Chapter 10

SALEM HIGH
By now, the party had moved from Chez Rouge to Salem High. Everyone was in the gymnasium, and a dance had started. Click to listen to the song:
Shawn-D and Belle were dancing.
SHAWN-D: What do you suppose Chloe meant by her comment at Chez Rouge?
BELLE: Which comment?
SHAWN-D: The one about Mr. Woods telling us if he's retired or not.
BELLE: Who knows? Maybe she just meant that, if we ever see him again, we could ask him again and let everybody else who's here know.
Meanwhile, Jan and Tobias were dancing.
JAN: Having fun?
TOBIAS: Yeah. Are you?
JAN: Sort of. It's just kinda weird being here. I was one of the most hated people during high school.
TOBIAS: If you want, we can go.
JAN: No, I'd rather be here. I like this place. It brings back memories. Not all of the pleasant, but some are.
TOBIAS: So, I got a question for you. Do you remember me?
Jan chuckled.
JAN: Of course I remember you, Tobias. I don't have any memory loss or anything, just some weird time distortion.
TOBIAS: No, I mean, do you remember me from before your coma?
JAN: Before my coma? We never met before my coma.
TOBIAS: Well, that makes sense that you wouldn't know me. We barely had anything to do with each other. I was surprised that Shawn didn't recognize me. Then again, it has been a while since we last saw each other.
JAN: What are you talking about?
TOBIAS: There's something I have to tell you. Something important. Come with me.
Tobias and Jan stopped dancing, and Tobias led her to a different part of the school. Meanwhile, Philip and Melanie were dancing.
MELANIE: This place is awesome!
PHILIP: I know! It's a bit bigger than it was when I went here, though.
MELANIE: So, are any of your teachers here?
PHILIP: Nope. I'm kinda surprised, to tell the truth. I thought for sure that Mr. Woods would show up.
MELANIE: What was Mr. Woods like?
PHILIP: He was just a really cool guy. He was nice, most of the time, unless you did something that really ticked him off. I remember this once when he took us to Puerto Rico. That was an interesting trip. Shawn, Belle, Jan, and I kinda got a bit sidetracked from the trip while we were looking for some rubies that belonged to Alice Horton.
MELANIE: So, what happened?
PHILIP: We found them, but Nicole's creepy pedophilic father tried to steal them from us. In the end, though, we got them back.
MELANIE: I remember you mentioning Jan a few times, and I think I met her at some point yesterday during the mixer. You didn't mention her in favorable terms. So, why was she with you, Belle, and Shawn looking for Mrs. Horton's rubies?
Meanwhile, Brady and Chloe were dancing.
BRADY: So, what's the story?
CHLOE: What do you mean?
BRADY: You've been looking towards the door to the gym every few minutes. What's going on? Who did you invite?
CHLOE: You've figured out that I have a special guest, but you don't know who it is?
Chloe smiled.
CHLOE: You'll just have to wait and see.

Talk about a cliffhanger!!! So who is Tobias? Who is the special guest?
AARRGGHHH!!

I have a suspicion as to who the special guest is but I have no idea about Tobias.

Chapter 11

PHILIP: Oh, Jan wasn't helping us find the rubies. She got sidetracked for a very different reason. And that got Shawn even more sidetracked. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say that Paul Mendez, Nicole's father, is even worse than Trent.
MELANIE: Wait, Paul Mendez? He was in Puerto Rico?
PHILIP: Yep.
MELANIE: Ew! I remember him, unfortunately. He was one of Trent's favorite customers. And, he was even creepier than you can imagine!
PHILIP: Wait, are you saying that he's not dead?
MELANIE: He wasn't when Trent would pimp me out to him. Why?
PHILIP: I thought he died. We all did. He got shot in Puerto Rico and the doctors reported him dead. Then again, Lexie's reported people dead on many occasions, and they all came back to life. But, she wasn't even there. Anyway, back to the point.
MELANIE: Well, if the Paul Mendez I'm thinking of is the same Paul Mendez you're thinking of, then he's very much alive.
Meanwhile, Jan and Tobias were still talking.
JAN: Are you serious?
TOBIAS: Completely.
JAN: Are you gonna tell Shawn? I mean, he has to know.
TOBIAS: I'll tell him. Just, not right now. I'll tell him once things have settled down a bit.
JAN: Okay.
TOBIAS: Hey, are you okay? You look a little pale.
JAN: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just thinking.
TOBIAS: About what?
JAN: Just...stuff. Nothing important.
Back with Chloe and Brady...
BRADY: Come on, Chloe. You can tell me.
CHLOE: No, I can't. It's a secret. If I told you, then it wouldn't be a secret anymore.
BRADY: Okay, just give me a hint.
CHLOE: Nope.
BRADY; All right, then. When is this person coming?
CHLOE: Soon. Very soon.
Chloe reached into her purse. She pulled out her phone, which was buzzing.
CHLOE: And, there he is now.
Chloe walked away for a moment. Elsewhere, Mimi and Rex were dancing.
MIMI: It's a bit weird being here, dancing like this.
REX: Why?
MIMI: Well, the last time I danced at high school, I got in trouble for helping Jan Spears pull an extremely cruel prank on Chloe.
REX: Well, that's all over now. You're a different person now.
MIMI: Yeah. You're right.
Rex and Mimi kissed.
Chloe walked up to a microphone on the stage of the gym. The music got cut off.
CHLOE: Can I have everybody's attention please?
Everybody turned to look at Chloe.
CHLOE: Sorry for interrupting the dance, everybody, but I have something important that I need to say. We have with us tonight a very special guest who most of us have not seen for almost ten years. Class of 2002, I am proud to present to you...Mr Woods!

