Chapter 239

SALEM P.D.
Roman, John and Steve had met in one of the offices at the police station.
STEVE: I don't believe it.
ROMAN: Yeah, I can hardly believe it, myself.
STEVE: I mean, we all thought you were dead. And we're glad as hell you're not!
ROMAN: You're telling me. It's been nearly a year since you all left Melaswen. I was just getting used to being stuck there, and that's when John found me.
JOHN: Well, once I got that call from my informant, I had to check it out.
STEVE: You did tell Sami and Marlena, right?
JOHN: Oh yes. They were the first to find out, along with all of their family.

BRADY PUB – FLASHBACK
It was the night that Sami and Lucas were going to announce their engagement. Sami, Lucas, Will, Sonny, Johnny, Allie, Sydney and Marlena were sitting at a table.
SAMI: I'm glad all you guys are here. But, mom, where's John? I want to be able to tell all of you at the same time.
MARLENA: He'll be here any moment, I hope. It's fairly peculiar, at the beginning of the week, he mentioned having to go on another ISA mission, but said it would only take a day or two.
WILL: Well, grandpa goes on ISA missions all the time. I'm sure he'll be here soon.
JOHN: Indeed, he will.
Everyone turned to look at the door, as John entered.
JOHN: Sorry I'm late, everyone.
MARLENA: We're just glad you could make it.
John and Marlena kissed.
JOHN: Well, like I said, I had to go on an ISA mission. And I can now happily share with you all what it was.
John gestured to the door as Roman walked in. Several people stood up.
SAMI: Dad?
MARLENA; Roman?
ROMAN: Hi, everyone.
SAMI: But...but how? How is this possible? You...you died. Back when we were all on Melaswen, André caused an explosion, and we all thought...
ROMAN: Yeah, that's what John's been telling me on the way over here.
JOHN: A couple days ago, I got a call from an informant, who saw some activity on Melaswen. As you can imagine, since our second stay there, the ISA has been tracking life signs on the island, just to make sure none of our loved ones ends up there again. Well, it turns out that when we left, even though we thought Roman was dead, he wasn't. I had Shane check into it to make sure, and sure enough, our informant was right.
Sami ran to Roman and hugged him.
SAMI: This is so incredible!
ROMAN: It is. It really is.
SAMI: John, thank you so much! This is amazing!
JOHN: Hey, I'm glad I was able to help out. So, I recall you having an announcement to make?
SAMI: Well, my news barely seems as big compared to this.
LUCAS: Oh, I don't know, it's still pretty big.
SAMI: You're right. Take a seat, everyone.
Everyone, including Roman and John, sat around the table.
WILL: So, you said you had an announcement to make, mom?

SALEM P.D.
ROMAN: After that, we stopped over by St. Luke's to tell Eric, and I made a phone call to Carrie.
STEVE: Well, regardless of how it happened, I'm glad.
ROMAN: Me too, Steve. Me too.
Steve and Roman shook hands.
JOHN: We all are. But now, we have to concentrate on what we're gonna do about the situation on the Pier this Friday. Whatever may happen.

André DiMera, thank you for clearing that up. Last week I wondered how Roman could be at the pub when Sami and Lucas announced their engagement. Last I remember, Roman died, but I presumed I must have missed something. I'm really glad Roman is back!

YAY! That was a such a sweet homecoming scene. It was great to see how Roman made it back from the land of the presumed dead. LOL

Chapter 240

SALEM P.D.
STEVE: You know, the one thing that's still confusing me about this whole situation, if you're still alive, how come we all saw your dead body?
ROMAN: Well, there could be any number of reasons. It could be a look-alike, or a clone, if Dr. Rolf is still on the DiMera payroll.
JOHN: Oh, he is. The ISA is keeping tabs on that, as well.
ROMAN: The other option, which I sincerely hope it's not, but it could have been Chris Kositchek. You have to admit, he and I do bear a passing resemblence.
JOHN: No, it wasn't Chris. He's still on a mission in New Zealand.
Sami and Lucas arrived moments later.
LUCAS: Sorry we're late.
STEVE: Hey, dudes, you're not late. Party doesn't start 'til you guys get here. Congrats on the impeding nuptuals, but the way.
SAMI: Thanks. So, are we all ready for the plan?
JOHN: Yep. Roman, Steve and I are gonna go down to the Pier and wait for André, or whichever of his goons he sends in his place.
ROMAN: I just hope it's not Bart Beiderbecke.
STEVE: From what I understand, Beiderbecke is mostly security, when he's not used as a glorified chauffer. I doubt André'd send him on a mission like this.
JOHN: Well, we have to be ready for anything. I assume you two are still intent on talking to Tony and Anna?
SAMI: That's the plan.
LUCAS: From what little I know of him, Tony seems like a reasonable guy, so I'm sure he and Anna will be able to help us.
JOHN: He is that. I don't know Tony half as well as I'd like, but I do know that he's a good man.
STEVE: Well, dudes, it's getting on show time, what d'you say we get this show on the road?
ROMAN: Agreed. Good luck, you two.
SAMI: Thanks, you too.
And so the group went their separate ways.

