PENTHOUSE GRILLE
Trix and Nicholas were having dinner.
NICHOLAS: How are things with you and Ciara?
TRIX: Yeah, they’re good.
NICHOLAS: Good. I’m glad to hear that. Work’s going well?
TRIX: Yeah, I’m glad I got that job as a swim instructor over at that health club.
NICHOLAS: Excellent. What was it called again?
TRIX: The Body Connection. I guess it’s owned by a guy who’s good friends with Ciara’s uncle Roman. Kinda looks a bit like Roman, to be honest. I guess he lives in San Francisco, but occasionally comes out to Salem to check on the club.
NICHOLAS: Ah, interesting. Well, I’m glad that you’re enjoying it.
TRIX: Yeah.
NICHOLAS: I’m also glad that we were able to have dinner together.
TRIX: Same here.
NICHOLAS: Beatrix, there’s something I need to tell you.
TRIX: Must be bad, since you used my full first name. What’d Aunt Viv do this time?
NICHOLAS: She…it’s not about Aunt Viv. Well, technically I suppose it is about Aunt Viv, but only in a sense.
TRIX: Dad, what are you trying to say?
NICHOLAS: I…I have made the decision to move back into the mansion.
Trix put down her fork.
TRIX: No offense, Dad, but have you gone mad?
NICHOLAS: I figured you’d react like this.
TRIX: Can you blame me? I mean, after all the stuff she did to break you and Cassie up, I’d have figured you wouldn’t want a bar with Aunt Viv!
NICHOLAS: I have not forgotten what Aunt Viv did, nor have I entirely forgiven her.
TRIX: So you have forgiven her to a point, then.
NICHOLAS: That is not…the point isn’t whether I’ve forgiven Aunt Viv or not.
TRIX: Well, you moving back into the mansion kind of signals that you have. At least, it will to Aunt Viv.
NICHOLAS: Look, Beatrix, the reason I have moved back into the mansion isn’t because I’ve forgiven Aunt Viv, I haven’t. I am doing this for your aunt.
TRIX: Mel? What does Auntie Mel have to do with this?
NICHOLAS: Everything. That’s why I wanted to talk to you. I’m sure you remember a few months ago when she was kidnapped and nearly died?
TRIX: Yeah, of course.
NICHOLAS: Well since then, I have been trying to find out exactly what the DiMeras have done to her. So far, I have come up with nothing. But, I know that Ivan would be able to find out what happened. Unfortunately, Ivan and Aunt Viv are practically tied at the hip, so I couldn’t get to him without being close to Aunt Viv again. If there was any chance of me talking Ivan into looking into what the DiMeras did to Melanie, it was making it seem like I was on good terms with Aunt Viv again.
TRIX: Just to confirm, then, you’re not?
NICHOLAS: No. While I understand that I did, of course, play a part in our break-up, I’m still furious about what Aunt Viv did to break up Cassie and I.
TRIX: Alright. Good to know, then. You sure this is gonna work, though? I mean, Aunt Viv isn’t dim.
NICHOLAS: No, I’m not sure that it’ll work, but it’s one of the best options that I have. And let’s put it this way, Aunt Viv would rather pretend that everything is fine between she and I, even if she knows it isn’t true, than go back to me only speaking to her when I absolutely need to.
TRIX: Fair enough.
CLAIRE & CHASE’S APARTMENT
Claire had just finished telling Chase about her meeting in L.A.
CHASE: Oh my gosh! Songbird, I am so proud of you!
Claire and Chase hugged.
CLAIRE: Thanks!
CHASE: So, your plane leaves tonight, then?
CLAIRE: Yeah, the meeting is first thing Monday morning, so I figured I’d leave tonight and spend tomorrow getting ready.
CHASE: Well, you’re gonna do great! I wish I could come with you.
CLAIRE: I do, too. It’s okay, though. I totally understand that you’ve gotta work.
CHASE: Alright. Just let me know that you got there safely, and tell me all about the meeting.
CLAIRE: I will!
CHASE: This is so exciting!
CLAIRE: It is!
Claire turned to Alanis and hugged her.
CLAIRE: Thanks for helping me pack.
ALANIS: You’re welcome. Good luck!
CLAIRE: Thanks!
CHASE: So, you’ve got all your stuff?
CLAIRE: Yep! I’m ready to go!
CHASE: Awesome! Let’s get you to L.A., then!
Claire gave Alanis another hug, then she and Chase left for the airport.
