Chapter 8
POLICE STATION
Bo and Hope are looking at the computer.
HOPE: No way. Maison Blanche has been rebuilt.
BO: Stefano's house of horrors in the bayou. Who on earth would pay to have that place redone?
HOPE: It doesn't say. It just says that the funds for the rebuilding process were provided by an anonymous donor.
BO: Someone obviously didn't want to know that it was them that helped.
HOPE: Brady, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
BO: I think so. But, this time, you wear the tutu.
HOPE: What? Oh, nevermind. What I was thinking is, we should go to Maison Blanche to see if that's where Princess Gina is.
BO: Wouldn't it be more practical to find out if she is there rather than just going without confirmation that she's there?
HOPE: Of course it would. But, for all we know, she may be planning her next scheme at this very moment. We would have a tactical advantage if we found her first.
BO: Assuming she doesn't have her grand plan thought out already.
HOPE: Good point. But, we should still leave as soon as possible. I'll go arrange our flight.
Hope walked out the door and dialed her phone.
MAISON BLANCHE
A Russian man in his early 30s answered his phone, which was ringing.
MAN: Why are you calling me if you're already here?
POLICE STATION
HOPE: What are you talking about? Of course I'm not there.
MAN (over phone, VO): Stop talking in stupid American accent, Princess. It does not suit you.
Hope, who all this time has been Princess Gina, clears her throat.
GINA: Better?
MAN (VO, over phone): Much.
GINA: Now, Koslov, let's be serious. You know that I'm not there. How can I be when I'm in Salem?
MAISON BLANCHE
KOSLOV: Well, someone who looks identical to you is here and she has all your staff believing she is you.
A second Princess Gina walks through the door.
GINA II: Yuri, who is that on the phone?
The man known as Koslov (full name: Yuri Koslov) looked at this second Gina.
KOSLOV: I have to go.
Koslov hung up the phone.
