KIRIAKIS MANSION
Melanie set the hairbrush down and looked directly into the mirror.
MELANIE: You’re not going to get away with this, you know?
The unnerving smile widened.
“MELANIE”: Who says I haven’t already?
(NOTE: This conversation is happening in Melanie’s head. For the purposes of this scene, the real Melanie’s lines will be normal, while the person everyone thinks is Melanie will have quotes around her name.
MELANIE: You can’t have. Someone will figure it out sooner or later.
“MELANIE”: Oh, but you see, they won’t. Because I’ve been trained by the best. You do know that André spent nearly 20 years with everyone convinced that he was really Tony, right?
MELANIE: You are not André DiMera.
“MELANIE”: No. I’m his daughter.
MELANIE: I am not his daughter!
“MELANIE”: Who was talking about you? I’m talking about me. I’m inside your head, Melanie. You may have kept me at bay for years, but I’ve been hidden inside of your head since those doctors forced me in there. And now, thanks to Aunt Megan, I’m finally free.
MELANIE: And with this newfound freedom, you’re gonna do what, exactly?
“MELANIE”: Go back to my father and continue his great work alongside him. It will be beautiful.
MELANIE: It sounds horrific! Anyway, how have you convinced Philip that you’re really me? I should hope he’d know that something’s off.
“MELANIE”: Like I said, I learned from the best. There is the benefit of being inside of your mind, of course. It’s not like with Father and Tony where there’s two of them. There’s only one of me…I mean us.
The fake Melanie laughed.
“MELANIE”: So you see, when he kisses me, he can’t tell the difference, because it’s still my body. Plus, being inside of your head, I know you better than anybody. I know how you think, how you feel, how you talk, how you’d react to pretty much any situation. Because at the end of the day, I am you, only better.
MELANIE: You’re not me! You’ll never be me! There’s no way!
“MELANIE”: Oh, but there is. Like I said, I’ve been set free, and this time I’m here to stay.
PARK
Ivan walked out of a secret door near the park. He sat on a park bench and dialed a number.
IVAN: Mr. Alamain, I have the information that you requested. I need to meet with you and Philip Kiriakis as soon as possible. And tell Mr. Kiriakis that he might want to bring along one of his friends from the ISA. This information will be of interest to them, as well, I think.
ALAMAIN INDUSTRIES
NICHOLAS: I’ll do that. Come to the office, everyone has gone home for the day. We’ll hold the meeting here. Goodbye.
Nicholas hung up, but quickly dialed another number.
NICHOLAS: Philip, Nicholas Alamain. I need you to come to my office, there’s been a new development in the situation with Melanie. Try to see if you can get one of your ISA friends to come, too.
