Chapter 579

SALEM UNIVERSITY
CLAIRE: From the sound of it, we’re not.
CHASE: I know.
CLAIRE: I mean, I hope we are, but it doesn’t sound like it. And if we’re not wrong, then Alanis deserves to know.
CHASE: Do we really need to be the ones to tell her?
CLAIRE: Well, we’re the only ones that know, besides Maddox, and he’s not exactly gonna say anything.
CHASE: True. I just don’t know that it’s really our place. I mean, I’ve never even met Alanis, and you’ve been rooming with her since September.
CLAIRE: Well, she’s gonna find out somehow. Look, I hate this, too. It sucks. I don’t want my new friend to be hurt. But don’t you think she’d be more hurt if she finds out, and then finds out I knew and didn’t tell her?

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL - FLASHBACK
KINSEY: Let go of me!
Kinsey tried to shake her arm free, but Mr. Green held on to her wrist even tighter.
DANTE: If you struggle, it’ll only make things worse.
GREEN: Don’t worry, though. I can make sure this is mostly painless.
Kinsey struggled some more, but then looked at the bottle in her free hand. She swung the bottle and hit Mr. Green over the head with it. He let go of Kinsey’s hand and fell backwards, mostly out of shock. When Kinsey had swung, the bottle had hit the wall, and was now mostly in pieces, some on the ground, but the main part still in Kinsey’s hand. Mr. Green had fallen backwards onto some of the shards of glass.
KINSEY: I said, let go of me!
DANTE: Well, you’ve got some fight, I’ll give you that. Don’t get me wrong, I like a challenge.
Kinsey turned around suddenly and hit Dante in the face with what was left the bottle, causing several cuts across his face. Dante wiped his mouth and put his hand out.
DANTE: You little bi-
Kinsey stabbed Dante with the broken end of the bottle that was in her hand. Dante fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Very slowly, because he was bleeding from falling on the shards of glass, Mr. Green got up.
GREEN: I...I’ll ki-
Without even thinking about what she was doing, Kinsey swung ‘round and stabbed Green, who also went down quickly. Kinsey’s breathing had become quite heavy. For a moment, she stared at the two men, who were both becoming quite pale as they bled on the ground.
KINSEY (thinking): What have I done?
Kinsey ran out of the building as quickly as she could.

CHLOE’S CAR
KINSEY: I didn’t know what I was doing. I just wanted them to get off of me. I was afraid that they were gonna hurt me, or worse.
CHLOE: You were defending yourself with what you had. I get it.
KINSEY: I’m a murderer!
Chloe stopped the car when she got to the motel. She put an arm on Kinsey’s shoulder.
CHLOE: It’s okay. We’ll figure this out, I promise.
KINSEY: How?
CHLOE: We’ll talk about it inside. First, we’re gonna sober you up and then we’ll figure out what to do from there. Is your room key on the keys you gave me?
Kinsey nodded and wiped her eyes.
CHLOE: Okay. Come on.
Chloe got out of the car and then assisted Kinsey. The two walked to the door of the hotel and Chloe put the key in the door. When she opened it, she found that somebody else was there.
KINSEY: Whoa.
It was Mia.
MIA: Hey, babe. I told you I’d be coming back to Salem.

Things just got very interesting with Mia showing up.

I agree with Chloe. This is self defense. The best thing to do would be tell the cops so it doesnt look like she has soemthing to hide but thst never happens in Salem lol

Mia is the last thing Kinsey needs right now.

Kinsey needs to go to the police and explain what happened. Chloe is making herself into an accessory after the fact.

Not sure it's a good idea for these two to tell Alanis what they think they know.

Kinsey needs to get to the cops ASAP. This was self defense, but the longer she waits, the more it looks like pre-meditated and makes it harder to convince otherwise.


Alanis needs to know what her "boyfriend" is up to, however I think that Chase and Claire need a little more info before they say anything. Chase could easily confront Maddox about dating Alanis but having all the other girls coming and going from their room.

