Friday - 6/10 TITAN Philip sat in his office, looking over paperwork. The phone on his desk rang. PHILIP: Kiriakis. No, why? I don’t have a meeting scheduled right now, but go ahead and send her up, I guess. Philip hung up the phone. PHILIP: I wonder who that could be? A moment later, Philip’s office door opened and Cynthia walked in. CYNTHIA: Take a wild guess, handsome. Philip sighed as he set his pen down. SALEM COURTHOUSE Belle sat down as Charlie stood up. CHARLIE: No witnesses, Your Honor. I said I would defend myself, and I plan to do so with my testimony and my closing argument. Judge Fitzpatrick fingered her gavel and let out a deep breath. FITZPATRICK: Then let us move on to said closing arguments. Mrs. Brady, you may go first. BELLE: Thank you, Your Honor. Belle stood up and faced the jury. BELLE: You have heard the testimony of the family and friends of the victims. You have heard the testimony of the officers who investigated these grizzly crime scenes. You have heard the testimony of the man who has been accused, and has since confessed to being a murderer. And you have seen evidence provided by the police. Now it is time for you to make a decision. By his own admission, Charlie Dale committed murder on multiple occasions, then used images of said murders for not only his personal pleasure, but the pleasure of others around the world. I have faith that you will take all of this into account when making your decision. It should be an open and shut case. Charlie Dale is guilty. Search your hearts and minds, make the right decision. Thank you. Belle sat down. Charlie stood up. CHARLIE: You remember a couple of weeks ago when this trial started? I told you that the prosecution would try to paint a certain picture of me, that they’d portray me as a monster. And I was right. I’m not upset, because I knew that this was coming. My opposite number, Belle Brady, she did a good job. And she was at least partly right, I did commit those murders, no point in denying it now. But she was also very wrong about something. I’m not guilty. I repeat, I am not guilty. In order to be guilty, I would need to feel guilt. But I don’t, not at all. There is no guilt within me. And I’m sure that you can see that. And that is why I know that you will find me not guilty. Thank you. Charlie sat down. FITZPATRICK: Jury, you may now go into deliberation. One by one, the jury filed out of the room. After the door was closed, the audience began to talk amongst themselves in hushed voices. RICKY: That absolute burro. Sofia patted her son’s hand. SOFIA: Language, ‘rique. RICKY: Mami, you can’t tell me you don’t think the same. SOFIA: What I think is that we’ll finally be getting some justice for your hermana. ALLIE: I hope so. I really hope so. MEADOW: He did it. He actually did it. Johnny put an arm around Meadow. JOHNNY: I know. I know. Let’s just hope they throw the book at him.

What kind of defense was that? Charlie just admitted he was a psychopath. Is he planning on appealing on the grounds of incompetent counsel? Sheesh. That said, I agree with Allie and Johnny. Let's hope the jury makes the right decision. Great chapter André DiMera. Will there be previews?

That was not really a good closing argument was it Charlie? I agree with Allie and Johnny I hope they get the justice deserved for Charlie's victims. Here's hoping the jury make the right verdict. Can't wait for the previews of what's to come. Thank you for another awesome dramatic week André DiMera

Just because you don't feel guilt doesn't make you less guilty in the eyes of the law, just more crazy. Since he confessed to the murders, I think all that needs to be done is the sentencing. Hang him high.

The fact he feels no guilt no remorse after he committed those murders, here is hoping Judge Fitzpatrick throws the book at Dale when convicting and sentencing this man. I'm surprised Manny her father and her brother Ricky haven't personally gone after Charlie for what he did. I'm even surprised Meadow or Johnny or even Allie haven't done anything to him yet.
I wonder if Cynthia is actually trying to get a job here at Titan?

Hopefully they give him one life sentence for each life he took.
I wonder what Cynthia wants from Philip.

Thanks for reading and commenting, everyone!
Next week… The trial of Charlie Dale comes to an end. CHARLIE: I’m not guilty. What will the jury’s decision be? FITZPATRICK: Mr. Dale… Meanwhile, Cynthia tries to make a move. PHILIP: You can’t be serious. And Mimi gets a blast from the past. MIMI: Oh, great. All this and more next week on THE MELASWEN PARADOX!

