Everyone acts like Jan is a lepper.
I feel sorry for Melanie. It's no fun to go to someone else's reunion and have to stand there while the others reminisce and you have no idea what they're talking about. And oh, I didn't realize that Philip and Melanie weren't married in this story. That's interesting.
Thanks Andre. I'm already loving this story.

Chapter 6 SALEM HIGH SHAWN-D: It's been almost seven years, Jan. My life is finally getting back to something that resembles normalcy. Why would you choose tonight of all nights to come back? JAN: Well, this is the high school I went to, and it is the tenth anniversary of my graduation from said high school. Look, Shawn, I know you're mad at me. SHAWN-D: Oh, I don't think that that even begins to describe how I feel about you. JAN: I know. I'm sure that it doesn't. But, in the last few weeks, some things have happened and I realized how stupid...stupid's not even the right word...how twisted and sick I was for all of the things that I did to you and Belle. Mostly you. And, I want you to know that I'm sorry about everything. SHAWN-D: I see. Well, thanks for the apology. Tobias walked up. TOBIAS: Hey. JAN: Hey. TOBIAS: I'm Tobias Jameson. SHAWN-D: Shawn Brady. Tobias and Shawn-D shook hands. TOBIAS: So, how's it goin'? JAN: Okay. Look, I'm gonna go use the ladies' room. I'll be back in a few minutes. TOBIAS: Okay. Jan walked off. SHAWN-D: So, Toby... TOBIAS: Please, I prefer Tobias. SHAWN-D: Whatever. So, how did she rope you into this? TOBIAS: Rope me into what? SHAWN-D: Being her boyfriend. TOBIAS: Oh, I'm not Jan's boyfriend. SHAWN-D: Sorry, you're her slave? Is servant a better term? Pet, maybe? Or, is she using more romantic terms like Valentino now? TOBIAS: Um...no. I'm not any of those things. I'm an assistant to Dr. Paris. SHAWN-D: Doctor Who? TOBIAS: No, Dr. Paris. Here's his card. Tobias rummages in his suit coat, pulls out a card, and hands it to Shawn-D. Shawn-D looks it over. SHAWN-D: M. D. Rehab? What's that? TOBIAS: A rehabilitation clinic. SHAWN-D: Yeah, I got that. What was Jan doing in rehab? TOBIAS: It's a long story. SHAWN-D: I've got time. TOBIAS: Remember Jan's little accident? Shawn-D stares off into space for a moment. Click here to see what he's remembering: (watch from 5:30 to 6:01) Shawn-D snaps out of it. SHAWN-D: Yeah, I do. She went into a coma. TOBIAS: Yeah. Well, about a month ago, she came out of the coma. Because she spent the better part of six years in a coma, she's going to rehab to try and help her adjust to everything that's happened over the last seven years, and to make sure that she doesn't have an brain damage. SHAWN-D: I see. TOBIAS: You said your name was Shawn Brady, right? SHAWN-D: Yeah, why? TOBIAS: How's your mother doing? |

I was wondering the same thing, Mrs. M. How does Tobias know Shawn's mother? And doesn't he have a big mouth? Someone should remind him about the patient privacy act. Loved this exchange: TOBIAS: Um...no. I'm not any of those things. I'm an assistant to Dr. Paris. SHAWN-D: Doctor Who? TOBIAS: No, Dr. Paris. Great dialogue Andre. I kind of feel bad for Jan. Shawn is really bitter. Even though Dr. Tobias has a big mouth, I'm glad Shawn knows what Jan has been through. Thanks for a great chapter Andre. Looking forward to the next one! |