Chapter 580

SALEM UNIVERSITY
CHASE: Of course Alanis deserves to know. I just wish we had more concrete proof. And I’m still not sure if we’re the right ones to tell her.
CLAIRE: Well, we can’t just not tell her.
CHASE: But does it have to be right now?
Chase and Claire sighed.
CHASE: Look, if what we suspect is true, of course Alanis deserves to know. But we don’t even know if it is true, or not. There’s gotta be some way to find out for sure, though. This is a really difficult situation.
CLAIRE: Yeah.
Claire looked at her watch.
CLAIRE: I should go. Class is starting in ten minutes.
CHASE: Yeah. Hey, are we okay?
CLAIRE: Of course.
CHASE: You sure? Because you seem kinda mad.
CLAIRE: I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at the situation.
CHASE: Okay.
CLAIRE: But, yeah, we’re okay. I love you.
CHASE: I love you, too.
Claire and Chase hugged. Then, Claire walked off to go to her next class.

BRADY PUB
Max was wiping down the bar. Chelsea walked downstairs.
MAX: Isaac go down for his nap?
CHELSEA: Yep. He went to sleep pretty quickly after I sat down and started rocking with him.
MAX: That’s good.
Max and Chelsea kissed.
MAX: Well, we survived the lunchtime rush yet again. Got a call from Kim. She and Shane’ll be in town tonight for the weekend. And the turkeys are almost entirely thawed out and should be ready in plenty of time for dinner tomorrow.
CHELSEA: That’s great!
MAX: Yeah. Gonna be kinda weird, though, having us in charge of the dinner this year.
Chelsea put her hands on Max’s shoulders.
CHELSEA: I know. But, we’ll all be together, and we’ll have a great time, and be grateful for the time we had with Grandma.
Max nodded. He and Chelsea hugged.

SALEM INN
KINSEY: Good to see you! Where’ve you been for the last few months?
MIA: I got held up with some stuff. But I’m here now.
KINSEY: I’m so glad!
Kinsey hugged Mia. Mia looked up at Chloe.
MIA: Is she drunk?
CHLOE: Yep.
KINSEY: Only a teensy little bit.
CHLOE: I found her tossing back martinis like they were shots.
MIA: Oh geez.
KINSEY: I’m kinda dizzy.
Mia helped Kinsey sit down on the bed. Kinsey laid down.
CHLOE: Once she’s sobered up, we need to talk.
MIA: Why?
CHLOE: Just some stuff that Kinsey told me. I wanna make sure I understood it all correctly.
MIA: Well, from the state she’s in, that’s not gonna happen today. And tomorrow’s Thanksgiving, so it’ll have to wait until Friday.
CHLOE: I don’t think it should wait that long.
MIA: Well, it’ll have to. You’re free to go now. I’ve got this covered.
CHLOE: Okay, for now. But, I’ll be back.
Chloe turned and walked out. Mia sighed, sat down on the bed next to Kinsey, who had fallen asleep, and rubbed Kinsey’s back.
MIA (thinking): Oh, Kinsey. What have you gotten yourself into this time?

I wonder if Kinsey is drunk enough to tell Mia the truth and what Mia will do if so.

Thanksgiving is going to be hard without Caroline but hopefully it'll be nice.

Chase is right, they need to find out the truth before they do anything. I hope Claire listens to him.

KIRIAKIS MANSION
Henderson walked into the living room.
HENDERSON: More of the guests have arrived.
PHILIP: Thanks, Henderson. Send them in.
Henderson walked out. A moment later, Justin, Adrienne and Alexander walked in.
JUSTIN: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
MAGGIE: Justin, Adrienne, Alex! Good to see you all!
ADRIENNE: Good to see you, too.
Alexander and Victor shook hands.
VICTOR: Alex.
ALEXANDER: Uncle Vic.
VICTOR: How are things at the law firm?
ALEXANDER: Great! How’s Titan?
VICTOR: Philip is doing an admirable job.
PHILIP: Thanks, Dad.
Henderson walked back into the room.
HENDERSON: It appears you have two more guests, sir.
VICTOR: Strange, I wasn’t expecting anybody else.
Vic and Jody walked in.
VIC: Oi, don’t forget us!
VICTOR (under his breath): Oh goodie.
Adrienne hugged her sons.
ADRIENNE: Welcome home, boys!
JODY: Thanks for having us fly out here, Mum.
JUSTIN: Good to see you, boys.
VIC: You too. Hey, Uncle. No hard feelings about the job thing, by the way.
Jody nudged Vic.
JODY: Hey, we talked about being more respectful.
VIC: Chill. It’s just a joke. Of course we chose to go back to Dubai. But we’re very happy to be back for Thanksgiving.
MAGGIE: And we’re happy to have you.
JODY: Where’s Sonny?
ADRIENNE: He, Will and Ari went to the Brady Pub for dinner.
MAGGIE: We’re all going over there after dinner.
JODY: That’s good.
Henderson walked back in.
HENDERSON: The cook has informed me that dinner is served, sir.
Victor nodded. He and everyone else walked into the dining room.
MAGGIE: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