Chapter 12

SALEM HIGH
Mr. Woods walked out from behind a curtain on the stage and stood next to Chloe. The two of them walked off of the stage. Immediately, Mr. Woods was mobbed by his former students.
SHAWN-D: Mr. Woods!
BELLE: Oh my gosh! It is so good to see you!
PHILIP: Hey, man! How's it goin'?
Mr. Woods laughed and put his arms around Chloe and Belle.
MR. WOODS: Hey, guys! It's good to see you! Looks like the whole gang's back. Shawn, Belle, Mimi, Chloe, Philip.
MIMI: Yep, we're all still together.
SHAWN-D: So, what's this I heard about you retiring?
MR. WOODS: Yeah, man. I retired about a year or two ago. I got transferred to Salem West about five years ago, and I retired early last year.
BELLE: I've heard of Salem West. How was it?
MR. WOODS: It was all right. Nowhere near as good as Salem High, though! The kids there are way too different from the kids that go here.
PHILIP: Any plans for the future?
MR. WOODS: Nah, just enjoying being retired now. Man, it is so good to see you guys! You know, of all the classes I've seen come through Salem High, you guys, the Class of 2002, have always been my favorite.
CHLOE: That's really sweet of you, Mr. Woods.
SHAWN-D: Yeah, you taught us a lot of lessons while we were here. Inside and outside of the classroom.
MR. WOODS: Well, I'm glad that those lessons have helped you.
MIMI: Oh, they have. More than you know.
MR. WOODS: That's great! I'm always glad to know that I've been able to teach people lessons that they'll remember, hopefully for the rest of their lives. Now, it's really great to see you guys! But, I've gotta go speak to some other former students of mine. Have fun with your reunion.
CHLOE: Okay. Thanks for coming, Mr. Woods.
MR. WOODS: Well, thanks for inviting me, Chloe. I've missed all you guys over the last ten years.
Mr. Woods hugged Chloe, Belle, and Mimi, and shook hands with Shawn-D and Philip. Then, he went off to go speak to some of his other students.
PHILIP: So, that was your big surprise, Chloe?
CHLOE: One of them. There's still one left to come. Only, this time, it's not so much of who it is, as what it is.

The music got turned up. From across the room, Shawn-D and Belle looked at each other. He pointed at her.
CHLOE: I think he wants you, Belle.
BELLE: Oh, this song. Yeah, I can tell. And, I want him, too.
Belle ran over.
BELLE: Did you have them play this?
SHAWN-D: Did you think I would forget my quest to have them play the first song we danced to? I've been waiting to do this all night. So, wanna dance, Mrs. Brady?
BELLE: I'd love to, Mr. Brady.
So, Shawn-D and Belle started dancing. As were many other couples, including Jan and Tobias.
TOBIAS: So, that was Chloe's big surprise? An old teacher?
JAN: Hey, that old teacher was one of the coolest teachers Salem High has ever had.
TOBIAS: Yeah, he sounded pretty cool from what little I talked to him. Still, it'll be interesting to see what Hope and Shawn think about my suprise.
Meanwhile, Philip and Melanie were also dancing.
MELANIE: I'm really glad we came. It's really cool seeing your old high school.
PHILIP: It's cool for me, too. Being here, seeing all of the old faces. Well...most of the old faces. Some of the others, not so much. But, that happens.
Shawn-D and Belle were still dancing. They did the dip that they are famous for.
SHAWN-D: Remember the last time we were dancing together in this gym?
BELLE: Oh, yeah. It was at the 2001 Last Blast Dance. We won that dance competition.

SHAWN-D: Man, that seemed like so long ago!
BELLE: It was, kind of. Eleven years. And, here we are, still dancing in this gym, eleven years later. Celebrating ten years since we graduated. We're still together, plus, we've got a child.
SHAWN-D: And, one on the way.
Belle and Shawn-D smiled at each other. Then, they kissed. As the night went on, several more songs were played, and everybody had a wonderful time dancing. It was the best reunion they had been to. They were surrounded by all their old friends and were sharing old memories. Meanwhile, Mimi had walked into the bathroom. Jan was in there.
MIMI: Oh, great. You're here.
JAN: Oh, hey Meems.
MIMI: What are you doing here, Jan?
JAN: It's my ten year class reunion. Why wouldn't I be here?
MIMI: I can give any list of reasons why you shouldn't be here. Anyway, whatever it is you're planning, don't try to rope me into it this time. I've changed, Jan. And, I'm not gonna help you torture Chloe anymore.
JAN: I wasn't planning anything.
MIMI: Yeah, right.
JAN: Honest. I wasn't. I wanted to come back here and try to make up for what I've done to everybody over the last several years. I need to apologize for what I've done.
MIMI: Yeah, well don't even try to apologize to me!
JAN: I figured that you would be the one to react this way. I just wanted to know that I'm really sorry about everything.
MIMI: You know, if you wanna apologize to someone, apologize to Chloe. She's the one you tortured the most in high school.
Mimi walked out. As did Jan.

How do you always manage to get me to feel bad for Jan? LOL

I think I figured out who Tobias is?? It's either JT or Zack who didn't really die... I think more JT and his heart problems have been taken care of.
