Chapter 502

CHEZ ROUGE
Philip had met Tony at Chez Rouge.
PHILIP: Thanks for meeting me on such short notice.
TONY: Not a problem. What can I do for you?
PHILIP: I wanted to thank you for everything you did for me over the last few weeks. And especially for ensuring that Melanie and I got away from André.
TONY: Oh, I was more than happy to. Anytime that I can get someone out of André’s clutches is a win in my book.
PHILIP: I’ll drink to that. Any word on André?
TONY: No, thankfully. Though, I’m sure that he’ll turn up sooner or later.
Philip nodded.
PHILIP: I also wanted to ask, since you were kind enough to help me after everything that’s happened, is there any way I can repay you?

HOPE & AIDEN’S HOUSE
Ciara sat in her bedroom and looked over some papers from the tour of Salem University earlier that day. Chase knocked on the door and came in.
CHASE: Hey.
CIARA: Hey. How was your date?
CHASE: Good. We saw the Mamma Mia sequel, it was fun.
CIARA: That’s good.
CHASE: So what are you doing?
CIARA: Oh, you know, looking over my options at Salem U.
CHASE: In regards to what? We already signed up for classes.
CIARA: Shut the door.
Chase shut the bedroom door.
CHASE: Okay, what’s going on?
CIARA: Look, don’t tell Mom or Aiden yet, okay, but I’m thinking about moving into the dorms. I’m just not sure how to tell them yet.

NICOLE & DANIEL’S APARTMENT
Nicole and Daniel were sitting on the couch, kissing each other.
NICOLE: You know, sometimes I can’t believe that I’m this lucky.
DANIEL: Well, believe it. What we have, Nicole, what we have is the real deal. And it is gonna last forever.
They went back to kissing each other. There was a knock at the door.
DANIEL: Just leave it.
NICOLE: Hey, no argument here.
Another knock came.
DANIEL: Go away! No one’s home!
More knocks came. Daniel and Nicole sighed.
NICOLE: Well, whoever it is, they didn’t seem to fall for it.
DANIEL: Unfortunately.
NICOLE: Well, go ahead and get it. And tell them to get lost.
DANIEL: It’s almost like you read my mind. Be right back.
Daniel got off the couch and walked to the door. Whoever was behind it continued knocking.
DANIEL: Coming! I’m coming!
Daniel opened the door. Behind it was a Hispanic man, about the same age as Daniel, if not slightly younger.
DANIEL: Can I help you?
MAN: I’ve been told Nicole Walker lives here. Is that correct?
DANIEL: Why are you looking for her?
MAN: She and I have some business to go over. Is she here?
Daniel eyed the man. There was something about him he didn’t like, but couldn’t put his finger on what it was. He didn’t break eye contact with the man.
DANIEL: Nicole, there’s someone here to see you.
Nicole had been checking her phone. She got up, put the phone in her pocket and walked over to the door. As soon as she saw the man, she jumped back.
NICOLE: Oh my god!

Wonder who that guy is. Nicole's father is dead, or at least I hope he really is.

I hope that's really Tony.

Ciara, just tell them. LOL

I'm so curious who's at the door. Is this the first time we've seen Nicole and Daniel in this story? I can't remember.

Uh oh. I have a bad feeling this has to do with Nicole's father, but I hope I'm wrong. Whatever it is, I hope she learns from the past and tells Daniel instead of keeping secrets.

I'm still not sure that this is Tony rather than Andre masquerading as Tony. Wonder waht Philip's other meeting is -- could Melanie have a problem with him?

Chapter 503

CHEZ ROUGE
TONY: While I appreciate the offer, it’s really not necessary.
PHILIP: It kind of is, though. I mean, you’ve been awesome to me during this whole thing. From teaching me how to dress like Peter to buying me time to get Melanie out of there. I have to repay you somehow. Especially after...you know, the incident back in ‘09.
TONY: As I’ve said before, what happened back then is forgotten. It wasn’t you, it was André and Stefano. As for helping you this time, putting a stop to André’s plans is something I am always happy to be a part of.
PHILIP: There must be something that I can do, though.
Tony thought for a few minutes.
TONY: Well, perhaps we may be able to come to an arrangement.

