The scene opens in the apartment of Ben Weston and Abigail Devereaux. Both are present.
Ben: Abby, you need to stay the hell away from Chad. He’s dangerous; he murdered Serena Mason in cold blood.
Abigail: How can you say that Ben? Serena’s body was just found last night. You don’t know any more than the police do!
Ben: He’s a DiMera, that’s all anyone in Salem needs to know.
Abigail: But why would he murder Serena?
Ben: Just listen to me Abby, if you stay in contact with Chad. He will hurt you and he will hurt our baby.
Abigail looks resigned to listening to Ben.
Abigail: Fine Ben, but if you think that you can use our baby as an excuse to get me to do or not do things, you’re sorely mistaken.
Ben looks angered by what Abigail just said.
Ben [raising his voice]: Just stay away from Chad DiMera!
Abigail: I’m going to stay at my mother’s until you calm down; the stress isn’t good for the baby!
Abigail turns and goes to walk away but Ben grabs her arm.
Abigail: OW, Ben!
Ben lets go of her arm and looks sorry.
Ben: Abby, I’m sorry.
Abigail: I’ll be at my mother’s.
Abigail exits the apartment and slams the door as Ben looks extremely angry. The next scene opens in the briefing room of Salem Police Headquarters. Police Commissioner Roman Brady and Detective Rafe Hernandez are present.
Roman: Any news on the case yet, Rafe?
Rafe: Can’t say there’s any good news. The only lead we have is that Chad DiMera was last seen with Serena Mason leaving Club TBD.
Roman: Did forensics come back with anything from the necktie that was used to strangle her?
Rafe: They couldn’t find any finger prints.
Roman: Damnit.
Rafe: What I don’t get is why Chad would want to kill her, he barely knew her.
Roman nods and ponders for a moment.
Roman: Witnesses at the Club did say that she slapped him didn’t they?
Rafe nods.
Rafe: That doesn’t exactly strike me as a reason for killing someone.
Roman: Me neither, Rafe. But it’s our only lead.
District Attorney Justin Kiriakis enters the room.
Justin: You boys better be going out to arrest Chad right this moment.
Roman: Excuse me?
Justin: You heard me; he is guilty of the murder of Serena Mason. You know it just as well as I do!
Rafe: Justin, we don’t have enough evidence to arrest Chad for anything.
Justin: He was seen with her leaving Club TBD!
Rafe: We are investigating that right now.
Justin: You better do something or I’ll have both of your jobs!
Justin storms out of the room as Rafe and Roman look at one another. The next scene opens in a courthouse where Xander Kiriakis is sitting in a holding room awaiting trial. Aiden Jennings enters a few moments later.
Xander: Who the hell are you?
Aiden: I’m Aiden Jennings; I’ve been assigned to you as your attorney.
Xander: Of course you have. Are you actually any good?
Aiden: Listen here Xander, I know what you did and I know that you’re a Kiriakis so you better smarten up. Your cousin is the district attorney and I can get him to put you in jail for the rest of your natural life!
Xander: You really think that MY cousin is going to put me in jail for the rest of my life?
Xander howls with laughter at the mere thought.
Xander: The Kiriakis family is all one in the same, I’m sure Uncle Vic has had a few people murdered in his day. He just didn’t do it himself so that’s why he was never punished!
Aiden: I must ask you Xander; do you want to go to prison? Justin's not pleased with what you've done.
Xander: My father won’t allow me to go to prison.
Aiden: Your father? You mean Titus Kiriakis? You really think he’s going to help you? He’s no better than you are!
Xander: Thus proving my point that all Kiriakis’s are the same. Anyway, that’s beside the point, I must ask you Mr. Jennings, what makes you think you can get me off?
Aiden: Listen here son, I’ve won over 200 cases in my 10 years as an attorney, some very similar in nature to yours. So I have a question for you, do you want my help or do you want to leave it up to daddy dearest to come to the rescue?
Xander looks as though he is pondering for a moment before chuckling.
Xander: I’ll take your help. Just know, my father is one phone call away and if you screw this up, you’ll pay.
Aiden looks nervous as he sits down
Aiden: Let’s get to work shall we.
Xander nods as Aiden begins laying out papers on the table.

) This will be set near the end of the summer around the beginning of the Necktie Killer storyline, just after Serena is murdered. My goal is to get to the Bicentennial Celebration which I already have planned out and will wrap up all ongoing storylines but if I do decide to continue on afterwards, I will use the Bicentennial as a launching pad for new storylines. It will feature an ensemble cast with popular Days characters and maybe even a few of my own created one. Keep in mind, at this point in the story we don't know who the Necktie Killer is.