DIMERA MANSION
A short time later, Sami and Lucas knocked on the door. Tony opened it.
TONY: Sami, Lucas, what a surprise.
SAMI: Tony. We need to talk.
TONY: Please, come in.
Tony led Sami and Lucas into the main room of the mansion. Anna was reading the newspaper.
TONY: We have guests, my dear.
Anna set down the paper and stood up.
ANNA: Well, hello you two. What brings you out here this evening.
LUCAS: Unfortunately, André.
Tony frowned.
TONY: You've heard from André, then?
SAMI: Not just heard from, we've seen him. He crashed our engagement party a few days ago.
TONY: Well, congratulations on the engagement. I only wish you had had a better guest than him.
LUCAS: So do we.
ANNA: Well, we should at least celebrate your engagement. I'll have Harold get us some drinks.
LUCAS: I don't drink, actually.
TONY: Well, we do have some sparkling cider or lemonade, if you'd like.
SAMI: We'll have time for drinks later. Right now, we need to focus on André.
TONY: Of course. What is it that we can do for you? Anything you need, and we'll do it, if we can.

Yay! Blast from the past. Nice reference to Chris Kositchek, Josh Taylor's other character! I wonder why Roman hopes it's not Bart, though.

Loved the scene at the mansion. I wonder what Sami has in mind for Tony and Anna to do.

Chapter 241

DIMERA MANSION
SAMI: We need access to Rolf's lab.
TONY: I see. For what purpose?
LUCAS: We have a feeling that the letter we received to meet at the Pier is likely a trap.
TONY: An understandable thought.
SAMI: So, you can do it?
TONY: Of course I can do it. I just hope you know what you're getting into.
LUCAS: We do.
TONY: Very well. This way.
Tony led Sami and Lucas down the hall. He stopped at one, and unlocked it.
TONY: There you are.
SAMI: Thank you, Tony.
TONY: I'll be out in the main room should you need anything.
Tony left. Sami and Lucas began walking down the stairs, then Lucas' phone buzzed. He looked at it.
LUCAS: It's Allie. Her friend's mom couldn't pick her up and she needs a ride home.
SAMI: Okay, go.
LUCAS: All right. You wanna wait here until I get back, or are you gonna come with me?
SAMI: Oh, I'll wait.
LUCAS: Okay. I'll see you soon.
Sami and Lucas kissed, then Lucas left.
SAMI (thinking): Well, I'm definitely not gonna just stand here.
Sami opened the door and walked down the stairs.

PIER
Steve, Roman and John stood on the Pier. John looked at his watch.
JOHN: Any time now.
STEVE: You can't tell me you're actually excited about the prospect of dealing with André again.
JOHN: No, I just want to get this over with.
ROMAN: We all do. Wonder what it is that André's got in store for us.
They heard a noise, and saw a small package on the ground in front of them. Roman reached down to pick it up, but John held out his hand.
JOHN: Wait a minute.
He pulled a small scanner out of his pocket, one of his special ISA devices, and held it over the package. After a moment, he put it away.
JOHN: Okay, it's clean. Had to scan it to see if it was a bomb.
ROMAN: Good idea.
STEVE: Well, let's see what this “present” is, then.
Roman picked up the package and opened it. Inside was merely a note.
STEVE: “You should have come alone”.
Steve, Roman and John looked at each other. Then, Steve felt something hit him on the back of the head, and he was knocked out. Roman was next. John pulled his gun out.
JOHN: Who's there? Show yourself.
Three figures stepped out of the shadows. The figures were Cassie, Rex and Chad.
JOHN: What the hell?
CHAD: André sends his regards.
Then, John got hit on the back of the head, too.

DIMERA MANSION
The room was dark. Sami turned on a light, and looked around. On the surface, everything looked normal, but Sami could tell that something wasn't quite right. She heard a noise, and turned around. It was nothing. Most likely just a random beep made by one of the several computers in the room. Then, she felt a hand on her shoulder.
E.J.: Hello, Samantha.
Sami turned around and came face to face with E.J. DiMera.

I knew Sami wasn't going to wait. Well, she got what she asked for. Looking forward to seeing her reaction to EJ.

Oh no, the guys are in trouble now! I'm disappointed Chad is on the side of evil but maybe he's been brainwashed again. LOL

Gasp! What a cliffhanger OMG.

I knew Sami wouldn't wait for Lucas and he should have known it too, but certainly it's much more dramatic for Sami to meet EJ alone.

I wonder who hit John on the back of his head if Chad, Rex and Cassie were standing in front of him. I'm disappointed in these Super Detectives being bested like that.

No surprise that Sami took it upon herself to investigate. It's really a toss up here on how she reacts to seeing EJ.

Aww its gonna be a long two weeks! Ugh Trix stay away from Noelle. She's as bad as your mother, though better than Jade I guess..

Can't wait for Sami's reaction to EJ. I hope Chad has not really gone to the dark side and can't wait to see what happens with Vivian.