HOPE & AIDEN’S HOUSE
CHASE: Um...why don’t you just tell them? I mean, I’m planning on living in the dorms, too, so is Claire.
CIARA: I don’t want my mom to freak out.
CHASE: Hope is not gonna freak out.
CIARA: She did when I asked if Trix could sleep over on Black Friday.
CHASE: No, she didn’t. As I recall, she very calmly told you that she didn’t think it would be a good idea.
CIARA: Yeah, but on the inside, she was freaking out. And it’ll be the same when I tell her that I’m moving into the dorms.
CHASE: You don’t know that. Ciara, your mom isn’t gonna be upset just because you want to live in the dorms. I think she’ll be glad that you’re taking that step.
CIARA: I don’t know. I’m just not ready to tell them yet.
CHASE: Well, you’re kinda gonna need to get ready. First day of classes is September 3rd, and we’re supposed to move into the dorms the week before.
CIARA: I know. I’ll tell her by then.
CHASE: Okay.

NICOLE & DANIEL’S APARTMENT
MAN: Buenos dias, Miss Walker. My, my. You look just as lovely as you were described to me.
The man reached out a hand, but Nicole swatted it away.
NICOLE: Don’t you touch me. Don’t even think of coming near me!
The man put his hand back.
MAN: My apologies. It’s just, I was not sure this moment would ever come. My name is Dante-
NICOLE: I don’t give a damn what your name is! I already know who you are. You’re one of his men. Are you people just slow on the uptake or are you actually that stupid? He’s been dead for over fifteen years now! Move on! Get a life, and stop trying to mess with mine!
DANTE: I’m not entirely sure what you mean.
NICOLE: Oh, I think you know damn well what I mean! You look exactly like one of his boys. Actually, you look kinda like him. Eerily so, now that I think of it.
Daniel put a hand on Nicole’s shoulder.
DANIEL: Nicole, what’s going on?
NICOLE: This guy, this Dante or whatever his name is, he’s one of my father’s men. Every few years, one of them gives me a call, just to remind me that they’re still out there. Even though that sicko’s been dead for years, they’re still loyal to him. You must really be desperate to come see me in person. Desperate or stupid.
DANTE: I could do without the insult, thank you. However, I am not one of his men.
NICOLE: Yeah, right.
DANTE: As I was going to say, my name is Dante Mendez. You and I, Miss Walker, are half-siblings. I’m Paul Mendez’s son.

I knew this guy had something to do with Nicole's father. It remains to be seen if he's good or evil or if he's really Nicole's half brother.

I still am curious as to whether this is really Tony or not.

Ciara, this is a drama that doesn't have to happen. So what if Hope is upset? Just tell her!

Ciara has a fairly decent relationship with her mother. Not only that, she's 18. If she wants to move out, there's not a whole lot that Hope can do to stop her.

I'm curious about this arrangement that Tony has in mind. I'm hoping that is really Tony and not Andre.

Why would Dante reach out ot Nicole after all this time? I don't think I trust him. I'm glad that Nicole seems skeptical of him.

I like this alliance between Philip and Tony.

It's sad that Ciara can't talk to her mom about important things anymore.

Chapter 504

NICOLE & DANIEL’S APARTMENT
NICOLE: Get out! Get out of my apartment right now!
DANTE: Miss Walker, please. I am sorry if I’ve upset you. I just want to know more about our father.
NICOLE: Oh, you wanna know about our father, huh? You wanna know about Paul Mendez? Okay, here it is. He was a psychopath! He got off on making sexually exploitative films! He also drugged his own daughter and forced her, from the age of puberty, to take part in his sick fantasies! He was the lowest excuse for a man, and I use the term very, very loosely, that I have ever met, and I am thrilled every day knowing that he will never be able to hurt another young girl again! There you go. That’s all the info you need. Now get out!
DANTE: Wait, wait. Paul Mendez is dead?
NICOLE: And the world heaves a collective sigh of relief. Out, now!
DANTE: Just, indulge me one more moment, por favor. How did it happen?