I think Mimi runs into either Jan, Chloe or she runs into Max or Rex
I think Cynthia she wants to reunite with Philip never mind the fact that he's married to Melanie or that she's married herself to Jason. It is either that or Cynthia wants a job at Titan.
Hoping Fitzpatrick she finds Charlie guilty and she sentences him to 20 years to life

Ready for the verdict!

Monday - 6/13 SALEM COURTHOUSE A hush fell over the room as the jury entered the room. They hadn’t been gone for very long. Judge Fitzpatrick waited until they were all seated. FITZPATRICK: Madam foreman, have you come to a decision? The jury foreman stood up. FOREMAN: We have, Your Honor. After reviewing the case both for and against him, as well as weighing the evidence, we have come to a conclusion. Everyone sat up. Couples took each other’s hands. FOREMAN: On the charge of the murder of Meadow Cole, we find the defendent, Charlie Dale, guilty. Judge Fitzpatrick banged her gavel. She did this for each of the following proclamations. FOREMAN: On the charge of the murder of Rayne Gilmore, we find the defedent guilty. On the charge of the murder of Lydia Moore, we find the defedent guilty. On the charge of the murder of Tara Reynolds, we find the defendent guilty. On the charge of Mandella Morales, we find the defendant guilty. On the charge of possession of pornography involving a minor, we find the defendant guilty. On the charge of distribution of pornography involving a minor, we find the defendant guilty. Due to the severity and number of these crimes, we, the jury, recommend the maximum sentence for all charges. FITZPATRICK: Thank you, please be seated. The jury foreman sat down. Charlie glared at her. FITZPATRICK: While you were deliberating, I had time to consider a sentence should a guilty verdict be the outcome, and am therefore prepared to hold the sentencing now. Charlie Dale, please rise. Charlie stood up. He was shaking. FITZPATRICK: Charlie Dale, you have been found guilty of five counts of murder, one count of possesion of pornography involving a minor, and one count of distribution of pornography involving a minor- CHARLIE: Which is B.S.! I told you, I’m not guilty! Yeah, I killed those girls, and I’d do it again if I had to, but I am not guilty! This is all a set up, and I know exactly who’s behind it. Charlie turned on Belle. He was about to walk over towards her when he found himself restrained by the police officers that had been sitting on either side of him throughout the trial. He struggled against their grip. Judge Fitzpatrick banged her gavel. FITZPATRICK: Mr. Dale, you will remain silent in this court unless you are asked to speak! The courtroom fell silent once more. Charlie stopped struggling. FITZPATRICK: I have had it up to here with this nonsense. From the moment this trial began, you have shown a complete disregard, and on many occasions even contempt, for the proceedings held here. You have been warned many times about your behavior, but those warnings don’t seem to have gotten through to you. For the charge of murder, I sentence you to life in prison. As there are five counts, that will be five life sentences, to be served consecutively. For the charge of possession of pornorgaphy involving a minor, I sentence you to fifteen years in prison, as well as a fine of $25,000. For the charge of distribution of pornography involving a minor, I sentence you to fifteen years in prison. Furthermore, due to your frequent disruptions, most specifically your most recent one just now, I find you in contempt of court, and will be adding an additional one hundred and eighty days to your sentence, as well as an additional fine of $500. That brings your full sentence to five consecutive life sentences, an additional thirty years and one hundred and eighty days in prison, and a fine of $25,500. I hope to never have to see you in my courtroom again, Mr. Dale. Guards, please escort Mr Dale away. Mrs. Brady, it is, as always, a pleasure to have you practice in my courtroom. Jury, thank you for your service. Court is adjourned. The judge banged her gavel a final time. Everyone watched as Charlie was escorted out by the officers. Then, they all stood up as Judge Fitzpatrick returned to her chambers.

Charlie got 5 life sentences...he is toast and honestly I love it. See what happens when you don't feel guilt or any remorse for your crimes or you wanna take lives and or destroy lives, he's getting exactly what he deserves. He's going to die in prison.

I'm glad Charlie got such a severe sentence. But this isn't over. I have no doubt he plans to exact revenge on Belle from the inside, and possibly the judge and the jury foreman as well. Great chapter André DiMera.

A life sentence is too good for Charlie. He deserves the death penalty.
But I'm glad the victims' families got justice, so to speak.
Great job depicting the trial, Andre.
