Ooh can't wait! I'm very curious about what Xander will do and hoping we get some good scenes surrounding Jens death.

Salem University Hospital

Abigail Devereaux continues screaming as she cradles her mother’s limp body. Dr. Daniel Jonas and Dr. Kayla Brady are the first two on the scene and are shocked at the scene they have stumbled across.

Kayla [choking back tears]: Abigail, come with me please darling.

Abigail: NO! YOU HAVE TO SAVE HER!

Kayla: Abby, she’s gone.

Abigail: DON’T SAY THAT!

Daniel tries to get Abigail away from Jennifer’s body as he gives Kayla a solemn look.

Daniel: Abigail, if you want us to save her, you need to let us check on her.

Abigail finally relents and lets go of Jennifer’s body as Kayla takes her out of the room. Daniel checks for Jennifer’s pulse even though he already knew that she was gone, he just thought that maybe there was some sliver of hope that she was still there. He is crying at this point.

Daniel: I’m sorry, Jennifer.

Several other doctors enter the room after this to collect Jennifer’s body.

Salem Police Headquarters

Roman Brady is in his office when he gets the call. He drops the phone and is in shock when Hope Brady enters.

Hope: Roman…what’s wrong?

Roman: It’s Jennifer.

Hope: What happened?

Roman: She’s…she’s…

Hope: She’s what Roman!?

Roman: She’s…dead…

Hope immediately breaks down crying.

Hope: What do you mean?!

Roman: The Necktie Killer…

Hope: You’re lying…

Roman: I would never lie about something like that. We have to go now.

Roman gets up from his desk, now crying as well and they exit the office and run into Rafe Hernandez.

Rafe: What’s the matter?

Hope: We gotta go.

Rafe: What’s the matter Hope?

Roman: Rafe, Jennifer’s dead.

Rafe is speechless with shock as he follows after Roman and Hope.

Club TBD

JJ Devereaux and Paige Larson are still at TBD socializing and joking around with one another when JJ’s cellphone rings. He answers it and suddenly begins crying and Paige looks extremely concerned.

Paige: What’s wrong JJ?

JJ doesn’t say a word and just hangs up the phone and stares straight ahead.

Paige: JJ…what is wrong?

JJ still doesn’t say anything and has tears streaming down his face. He stands up and grabs his jacket off the back of his chair.

Paige: JJ!

JJ turns to Paige.

JJ: My mother’s dead.

Paige: Oh my God!

JJ turns around and races out of TBD with Paige right behind him.

Kiriakis Mansion

The Kiriakis phone begins ringing when Maggie Kiriakis enters the room and answers it and after a moment she begins screaming. Victor Kiriakis enters the room.

Victor: What’s the matter, darling?

Maggie: It’s Jennifer! She was found dead!

Victor is shocked and the two grab their jackets and exit the mansion and head to the hospital.

Salem Penitentiary

Chad DiMera is sitting in his cell, looking resigned to his fate when an older looking guard named Rasmus approaches.

Rasmus: Looks like it’s your lucky day, kid.

Chad looks up at him.

Chad: What do you mean?

Rasmus: You’ve been cleared.

Chad: What? How?

Rasmus: Someone else was murdered by the Necktie Killer.

Chad: Do you know who?

Rasmus: Some Jennifer woman.

Chad looks shocked and immediately thinks of Abigail.

Chad: You have to let me go!

Rasmus: Got some paperwork to do first, kid.

Chad sighs as Rasmus walks off to get the paperwork.

I'm glad we saw everyone's reactions to Jennifer's death. Daniel and JJ's reactions were exactly what I expected and needed to see. I'm looking forward to Chad being there for Abigail.

Ben was sure stupid to kill someone else while the "killer" was in jail.

well I am sad Jennifer is dead, but glad the killer got sloppy and cleared Chad

Salem University Hospital

JJ Devereaux enters the reception area and sees his sister Abigail and rushes over to her and wraps her in a tight hug. Roman Brady enters a moment later and looks to be choking back tears.

Roman: Now I realize that this is one of our loved ones and great members of this community but we have to keep in mind, this is an active murder investigation so we need anyone that could have possibly seen anything to let the police know.

Abigail, still visibly shaken and crying stands up and everyone looks to her. Hope Brady puts her arm around her shoulder.

Hope: It’s okay.

Abigail: No it’s not okay!

Hope: Is there something that you saw?

Abigail nods and takes her off to the side to talk to her. Just then a tall, muscular African-American man in a police uniform enters and approaches Roman.

??: Are you Roman Brady?

Roman: Yes I am, and you are?

??: Ed Watson, Interim Commissioner of Salem PD.

Roman: Excuse me?

Ed: Mayor wants you and everyone that knew Ms. Horton off the case. Too close to home for you guys.

Roman is visibly getting angry.

Roman: Well you tell the Mayor that I said I don’t want to leave this case because it is so close to home!

