Chapter 576
SUSAN & EDMUND’S HOUSE - ENGLAND
Edmund quickly grabbed some towels and began cleaning up the mess.
EDMUND: P-Penelope you say?
PENELOPE: That is correct.
SUSAN: That’s impossible! My sister, Penelope Kent, is dead! Edmund was accused of murderin’ her, even though we all know it was just an accident.
PENELOPE: That’s what you were made to believe. When I fell into the pool, after everybody else had left, André DiMera fished me out, brought me back to life, and, for the last twenty-odd years or so, has had his disgusting mad scientist run experiments on me.
EDMUNDS: So, how do we know that it’s really you?
MOIRA: That is exactly what I wondered, so I had some tests run the other day when Penelope first contacted me. I made sure that they were done by someone trustworthy, so we wouldn’t have to go through several months of being deceived by Kristen.
SUSAN: So...it’s really you?
PENELOPE: Yes, Susan. It’s really me.
Edmund cleared his throat.
EDMUND: I’m, uh, sorry about the pool incident.
PENELOPE: Oh, it’s forgotten. As Susan said, we all know it was an accident. Honestly, I wish it were Kristen that had had to go through that.
EDMUND: As do I.
SUSAN: Well, thankfully, we don’t have to worry about that evil, evil, evil Kristen DiMera anymore. She’s dead.
PENELOPE: Is she?
MOIRA: There was an incident in Europe a few years ago that ended with Kristen falling out of a window to her death.
PENELOPE: I see. I don’t like to disrespect the dead, but I can’t say that I’m sorry to hear that.
EDMUND: Neither can we.
MOIRA: Well, now that we’re all together, let’s enjoy our time and stop thinking about Kristen.
PENELOPE: I agree. But, it strikes me that we’re not all entirely together.
EDMUND: What do you mean?
PENELOPE: Well, the few times we were fortunate to meet, Susan, you mentioned that we have a brother. An identical brother. I’m sorry, but how does that work?
MOIRA: It is a very rare occurrence. It’s only happened a few times in history.
SUSAN: Moira’s right. Thomas is identical to us. Well, except for the fact that is features are more manly than ours, and he has a much deeper voice. But aside from that, he has all the distinguishing Banks features.
PENELOPE: I see. So, where is Thomas?
HOPE & AIDEN’S HOUSE
CLICK HERE to listen to some music throughout this scene. Gina walked up the stairs and into Hope and Aiden’s bedroom. She picked up a picture on the desk and studied it. It was a picture of Hope, Aiden, Chase and Ciara.
GINA: Hm. These must be the younger children Rolf told me about when he brought me back. Chase. Well, I’m not sure what I can do with that. But Ciara...now that is a wonderful name. A name almost fit for royalty. I must think about what to do with these two. As for Mr. Aiden Jennings, he’s certainly no John Black, but I could get used to having him around. At least until I can find a better loyal subject.
Gina put down the picture and picked up another. This one was of Shawn-D, Belle and Claire.
GINA: And now Shawn-Douglas has a family of his own. My, what a pretty daughter they have. I’m sure I can find some use for her.
Gina set the picture down.
GINA: But now comes the interesting part. Having to make everybody in this town believe that I truly am Hope Brady Jennings.
Gina took off her tiara and set it on the dresser.
GINA: This will be fun.
SALEM UNIVERSITY
Claire and Chase were having lunch in the cafeteria.
CHASE: You’re sure you’re okay?
CLAIRE: I’m fine,
CHASE: Okay, just making sure.
CLAIRE: I know. I love that you want to make sure that I’m okay. I know I was kinda freaked the other night after what happened, but you and my parents helped a lot.
CHASE: That’s good. I’m glad.
Claire took Chase’s hand in hers.
CLAIRE: So, moving on, you know the karaoke/open mic nights they have downstairs on Fridays?
CHASE: Yeah.
CLAIRE: Well, I was talking with my roommate, Alanis, and we were thinking about performing a song together soon.
CHASE: That sounds great!
CLAIRE: I know! And we were wondering, would you be interested in joining us?
CHASE: I’d love to! What song would we do?
CLAIRE: We haven’t really picked out a song yet, but we’re leaning towards doing a Queen cover, since that movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, came out a few weeks ago. We’d perform the week after Thanksgiving, since that’s coming in a week and a half.
CHASE: That sounds great to me!
CLAIRE: Sweet! That means all four of us are doing it!
CHASE: All four of us?
CLAIRE: Yeah. You, me, Alanis and her boyfriend, Mads.
CHASE: Wait, Mads as in Maddox?
CLAIRE: Yep, that’s him.
CHASE: Alanis and Maddox are dating?
HORTON CENTER
Jade, Emmy and Eric were back in Eric’s office.
JADE: Hopefully, Dr. Horton can get the results of the blood test back quickly, then maybe we can move passed all this.
ERIC: I’m sure she will. She said she’d call as soon as the results were in.
Jade nodded.
JADE: Thanks again for taking me to get Emmy checked out.
ERIC: No problem. Is there anything else you need?
JADE: Just some sleep and to spend some time with my daughter. Emmy and I are gonna go take a little nap together, and just spend some time cuddling.
ERIC: Good. I’m very happy for you, Jade.
JADE: Thanks. And thanks again, for everything. We’ll see you later.
Eric nodded. Jade kissed the top of Emmy’s head and walked out of Eric’s office.
NICOLE & DANIEL’S APARTMENT
BRANDON: You actually saw what happened?
TAYLOR: Yep.
NICOLE: Well, why the hell are you just telling us this now? More importantly, why haven’t you told the police? It’s been two weeks since the murder, and you and I are still suspects!
TAYLOR: When I talked to the police that night, everything had happened so fast, my mind was all over the place, and I wasn’t thinking clearly. But, now that I’ve had some time to digest everything, I can remember what exactly happened.
NICOLE: Too bad you couldn’t have done that earlier.
BRANDON: Look, the important part is, you remember now. So, what did you see? What happened?