PUERTO RICO - FLASHBACK
Paul Mendez had his own daughter in a headlock, a knife to her throat. It was a standoff. A few feet away, Jan Spears sat on the ground. John and Brady stood nearby. John put the duffle bag he was holding down.
PAUL: Good boy. That’s a good boy. See what a good boy your friend is?
Brady subtly looked over at Jan, whose hand was inching towards a gun which lay on the grass just next to her. Brady mouthed something to her. Jan glanced at him, but continued slowly moving her hand over. She picked up the gun and pointed it at Paul.
JOHN: Jan, no!
PAUL: Don’t do it, baby!
But it was too late! The gun went off.
PAUL: You bitch!
Jan shot the gun three more times. Paul fell to the ground, as did Nicole. John lept over to make sure Nicole wasn’t hurt. Thankfully, the bullet had only grazed her. Paul, however, was not so lucky.

HOSPITAL - PUERTO RICO - FLASHBACK
Sometime later, Paul lay in a hospital bed. He was losing blood and had just finished begging Nicole for help. Nicole got a wicked smile on her face.
NICOLE: Okay. I’ll help you out, Daddy.
PAUL: I knew it. I knew you couldn’t say no. That’s my girl, gonna help me.
Nicole chuckled.
NICOLE: You misunderstood me, Daddy. When I said I’d help you, I didn’t mean I’d get the cops off your back.
PAUL: What? What are you-
NICOLE: Oh, I’m gonna help you. I’m gonna help you out of this world. Know how? I’m gonna pray for you to die.
PAUL: Baby-
NICOLE: I want you to die, you hear me? Die, daddy! Die, you bastard! There’s a big park waiting for you in hell where you belong!
Paul began gasping for breath. The nurses ran in and began speaking to each other and Paul in Spanish.
PAUL: Nikki! Baby, please! I’m your father! Take the curse off me! Take it back!
NICOLE: I can’t take it back. I won’t lie for you ever again. I said I want you to die, and I meant it! Die, you bastard! For every sick thing you’ve ever done to me, to Mom, to Brandon, to that messed up kid out there! How many are there, you freak? Die! You hear me? Die now! I wanna be here when it happens! Let me see you die! Die, daddy! I want you to die! They may want to save you, but they don’t know you like I do. They don’t know the awful things you’ve done! Die, you sick, twisted psycho!
Paul’s breathing was getting heavier. The nurses kept shouting at Nicole to stop.
PAUL: No, Nikki! Take it back! I’m your father!
NICOLE: It’s all over for you, Daddy!
NURSE: Get out of here! Are you trying to kill him?
NICOLE: He doesn’t deserve to live, and I’m not leaving here until I’m sure he’s dead!
At last, Paul got one last burst of energy. He pushed the nurses up against the wall, jumped off of the bed, then turned to Nicole.
NICOLE: Come and get me you, sleaze! Ooh, come and get me, Daddy!
Nicole backed up, causing the door to open. Paul pointed, though no one knew whether it was to Nicole or Jan, who was standing with Shawn-D just outside the door.
PAUL: I’ll kill you!
The door closed.
NICOLE: It’s too late, you’re already dead!
Paul lunged at Nicole and grabbed her by the throat.
PAUL: You’re the one that’s gonna die! I’ll finish you off this time! I’m not gonna die, it’s you! I’ll...kill...you…
Paul gasped and fell backwards onto the hospital bed, letting go of Nicole in the process. Though he wouldn’t be pronounced as such until a few moments later, Nicole was right. He was dead.

NICOLE & DANIEL’S APARTMENT
NICOLE: Doesn’t matter. All that matters is that that psycho’s dead! Now, leave!
Dante opened his mouth to say something.
DANIEL: I believe my fiancee asked you to leave.
Dante glared at Nicole.
DANTE: This isn’t over.
He turned and walked away.

It looks like Dante is going to be out for revenge when he finds out what happened, if he doesn't already know. I wonder what his real purpose was in coming there.

I feel bad for Nicole having to relive her horrible past.