Ed: I’m sorry but as of this moment, you are no longer the Commissioner of Salem PD. Now go mourn with the rest of our family.

Roman is extremely angry as he storms off to find Hope and Rafe.

Ben and Abigail’s Apartment

Ben Weston is seen placing a pair of black gloves in a drawer when there’s a knock at the door. He opens it and his father, Clyde Weston is standing there with a smirk on his face.

Clyde: You gonna invite me in?

Ben nods and Clyde enters.

Clyde: Is it done?

Ben: Of course it’s done!

Clyde: You do realize that everything will go downhill if she finds out.

Ben: You don’t think I know that? I’m not stupid! I took all the precautions to prevent that from happening.

Clyde: You’re sure?

Ben just sighs.

Ben: It’s going to be fine; she’s not going to find out.

Clyde: She better not! Look what happened when your mother found out!

Ben: Dad, please just get the hell out!

Clyde just chuckles and goes to exit but turns around.

Clyde: You don’t want her to find out!

Ben just slams the door shut in Clyde’s face and leans against it before sliding down it with his head in his hands.

St. Luke’s Church – Confessional Booth

Eric Brady is in the confessional booth at St. Luke’s church with Father Neal on the other side.

Eric: Forgive me Father, for I have committed a great sin against you.

Father Neal: What is it that you have done, my son?

Eric: Something so vile that I can’t even ever fathom doing.

Father Neal: My son…in order to be forgiven for your sins you must let them loose for God to hear.

Eric: God can already see and hear what I have done and He is not happy!

Father Neal: God is a forgiving God, my son.

Eric: No he isn’t! I’ve been punished over and over again!

Eric gets up and storms out of the confession booth. Father Neal is extremely concerned and goes to make a phone call to…Marlena Evans.

Salem Park

Xander Kiriakis is walking through the park, free on bail when his phone rings. He answers it and the person on the line begins talking.

Xander: So you’ll be here tomorrow?

He listens.

Xander: Perfect. See you tomorrow; we’ve got lots of work to do.

Xander hangs up the phone and smirks.

I wonder what Eric is feeling guilty about. I assume that the drunk driving accident didn't happen in this story since it's set around the Necktie Killings, though I could be wrong.

Also curious what Xander is up to.

And is this Ed whoever for real or some troublemaker?

Great chapter TJ !

Ed Watson is going to be a new character that takes over for Roman as Commissioner to investigate the Necktie Killings due to the fact that Roman and Hope are so close to the case now that a relative was killed. I did it this way because it kind of seems like what happens in a lot of the cop shows I watch lol Also, in this story the Mayor is not Abe in case you were wondering.

It is more realistic that they would all be pulled off the case
I like the twist with Clyde working with Ben but I am curious by what he meant when he said
"look at what happened to your mother when she found out"
I am assuming he is talking about the serial murders but is he implying that he taught ben all along how to be a ruthless killer and an abusive boyfriend?
it would be an interesting twist, I wonder how Jordan would react

Salem University Hospital

JJ and Abigail Devereaux are sitting in the waiting room with one another, crying when the door opens and Chad DiMera enters. Abigail looks up as does JJ.

JJ: What the hell are you doing here?

Chad: Listen, I heard what happened to your mother.

Abigail: Of course you did…you killed her!

Chad: Abby, I was in prison where your mother was killed. They let me out because of it.

JJ: Oh that’s freaking wonderful! You benefit from the death of our mother and now you’ve come to gloat about it. Why don’t you take a hike!

Chad: JJ, I came here because I want to be there for you two. I know what it’s like to lose my mother. I swear.

JJ stands up from his seat beside his sister and gets in Chad’s face.

JJ: Get the hell out of here.

Chad nods but looks to Abigail as he is leaving but she just stares at the floor in some kind of catatonic state.

Salem Coffee House

Xander Kiriakis is sitting drinking coffee and he looks at his watch.

Xander: He should have been here by now.

Suddenly, an older looking man with dark hair enters and sees Xander and smiles as he walks over and sits down. This man is Titus Kiriakis, Xander’s father.

Xander: Dad it’s great to see you!

Xander stands up and gives his father a hug and the two sit back down.

Titus: So I hear you got yourself in a little bit of trouble with the law.

Xander: Haven’t all the Kiriakis men?

Titus chuckles and nods.

Titus: I suppose you’re right. Now what is it that you’ve called me to Salem for?

Xander: Well you see, your brother Victor was the one that had me placed in prison in the first place.

Titus looks as though he could never fathom his brother doing such a thing before laughing.

Titus: My brother trying to screw someone over? I’ve never heard of such a thing!

Titus laughs once again.

Xander: So I wanted you here for when I finally get my revenge against him.

Titus: Oh there are a few things that I need to say to my dear old brother so we won’t have any problems with getting revenge.

The two laugh to one another as Kate Roberts is seen watching across the coffee house, looking suspicious.