Chapter 7 SALEM HIGH SHAWN-D: My mother? What about my mother? TOBIAS: How is she? SHAWN-D: Fine. Why? TOBIAS: That's good. Just wondering. SHAWN-D: How do you know my mother? TOBIAS: We were...close once upon a time. SHAWN-D: Close? Define close. TOBIAS: I should go check on Jan. Good talking to you, Shawn. Tobias walked away. Meanwhile, in the girls bathroom, Jan was drying her hands. She was just about to walk out, when Belle walked in at the same time. BELLE: So, you are here. JAN: Yeah. BELLE (sarcastically): Lovely. Belle walked towards a stall, but Jan stopped her. JAN: Belle... BELLE: Jan, I'm really not in the mood for this right now. JAN: Just...hear me out, okay? Belle folded her arms. BELLE: Make it quick. JAN: I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything I've done, especially for what I've done to you and Shawn. What I did was insane. I can't ask you to forgive me. I know that. What I did was unforgivable. I just thought you should know that I've finally come to the conclusion that what I did was wrong on so many levels. And, I'm sorry. BELLE: Well, I'm glad that you finally realized that. JAN: Yeah, me too. BELLE: So, I guess now that you're back I'll be seeing you around town. JAN: You will tonight and tomorrow. But, after that, you and Shawn will never have to see me again. After the second half of the reunion tomorrow night, I'm leaving Salem. Jan walked out. Meanwhile, Philip and Chloe were having a chat. PHILIP: So, you can take Parker home with you this weekend. CHLOE: And, I'll have him back to you by next week. PHILIP: Great. CHLOE: Great. PHILIP: I am glad to see you again, Chloe. I know that, whenever we leave Salem, the two of us always seem to be fighting. But, I am glad you came back for the reunion. And, that you're working so hard to have Parker back in your life. CHLOE: Parker's my son. I'd do anything for him. And, I was valedictorian of our class. I kinda felt like I had to come back. So, how's things with Melanie? PHILIP: Great, actually. We got back together this past Christmas. CHLOE: That's great. I'm happy for you. PHILIP: Thanks. How's things with Brady? CHLOE: Fine, I guess. We're not together or anything. I just didn't want to come to the reunion by myself. You know, Brady and I were together for a while, we're still good friends. PHILIP: Is that all you want to be, good friends with him? |

Oh, so Parker exists in this story. Very interesting.
I am so curious about Tobias and Hope. I wonder if he took care of her when she was Nighttime Hope.
Good story Andre. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's chapter.

CHLOE: I should go. Chloe walked away. The hand tapped Philip's back again. Philip turned around to see... PHILIP: Cynthia? CYNTHIA: Hey, soldier. Hope tomorrow I can finally get that dance I've been waiting for for ten years now. How about it? PHILIP: Do you want the long answer or the short answer? CYNTHIA: Long. PHILIP: Not in a million years. CYNTHIA: If that's the long answer, then what's the short one? Melanie walked up. MELANIE: Not a chance. Cynthia stared at Melanie. CYNTHIA: Who's this...creature? PHILIP: Oh, that's right. You two haven't met, have you? Melanie, this is Cynthia Austin. Cynthia, this is... MELANIE: Melanie. Melanie Kiriakis. CYNTHIA: Kiriakis? You brought your sister to the reunion? That's sad even for you, Philip. First Ghoul Girl and now your own sister. PHILIP: First of all, don't you dare talk about Chloe like that! Second, Melanie is not my sister, she's... MELANIE: I'm his wife. Cynthia patted Melanie's cheek. CYNTHIA: I pity you, sweetheart. MELANIE: Philip, could you go and check the car, I think I left it running. PHILIP: But, I made sure it was turned off... MELANIE: Check the car, Philip! PHILIP: Okay. Philip walked off. Melanie turned back to Cynthia. MELANIE: Okay, first of all, don't call me sweetheart. Second, I'm sorry that high school apparently never ended for you and that you're still the same girl that Philip told me you were ten years ago. Third, don't cross me. I'm not like most girls from Salem. I know how to fight back. And, I should warn you, I don't always play by the rules. So, you can turn around, walk away, and never mention or think about this again. Because, believe me, I am not the type of girl you want to be on the wrong side of... Melanie patted Cynthia's cheek. MELANIE: ...sweetheart. Cynthia stormed off angrily. Philip walked back in. PHILIP: What was all that about? MELANIE: You know all those sayings about fine wine growing better with age? PHILIP: Yeah. MELANIE: Well, from what you've told me about your high school, and what I've seen tonight, Jason and Cynthia seem to be more like eggs. PHILIP: How so? MELANIE: Rather than growing better with age like fine wine, Jason and Cynthia have become more rotten, just like eggs do with age. Philip laughed. PHILIP: You know, that is probably the best description of them I've ever heard! |
