TITAN
Philip sighed.
PHILIP: Cynthia, what are you doing here?
CYNTHIA: What, isn’t it enough to want to visit an old friend?
PHILIP: If I thought that that was all it was…
CYNTHIA: Look, my days of coming onto you are long over. Not that I wouldn’t try to, if I were single. I mean, you are still as foxy as ever. But, as it is, I’m happily married.
PHILIP: Right. So, what really brings you here?
CYNTHIA: A job interview.
Philip blinked.
PHILIP: A job interview?
CYNTHIA: That’s what I said.
PHILIP: You wanna work at Titan? You can’t be serious!
CYNTHIA: I am absolutely serious. You may or may not know this, Philip, but I’m a model now. And, as Titan is one of the biggest media companies in the area, I thought this would be a good place to look for a job.
PHILIP: Well, you’re looking in the wrong place, for a start. This is Titan’s corporate office, you’re looking for Titan Media, down on the sixth floor.
CYNTHIA: No, I know. But I thought a word with the boss might help my case along, if you know what I mean. I brought some headshots with me.
PHILIP: Yeah, nice try, but it doesn’t work like that. Go down to the sixth floor and try your luck. I can’t guarantee anything, but you’ll have a better shot there. You may want to come back tomorrow, though, they’re just about to go home for the evening.
CYNTHIA: You sure you don’t wanna just take a little peek?
PHILIP: Cynthia, I don’t wish to be rude, but I’m busy. I need to finish this up and get back home to my wife and daughter.
Cynthia sighed dramatically.
CYNTHIA: Fine, I guess I’ll be going, then. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing you again really soon, though, once I get a job here.
Cynthia winked and walked out.
PHILIP (under his breath): Good luck with that.
SAMI & LUCAS’ APARTMENT
Lucas was in the kitchen, cooking. He heard the front door open.
LUCAS: Be out in a sec!
He put a pan in the oven, then took off his oven mitts as he went into the living room. Allie had just walked in.
LUCAS: Hey, kid. Glad you could make it for dinner. Guess court let out just in time, huh?
Allie nodded.
LUCAS: Your Mom’ll be back in a little bit. She’s picking up Sydney from her friend’s house.
Allie didn’t say anything. Her shoulder shook slightly.
LUCAS: Allie, you okay?
Allie blinked hard. Lucas walked over to her.
LUCAS: What’s going on?
Allie let out a sob. Lucas wrapped his arms around her.
SHAWN-D & BELLE’S HOUSE
Shawn-D was on the phone.
SHAWN-D: All right, thanks for the update. Yep, see you tomorrow. Bye.
He hung up the phone and went into the living room. Belle had just gotten home.
SHAWN-D: Evening.
BELLE: Hey.
SHAWN-D: I’ve got some great news! Uncle Roman just called, Kevin corroborated my alibi, so I’m off the list of suspects for Maisy’s killer. Meaning that my suspension is over and it’s back to work for me.
BELLE: Oh, that’s great! I’m so glad for you!
SHAWN-D: Thanks.
BELLE: We’ve both gotten good news today, then.
SHAWN-D: Oh yeah? What’s yours?
BELLE: The trial’s over, and we won. Charlie’s going away for a long time.
SHAWN-D: Fantastic! So, we’re two for two on good news, then!
BELLE: Yep!
SHAWN-D: Well, this is great! I’ve been cleared to go back to work, and my superstar lawyer wife just won a huge case.
BELLE: I didn’t do that much, really. It was the jury’s decision. The evidence spoke for itself. Plus, Charlie kinda dug his own grave. I put him on the stand and he freely admitted to what happened.
SHAWN-D: I’m sure you had a lot to do with the jury’s decision.
Shawn-D and Belle put their hands on each other’s arms.
SHAWN-D: We should celebrate. What d’you say we go to that new place that just opened up on Birch?
BELLE: I would love that. But, to be honest, this trial’s wiped me out, and I’d kinda like to just stay in for the night.
SHAWN-D: Okay, no problem. Then how about you take a seat, I’ll order in for us, and you and I can spend a relaxing evening together?
BELLE: Now that sounds like a great idea to me.
Shawn-D and Belle kissed.
SHAWN-D: I love you, Mrs. Brady.
BELLE: I love you, Mr. Brady.
