I'm glad Chloe straightened out Parker's fear and that she and Philip are both able to talk honestly about Parker.

Glad that Philip and Chloe are on the same page when it comes to Parker.

I enjoy their conversations. I'm glad that after all of this time Philip still feels like Parker is his son.

Chapter 9c
A short while later, Philip was sleeping llike a baby, but Chloe wasn’t. She’d been having a hard time sleeping lately. She’d fall asleep, then a couple hours later, something would jerk her out of her slumber and she'd be wide awake. Tonight was no different. Between worrying about Parker’s appointment with Gwen, and the sounds of the wind, the ocean, and Philip’s snoring, sleep was becoming a distant hope.
She turned toward Philip and watched his chest rise and fall. Her heart was so filled with love for him, and it saddened her to think that her he could doubt that for even a moment. What more could she do or say to make him believe it?
She knew him well enough to know that he was less than thrilled about the new club, despite putting on a happy face for her sake. She knew deep down that it wasn’t the job that bothered Philip; it was the fact that it put her in Brady’s orbit. Philip was the nicest, kindest, most loving man she’d ever known, but he was like Jekyll and Hyde when he got anywhere near Brady. Even Brady’s name could set him off. It was the only time she thought he took after his father. And she hated seeing any of Victor in Philip.
She felt so lucky to have Philip in her life, that he took her in with open arms and gave his love to her unconditionally. She felt so lucky that he loved Parker so much and filled the void in Parker’s life that was left when Daniel died. She wanted Parker to remember Daniel and know that Daniel was his father. But she never wanted Parker to feel like he was missing out because his father was gone. And with Philip in his life, Parker would never have to.
Philip did so much for her and Parker. So, should she give up the club to appease him, to prove how much she loved him? No, she didn’t think she should have to give up her profession because Philip hated Brady. She reached over and gently stroked Philip’s cheek. “I love you so much, Philip Kiriakis,” she whispered. “And I always will. Please let that be enough.”
As she dropped back onto her pillow, an idea hit her. “That’s it!” she whispered to herself. “It’s perfect. It’s the perfect solution for everyone.”

Wonder what Chloe’s solution is.

His Victor-like side is part of Philip, so if Chloe can't accept that in some ways he's like his father, there's going to be rough times ahead.
I wonder what her idea is.

I wonder what the solution is

Brady is not the only time she sees Victor in Philip. His love for his friends and family is just as strong if not stronger than Victor and Philip fights as ruthlessly as he needs to to defend and protect the ones he loves. She just chooses not to acknowledge those times because those are times that it doesn't go against what she wants. She may not like it, but she's going to have to accept ALL of it if this relationship is going to work.
I'm curious about this "perfect solution"....

I am extraordinarily dubious that Chloe has found a perfect solution to this.

Thanks for reading and your great comments, everyone. It’s always fun to see your reactions.
I am going to speak on Chloe’s behalf for a minute. What you all say about Victor is true, but Chloe hasn’t seen that warm, fuzzy side of him that we’ve seen. Chloe has only encountered the gruff, hateful Victor who hurls unspeakable insults at her, constantly puts Philip down and disowned his own son. So when she says she hates seeing any of Victor in Philip, she is thinking about that Victor—not the Victor the rest of us know and love.
Here’s a little teaser. Coming soon…
Philip isn’t sleeping quite as peacefully as Chloe thinks.
Chloe faces a number of hurdles for the day ahead.

Chapter 9d
Philip was sleeping, but he was not sleeping nearly as peacefully as Chloe thought. His mind was being assaulted by a barrage of unsettling visions.
~~~
Philip and Chloe were at the beach. They were sixteen again, frolicking in the sand without a care in the world. Philip lifted Chloe in the air and felt something tug at the hem of his swim trunks. It was Parker, trying to get his attention. He looked at Chloe and she was no longer sixteen. All at once they were both grown-ups.
They each took hold of one of Parker’s hands and ran through the sand toward the shore. Philip had two good legs and he felt powerful, running like the wind until he was practically flying through the air. The three of them joyfully splashed into the the ocean, giggling.
Out of nowhere, a large ship the size of a cruise liner appeared in the distance. Philip could see the words “Mezzo Soprano” written on the side of the ship. It puzzled Philip because he knew that boat blew up long ago.
Parker began swimming in the direction of the ship, and away from shore. “Parker, wait,” Chloe called to him. She swam toward Parker as he grew farther and farther away. “Chloe! Parker! Don’t go!” Philip called to them, but they didn’t seem to hear him. Philip started swimming as fast as he could to catch up to them.
Without warning, a torpedo came sailing out from the ship’s hull and exploded in the middle of the ocean. “Chloe! Parker!” he shouted. But they were gone from sight. He continued swimming toward the spot where he last saw them, but the ocean swells kept pushing him back.
He was out of breath now, dog-paddling to stay afloat, and desperately trying to keep his head above water so he wouldn’t drown. He felt something nip at his leg. Could it be a shark, he wondered? Before he could give it any more thought, something new exploded in the water, not six feet away from him. Philip looked up and saw a squadron of fighter jets, dropping bomb after bomb.
“Cease your fire,” he screamed at the sky as the bombs rained down. “I’m an ally! Lieutenant Major Philip Kiriakis, Serial Number 16161616, Marine Corps Troop Number 2002.” He could barely hear his own voice above the bomb blasts.
He felt something sting his leg again and suddenly the sea was red with blood. His eyes went wide, and he felt himself going under.
~~~
Then he awoke, shooting up into a sitting position. He was out of breath. His heart was beating like crazy in his chest, his skin felt clammy, and he felt slightly nauseated. He quickly turned his head and saw Chloe lying beside him, sleeping peacefully. He blew some air out of his lips and laid back down on the pillow. He worked at concentrating on his breathing, hoping to bring his heart rate down to normal. “Everything’s fine,” he whispered to himself.