BRADY PUB
The majority of the main families in Salem had gathered at the Brady Pub together. The Pub had been closed, due to the holiday. Kimberly walked down the stairs.
KIMBERLY: You’re sure you don’t need any more help?
MAX: Thanks, Kim, but we’re good. We’ve got it all under control.
KIMBERLY: All right.
Kayla and Kimberly hugged.
KAYLA: I’m so glad you two made it back for the holiday.
KIMBERLY: Wouldn’t miss it, especially this year.
Kayla nodded. Steve and Shane shook hands.
STEVE: Welcome back, Guv’nor. How’s things in D.C.?
SHANE: Cheers. Things are good. Getting the ISA into shape.
STEVE: That’s good.
Trix walked in.
CIARA: Hey. Happy Thanksgiving.
TRIX: Happy Thanksgiving.
Trix and Ciara kissed.
CIARA: How was dinner at your dad’s?
Trix shrugged.
TRIX: Same as last year. Aunt Viv making unsubtle remarks about my gran while my dad doesn’t exactly defend her, but doesn’t argue with Aunt Viv, either. Just another dinner with the Alamains.
CIARA: That sucks. I’m sorry.
TRIX: Nah, it’s okay. I’m just thankful I can be here with you.
CIARA: Me too.
CLAIRE: Happy Thanksgiving.
CHASE: Happy Thanksgiving.
Claire and Chase hugged and kissed.
J.J.: I am so thankful every day of my life that you came back to me three years ago.
PAIGE: So am I. I’m thankful every day that your uncle Steve got me, Bo and Will off of that island.
J.J. and Paige kissed. John and Marlena walked in.
MARLENA: Sorry we’re late, everyone.
JOHN: But we brought a special guest.
John opened the door and Brady walked in.
BELLE: Brady?
BRADY: Hi, everyone.
BELLE: You’re home!
BRADY: Sure am, Tink.
MARLENA: After consulting with them one last time, the doctors said Brady was well enough to come home.
BRADY: And I thought what better way to celebrate than joining my family for Thanksgiving dinner?
Everyone clapped. Brady and Belle hugged. Shawn-D and Brady shook hands.
SHAWN-D: Welcome back, man.
BRADY: Thanks. It’s good to be back.
AIDEN: Well, that was a nice surprise.
GINA (as Hope): Indeed.
AIDEN: Happy Thanksgiving, Commissioner.
GINA (as Hope): Happy Thanksgiving.
Aiden and Princess Gina kissed.
DAVID: So, I hear you’re into riding.
CIARA: I just started learning over the summer. Uncle Steve’s teaching me.
DAVID: Hey, that’s cool. I used to love riding.
CIARA: You mean you don’t anymore?
DAVID: I’d love to be able to, but it’s probably for the best that I don’t anymore.
CIARA: How come?
DAVID: It’s a long story. I’ll tell you another time.
Scotty walked over.
SCOTTY: Happy Thanksgiving, Dad.
DAVID: You too, Scott.
Scotty and David hugged. A little bit later, Maggie, Victor and the rest of the Kiriakis family came by.
ROMAN: Victor. Thanks for coming.
Victor nodded.
MAGGIE: We appreciate the invitation.
VICTOR: And I-
Victor coughed.
VICTOR: Despite circumstances, I am thankful for the time that I was able to spend with Caroline.
Victor turned to Maggie.
VICTOR: And that I happened to fall in love with this beautiful woman next to me.
Maggie and Victor kissed.
ROMAN: Victor Kiriakis, you do have a soft side, don’t you?
VICTOR: Don’t push it.
Roman chuckled and, though he wouldn’t admit to it, Victor may have winked. After a while, Max and Chelsea walked to the front of the Pub.
CHELSEA: Can we have everyone’s attention, please?
Everyone quieted down and turned their attention to Chelsea and Max.
CHELSEA: Thank you.
MAX: Guys, thank you all so much for being here and celebrating this holiday with us. We know it feels a little different this year, for all of us. But Ma would be so pleased to see everyone here. As sad as we are, that she’s no longer with us, we’re thankful for the time we got to spend with her, and Chelsea and I are honored to carry on her tradition. Thank you to all of you who stepped in and helped us get ready for today. Now, before we begin, Eric, would you like to lead us in a word of prayer?
ERIC: I’d be happy to. Please take the hand of the person sitting on either side of you.
Eric stood up, and took Sami and Brady’s hands.
ERIC: Holy Father, You have poured out upon our land Your bountiful goodness. You have protected our country from serious harm and danger. You have sustained our soldiers in the battle this nation has fought. Accept our thanks this day for the countless ways You shower upon us Your great blessings. Forgive us for the sake of Christ when we are ungrateful, and hear us as we seek Your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
MAX: Thank you, Eric. Well, as Ma would say, dig in, everyone! We’ve got more than enough food for all of you.
The group of people clapped and began eating, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. Everyone thankful that they could be together this day.
MAX: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I wish Aiden would realize that is not Hope.