Salem PD Headquarters

Ed Watson is in his office looking through evidence from Jennifer’s murder when there’s a knocking at the door. Ed opens it and Justin Kiriakis is standing with an angry expression on his face.

Justin: Let me get this straight, you released Chad DiMera from prison?!

Ed: We no longer had any reason to suspect that he was behind the murder of Serena Mason due to the fact that Jennifer Horton was murdered in the same manner while Mr. DiMera was behind bars.

Justin: You do know who the DiMeras are right!?

Ed: Mr. Kiriakis, I assure you that we are doing everything in our power to investigate these murders and we will find who is behind them.

Justin: It’s the DiMeras! This is part of some sick plan that they have to take over Salem!

Ed: Okay, Mr. Kiriakis, I’m going to have to ask you to leave my office. I don’t have time for this tomfoolery and shenanigans today. If you have an issue with this you can go see the Mayor.

Justin: I am the District Attorney; I could have your job!

Ed: I will say it one more time, Mr. Kiriakis, please leave my office.

Justin huffs and storms out of the office as Ed goes to sit back in his chair.

Ed: This place is crazier than I thought.

Salem University Hospital - Marlena’s Office

Marlena Evans is still reeling from the news of Jennifer’s death and the phone call she received from Father Neal but she looks to be researching something, she has papers strewn about her desk.

Salem University Hospital – Reception Area

Dr. Kayla Brady sits in a chair with a coffee in one hand and her face buried in her other. She is very clearly still distraught over Jennifer’s death when a male hand is placed on her shoulder. She looks up and sees…Steve “Patch” Johnson.

Steve: Sweetness.

Kayla smiles for the first time in what seems like days as she jumps up and hugs him.

Salem University Hospital – Reception Area

Kayla Brady has just finished hugging her husband Steve Johnson and she backs away from him.

Kayla: Steve…

Steve: I heard about Jennifer. That’s why I came back.

Kayla: But the ISA?

Steve: They completely understand the circumstances and agreed to put me on leave.

Kayla: Steve, I don’t want you to go back to the ISA.

Steve: Sweetness, that’s something we’ll talk about in due time but right now we need to find Abigail and JJ.

Kayla nods as the two walk off.

Salem University Hospital – Marlena’s Office

Marlena Evans continues her research when there’s a knock at the door.

Marlena: Come in!

The door opens and Father Neal enters.

Marlena: Father, I’m glad you could join me here.

Father Neal: Anything to help Mr. Brady. I must ask though, what is it that you think could have caused these emotional outbursts?

Marlena: Well Father, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. When did Eric first start coming in to the church again?

Father Neal: A few weeks ago, just shortly after that Serena Mason girl was so brutally murdered. God rest her soul.

Marlena nods.

Marlena: Has he ever said what he’s there for?

Father Neal: No but he tells me that he’s done something very bad that God will never forgive him for.

Marlena nods and writes something down.

DiMera Mansion

Stefano DiMera is sitting in his usual chair listening to classical music and drinking a glass of scotch when the door to the living room bursts open and Andre DiMera walks in with a sly smirk on his face. Stefano turns the music off.

Stefano: Has our prisoner given you anything yet?

Andre: Well father, that’s actually what I came to talk to you about.

Stefano lifts his eyebrow as he looks inquisitively at Andre.

Stefano: What do you mean?

Andre: Our prisoner…escaped.

Stefano throws his glass of scotch across the DiMera living room and it shatters against the wall.

Stefano: WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE HAS ESCAPED?!

Andre: Father, please. I was told just now that he escaped from captivity but he is still on the island.

Stefano: You know what that man is capable of!

Andre: Father, you know what we’re capable of. We will find him and we will make sure he never escaped again. Now, would you like another glass of scotch.

Stefano still looks angry.

Stefano: Find him…NOW!

Andre nods as he exits the room.

Hope’s House

Hope Brady is sitting on the couch in her house clutching a pillow to her chest when Aiden Jennings enters and rushes over to give her a hug.

Aiden: I heard what happened, with Jennifer and you getting taken off the case.

Hope: It’s ridiculous that Roman and I were pulled off the case. We could still find out who the sick son of a bitch is that killed my cousin.

Aiden: It’s okay Hope, I’m sure the new Commissioner will do a great job.

Hope: That’s not the point, Aiden! The point is that the Necktie Killer killed a member of my family and I’m being forced to step back and just accept the fact that I can’t help find the perpetrator.

Aiden brushes the hair out of Hope’s face and runs his hand across her tear-stained cheek. They look one another in the eyes as Aiden reaches into his back pocket.

Aiden: I know this might be a bad time but I’ve been planning this for months.

He gets down on one knee and pulls the ring out.

Aiden: Hope Brady…will you marry me?

Hope is too stunned for words and just begins crying as Aiden wraps his arms around her looking a bit deflated.

Hope [muffled]: Yes, Aiden. I will marry you.

Aiden breathes a sigh of relief as he continues to embrace his new fiancé.
