Is there a commercial that drives you crazy?
My current choices are Progressive insurance and the AT&T commercial about appreciation.

I hate Flo from the Progressive commercials.
I hate that commercials have gotten so violent. Most commercials seem to have something breaking, like smashing glass. Even the commercial about the phone bill getting cut in half shows people using chainsaws to do it.

Yeah the Progressive commercials were kind of funny at first but they are awful now. Those ones where the actress plays that whole weird family are CREEPY.
I also hate the commercials for Poise pads. You know the one where the woman starts talking to complete strangers about how much she loves SAM. Again - creepy.

You know the two commercials I really don't like? The Toaster Strudel commercial with the young CGI boy who flies through the window of a normal family's house and shouts, in an obviously bad fake Scandinavian accent shouts: "varm (warm), flaky, doughy (or, maybe gooey): Toaster STRUUUUUUDEL!"
There's also the current commercial (I'm not sure what for) where a group of kids sings the U.S. Presidents names to the tune of "Three Little Indians". The first time, it's cute, but the TV stations around here seem to have a compulsive need to play this commercial literally every time they take a commercial break!

I never saw that second commercial Andre.
I really hate the new Progressive commercials. They are not funny. They are sick and sadistic. They show people wanting to kill Flo. This is an insurance company???

The Cottonelle commercials that talk about clean bums and going commando.

These days I abhor the Quilted Northern commercials that talk about inanimate objects that can't look away and wish to be put out of their misery. Ugh. They run it all the time during DOOL.

You know what current commercial I really can't stand? Those horrible Bush's Baked Beans commercials. The ones with Jay and Duke were great, I wish they still showed those. However, the current ones feature a random guy in a grocery store facing a huge dilemma over which can of beans to buy. Seriously, this guy is WAY too overly enthusiastic about buying beans! Just buy a can of beans and get on with it! The actor is so hammy! Normally, I don't mind a bit of overacting, but this guy really grates on me!

This is silly but it just annoys me everytime I see it. There's this commercial for frozen pizza - I think the brand is bon appetit - they describe what's so great about it, like the "crispness of the thin crust, etc. Then they say something like "the wholeness of cherry tomatoes." What??? The wholeness? What exactly does that mean? That you don't slice them? What's so great about it? It's just such a lame description it sounds like whoever wrote thought, "I'll just slip that in there and no one will notice."

I saw the most annoying commercial for Slomin's Home Security the other day. These two claymation robbers were getting frustrated that they couldn't hit any houses because everyone had a sign up saying protected by Slomin's, then one of the robbers decides he is going to get Slomin's too so that his house doesn't get robbed while he's out committing crimes. Among other things, why are they using claymation for this stupidly premised commercial?

The superbowl had a commercial for Nationwide and it had a little boy who died in a car accident saying all the things he couldn't do now. To me it was a slap in the face to all of the parents who lost a child and they didn't have to go there.

I absolutely DETEST this commercial. It's for Phoenix University and it plays several times during Days. I find the "If I only had a brain" parody extremely condescending and a big old turnoff. I guess I'm not the target audience for this commercial. I mean why would someone say to a potential employer "If you only had a brain."

However every time they say "Phoenix rises" at the end I assume André runs the school and that makes me feel better.

This right here. I agree with you 110%, Kpatch and heroicmuse! This commercial is SO annoying! At first, I didn't even know it was for Phoenix University. I had no idea what it was about. But, it is super condescending! All of the people in here look so smug, especially the lady who actually looks up at the camera. Man, I hate this commercial!