BRADY PUB
PHILIP: So, you’re back, then.
BRADY: Yep. Marlena and the other doctors say I’m not crazy anymore. Or, at least not to the level that I think I’m Lexie anymore. Thankfully, I know exactly who I am now.
PHILIP: Good. That’s good to hear.
BRADY: So, who are the two English guys?
PHILIP: Oh, those are our cousins, Joseph and Victor Kiriakis II. They’re Justin and Adrienne’s twins. Named after Adrienne’s mother, Jo, and...well, I’m sure you can imagine who the other is named after.
Brady nodded.
PHILIP: They go by Jody and Vic.
BRADY: You don’t like them.
PHILIP: What makes you say that?
BRADY: Philip, how long have we known each other? I can tell when you don’t like someone, I’ve seen that face in my direction enough times.
PHILIP: I don’t dislike them. Dad does. They run Titan’s Dubai office. Jody seems to be a pretty decent guy, but Vic is a little...out there.
BRADY: Gotcha. Looks like I’ve got a lot to catch up on.
VICTOR: You certainly have. And I have a good idea of how you’re going to do it.
TRIX: So, we doing what we did last year?
CIARA: Black Friday shopping? Totally! Among other things, I need to get a helmet. I’ve been one of my dad’s old helmets, and as much as I love using his stuff, I’d kinda like to get one of my own.
TRIX: That makes sense.
CLAIRE: Well, at least we’re all staying in one place this year, so none of us have to get up super early to pick up everyone.
CHASE: Yeah, the farthest we’ll have to go is each other’s dorms.
CLAIRE: You coming, Joey?
JOEY: I would if I could. But, I’ve gotta work tomorrow.
CIARA: Ouch. That sucks. What about you, Theo?
THEO: No thank you. While I understand that it is an annual tradition, I do not wish to join.
TRIX: Okay, so it’s just us four.
CHASE: That’s okay.
Aiden walked over to Steve.
STEVE: Counselor! Happy Thanksgiving, dude!
AIDEN: You too. Have you got a minute?
STEVE: Sure do. What’s up?
AIDEN: There’s a case I’m working on that’s giving me some trouble and I’d like your opinion on it.
STEVE: Well, I’m a P.I., not a lawyer, but I’ll help if I can.

