bicole is in Salem? I can’t wait to see the next chapter.

Brady & Chloe are good friends (at least on the show). I wouldn't expect Brady having an ulterior motive unless it was just to help Chloe get her career back.

Brady saw an opportunity so he took it. Makes sense that he doesn't want to completely back out of the his stake in the business. However, I don't like that Nicole has been back for weeks and Brady hasn't said much of anything about it.
Chloe claims to want independence but she's always relied on someone to take care of her. I don't believe that she's being 100% honest about this to anyone with that story.

This. Is. Sketchy.
Why hasn’t Brady mentioned Nicole?
Why hasn’t Nicole contacted Chloe? Or vice versa?
Why didn’t Chloe talk to Philip about this?

Chapter 12a
As soon as Philip got home, he turned the TV to the local weather station. A tropical depression had formed off the coast of Africa and it was moving at 12 miles an hour across the Atlantic. The weather experts at the national hurricane center couldn’t accurately predict the path more than three days out. Even though it was still a long way off, it was all anyone at Coast Guard training could talk about this morning. When you live in Florida—especially in the Southeast part of the state, and especially if you live in the Keys—you pay close attention.
He powered up his Macbook laptop, and grabbed an energy drink while it booted up.
Funny, growing up in Illinois, Philip never gave a minute’s thought to hurricanes, just like he never gave much thought to money. Back when he was rich, he never needed to pay attention to money. But since his father cut off his trust fund and he no longer had an endless supply of funds, he paid attention to every penny.
These days, he kept track of every stock he bought or traded, dividends earned, income from his Coast Guard service, military pension, plus expenses, taxes, contributions to a retirement plan he started, and even the value of his home and car. But the most valuable things in his life didn’t have a dollar sign next to them. Even if he lost everything he’d amassed since leaving Victor’s world, he’d still feel like a rich man as long as he had Chloe and Parker.
He picked up his cell phone.
~~~
Chloe had completed some online forms for Gwen, detailing what she thought were Parker’s issues, and sent them back to Gwen in advance of Parker’s appointment. Sitting in the waiting room now, Chloe tried to appear calm for Parker’s sake, but she was really nervous. Like really nervous. This was big—her little angel had issues—emotional issues.
She thought back on all the things she could have done better to make Parker feel more secure. Find a way to make her marriage to Daniel work. Not move him around so much. Do a better job of shielding him from her string of temporary relationships, especially the ill-advised relationship she had with Deimos. Maybe she should have tried harder with Lucas, just for the sake of stability. Maybe this new club was a bad idea. Maybe she just should be there for Parker more. She worked to steady her breathing. Second-guessing all her actions wasn’t helping anyone.
The door to Gwen’s office opened. “Chloe? Parker?” The woman smiled at them. “I’m Gwen McMullen.”
For some reason, Chloe was suprised that Gwen was so young and attractive. She never thought to ask Philip what Gwen looked like, not that that was important. Her competency was all that mattered. She stood up and shook Gwen’s hand. “Nice meeting you.” She got the feeling Gwen was giving her the once-over too.
“And this must be Parker.” She leaned forward slightly. “I’ve been looking forward to meeting you, young man.”
“Why?” Parker asked.
“Because Philip has told me so much about you and what a special boy you are. Why don’t you come into my office so we can talk.”
Chloe and Parker started walking into Gwen’s inner office, but Gwen stopped them. “Chloe, why don’t you wait out here?”
“Oh.” Chloe scowled. “Well, I thought this first time, I’d sit in on the session.”
“I understand that you’d want to, but experience tells me that children are more likely to open up if their parent or guardian is not present.”
I remember being a nervous wreck before my oldest's first session.....and every time after. It doesn't get easier because you're so afraid of what they are going to say in there and how that makes you look.
I really hope that Philip doesn't become an issue between Chloe and Gwen....not while Parker is undergoing therapy. It won't help anything.
Hopefully Gwen will be a good therapist, though I suspect she may try to come between Philip and Chloe.
I hope Gwen knows what she's doing and that she keeps it professional rather than using Parker to get info about Philip that she can use to create trouble.
Chloe needs to make an appointment for herself with someone. All that anxiety isn't healthy.
I'm looking forward to hearing about Parker's appointment. I hope Gwen keeps things professional and gets over her interest in Philip.
This may or may not just be nerves on Chloe’s part, but if we’re being honest she could probably use some counseling herself. She’s experienced all of the things she just listed and more. Certainly Gwen wouldn’t be the right solution for lots of reasons but Chloe needs some help, too.
Chapter 12b
Chloe and Parker started walking into Gwen’s inner office, but Gwen stopped them. “Chloe, why don’t you wait out here?”
“Oh. Well, I thought this first time, I’d sit in on the session.”
“I understand that you’d want to, but experience tells me that children are more likely to open up if their parent or guardian is not present.”
Chloe glanced at Parker. “I guess we should have discussed this in advance.” Remembering Parker’s fear of being abandoned or “adopted out” as he put it, Chloe said, “Why don’t we let Parker decide.” She touched Parker’s shoulder and got down to eye level with him. “Angel, Gwen would like to talk to you alone, and that’s fine. But if you want me to go inside with you, I will.”
Parker looked over his shoulder at Gwen. He shrugged. “I guess it’s okay if you wait for me.”
Chloe tried not to look hurt but it felt like her little boy didn’t need her. She kissed his head and reminded herself that all that mattered was whatever was best for him. If his recovery would be faster without her presence, then that was fine with her. “I’ll be here when you’re done.” With a sigh, she watched her child walk into Gwen’s office as the door closed behind him.
After a while, Chloe was distracting herself with the news of the day, her puzzle challenges, and what was hot and trending in entertainment. She was about to put her phone in her purse when it buzzed. It was a text from Philip.
“How’s it going?” he wanted to know. She texted back, “Session is still going on.” He quickly wrote back, “It’ll be okay.” She took a deep breath. “God, I hope you’re right,” she said out loud.
~~~
Philip set his phone down and turned his attention back to his laptop. He studied the Quicken spreadsheet on his computer, line by line by line for hours, trying to determine what he could sell or trade, in order to raise enough cash to buy the club, get Chloe out from under Brady’s thumb, and get Brady out of their lives for good.
All at once, the answer became clear—and it wasn’t something that was even on the spreadsheet at all.
