Poor Philip. Sounds like he may need to see the therapist as well.

That was such a bizarre dream Philip had. Wonder what’s up with that?

This...is a problem. If Philip is experiencing dreams like this on top of the stresses of the day (including this Brady business)...it’s probably only a matter of time before that all comes pouring out.

Philip clearly has not let go of the way things were when he and Chloe were 16, plus is terrified of losing her now. And it doesn't help that he has never really dealt with what happened when he was in Iraq.

Poor Philip that was a terrifying nightmare. He needs to talk through everything that is weighing on him.

Chapter 10a
Philip boarded the USCGC Mohawk Coast Guard cutter.
“Good morning,” he said flatly to Gwen and Bill, two of the reservists who were gathering in the galley for coffee, bagels, and muffins before today’s training began.
“Philip,” Gwen said, her eyes wide. “You look like hell.” She pushed his hair off his forehead.
Annoyed at the comment, Philip squinted at her. He found Gwen to be an interesting character. She was both brilliant and irritating at the same time. She was an expert swimmer, about 35, divorced, medium height, brunette, very thin, very attractive. She was one of those women who was meticulous about her appearance, but, then again, so were most of the women Philip had ever known. Come to think of it, Melanie was the only woman he knew who wasn’t vain.
Gwen looked great in her dive suit, and she knew it. She would walk around after putting it on and ask all the men whether it was too tight, because she wanted them to notice her. Yes, she was a flirt, but he’d learned to write her off as harmless. If he looked beyond the superficial, he could see she was more insecure than conceited. She needed reassurance and the men usually gave her the attention she was seeking.
Looks aside, Gwen was as smart as they come. During classroom training, she was all business. Her answers were spot-on, her analytical skills impressive, and her questions thought-provoking. Originally from the Northeast, her undergraduate degree was from Princeton, she got her PhD in psychology from Columbia and did her internship at the Mayo Clinic. Her credentials were without equal. So, when it became clear that Parker needed to talk to someone, Gwen was the first person Philip thought of.
After reading her bio, Philip asked Gwen how the hell she wound up in Marathon of all places. Gwen answered that her now-ex-husband had a dream of living on the water. Long story short—they split up, he moved back north and she stayed in Florida.
He hoped and prayed she would be the right therapist for Parker’s issues.
“I didn’t have time to shave,” he answered, knowing that Gwen was referring to his disshevelled hair and the dark circles under his eyes from a sleepless night.
“You sure you’re okay?” Gwen asked. Her concern was sincere.
The recurring dream he had last night was wearing him down and making him dread even falling asleep at all. Should he mention it to Gwen? She was a therapist after all.

I think that’s definitely something he should tell his therapist. I’m glad he found one.

I don't think sending Parker to a therapist that Philip seems to have a crush on is a good idea. Nor is his telling her anything about his personal issues.

It's nice to have a little background on Gwen. I hope she's the right therapist for Parker. I'm not sure she's the right one for Philip tho. It's obvious he's a loner and has no one to really talk to to get everything off his chest. He needs a true and loyal friend that he can open up to. Someone that he can just let loose on without the fear of hurting their feelings and them leaving.....a George. He's keeping everything in and this is not going to end well. I think that Philip does need a therapist, but right now, he needs a George more than anything.

Parker is ok to work with her but I don’t think Philip should use her as his, although he does need something or someone. Chloe would have a canary if she saw her flirting like that And I agree with mae00 he could use a George..... or just bring George into the story lol

I’ll put in my vote for a George sighting, of course.
This Gwen chick is awfully familiar with Philip...which makes me antsy. I’m not sure I trust her....

Philip needs a friend to talk to. I don't think Gwen is the friend he needs.

Chapter 10b
“You sure you’re okay?” Gwen asked. Her concern was sincere.
The recurring dream he had last night was wearing him down and making him dread even falling asleep at all. Should he mention it to Gwen? She was a therapist after all.
He remembered Chloe being concerned this morning too.
~~~~ Philip poured himself a second cup of coffee. “Maybe you should go back to bed,” Chloe suggested.
“Can’t. I’ve got Coast Guard training this morning. ”
“Couldn’t you skip it this once?” she asked.
“Not during hurricane season.” He shook his head no emphatically and took another sip of coffee.
“But, I know you didn’t sleep well,” she continued. “That dream again?”
He nodded.
He had told her bits and pieces about the recurring dream but he intentionally left out the part where they all get blown up. It was too disturbing, too horrific to describe aloud. Still, she seemed to know there was more to the dream than he said. She sat down next to him and reached for his hand. Looking at him with concern, she said, “I hate seeing you like this, honey. Do you think maybe you should talk to someone?”
~~~~
“I’m sure,” he replied to Gwen, instead of confiding in her. Changing the subject, he said, “You’re seeing Parker for therapy this afternoon.”
She took her phone out and scrolled to her appointments. “Yes. Three Thirty. Will you be bringing him?”
“No, Chloe will take him.” He hoped therapy would be the answer to the little boy’s angst. “Take good care of him, would you?” His voice cracked a little. “We’re worried about him.”
“People don’t take a child to see a therapist if nothing is wrong.” She patted his hand. “Don’t worry. We’ll work through it.”
He forced a smile, then turned to his other colleague. “Hey Bill, got a minute? I have a question for you.”