HUDSON STREET DINER
Kinsey and Mia were eating dinner.
MIA: How’s the hangover?
KINSEY: I don’t have one. I don’t get hangovers.
MIA: Interesting.
Mia set down her coffee cup loudly. Kinsey stared.
KINSEY: Doesn’t bother me. Like I said, I don’t get hangovers, unless I drink to the point of being sick, which I haven’t done in a long time.
MIA: Whatever. So, what’s up with you and Chloe?
Kinsey shrugged.
KINSEY: She helped me out of a bad situation a few years ago and we became close.
MIA: No, I mean, why was she so intent on talking to you when she dropped you off?
KINSEY: Doesn’t matter.
MIA: It sure sounded like it did. Come on, Kinsey. It’s me. You can tell me.
KIMSEY: It’s not important right now. And we’re not that tight. Anyway, what about you? You had me waiting nearly seven months for you to show. So where have you been all this time?

BRADY PUB
Princess Gina stood against one of the walls, watching everyone celebrating Thanksgiving. She had already finished eating.
GINA (thinking): As soon as this foolish American affair is over, I need to start working on the next phase of my plan.
Jennifer walked over.
JENNIFER: Hey, cuz.
GINA (as Hope): Jennifer, hi.
JENNIFER: How’re you doing?
GINA (as Hope): Good. I’m good.
JENNIFER: Yeah. I mean, I can imagine that this is a hard time, it is for all of us. Caroline was an amazing lady.
Princess Gina nodded.
JENNIFER: Well, I’m sure she’d love to see all of her family together. Max and Chelsea did a great job putting all of this on.
GINA (as Hope): They did, didn’t they?
JENNIFER: How’s Aiden?
GINA (as Hope): Aiden is good. He just stepped out a few minutes ago.
JENNIFER: Oh, right. I thought I saw him talking to Steve. Wonder what that was all about?
Gina shrugged.
GINA (as Hope): Who knows? Well, I hate to run, but I should probably be going.
JENNIFER: Okay, well it’s good to see you. We should have lunch sometime soon.
GINA (as Hope): That would be good.
Jennifer hugged Princess Gina, who walked away. Jennifer watched her as she did. Abby walked over.
ABBY: Everything okay, Mom?
JENNIFER: Yep. Everything’s fine.
Jennifer smiled.
ABBY: Mom, don’t do that. I can tell something’s wrong. What’s up?
Jennifer looked over her shoulder to make sure the woman she thought to be Hope wasn’t within earshot.
JENNIFER (whispering): I can’t go into details here, but I have a feeling that the woman I just spoke to wasn’t Hope.
ABBY: What do you mean?
JENNIFER (whispering): We’ll talk about it later.

HUDSON STREET DINER
Mia exhaled slowly.
MIA: Where I’ve been isn’t important.
KINSEY: It kind of is, though. I mean, come on! You made me wait seven months for you.
MIA: Hey, I didn’t make you do anything. You chose to come out here before me, knowing that I wouldn’t be there right away.
KINSEY: Oh, whatever. You’re the one that said we should come here in the first place. Not that I didn’t want to come home, but this place is so boring now. All the hot guys are taken. Will and Sonny are married, so is Chad, T’s got a girlfriend, and the two hot guys I met earlier this year moved back to Dubai or something.
MIA: We’re not just here for guys, you know.
KINSEY: Really? Because I swear I can remember you telling me that the main reason you wanted to come back here was to see if you could get back with either Will or Chad, or did I imagine that?
MIA: They’re not the main reason.
Kinsey raised an eyebrow.
MIA: They’re not! They’re just one of the reasons.
KINSEY: What are the others?
Mia shrugged.
MIA: Is it such a crime to want to come back here after all these years?
KINSEY: No. Just curious. I get the feeling there’s something you’re not telling me. Something big.
MIA: You’re not the only one.
Mia looked around to make sure nobody was listening.
MIA: Tell you what, I’ll tell you my secret if you tell me yours.
Kinsey hesitated. After all, she and Mia had been getting closer since they’d met up again two summers ago. But, on the other, she still wouldn’t consider Mia a friend per se.
KINSEY: Not yet. Soon, though.
MIA: Fair enough.
