On their date, dinner isn’t the only thing Jennifer and Daniel are cooking.
Thursday
Jennifer and Daniel discuss their relationship.
Friday
Bill and Daniel confer on an emergency at Salem University Hospital.

JENNIFER’S OFFICE, SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Jennifer is on the phone.
Jennifer: Yes, that’s right. That would be great. I owe you one. Thanks Jim.
She hangs up the phone and there’s a knock on the door.
Jennifer: Come in.
Lucas enters and Jennifer rushes to greet him with a hug.
Jennifer: Lucas! What are you doing here? I had no idea you were in town.
Lucas: I just got in.
Jennifer: What brings you back to Salem?
Lucas: You do.
Jennifer: Me?
Lucas: I hear you’re involved with Daniel Jonas.
Jennifer: That’s right. But you heard about that all the way in Hong Kong? Slow news day?
Lucas: Mom told me.
Jennifer: Your mother? Why does she care? Oh that’s right. She’s run out of her own kids’ lives to interfere in. Well you’re not missing anything. It’s not like we’re getting married tomorrow.
Lucas: Married? Don’t even joke about marrying that loser. It’s not funny.
Jennifer squints at Lucas.
Jennifer: Loser? What are you talking about? He’s a very successful ...
Lucas: ... Lothario.
Jennifer: Lothario? Is that another Hernandez brother?
Lucas: Jennifer, this isn’t a joke. There are things you need to know about Daniel Jonas.
Jennifer: I already know what I need to know. He’s smart. He’s a brilliant surgeon. He’s sweet and kind and sensitive ...
Lucas: He seduced Chloe and broke up my marriage to her.
Jennifer: No, that can’t be.
Lucas: It’s the truth. I’m not makin’ it up.
Jennifer: I’m sure it was Chloe’s fault. I mean, from what I know about her, she’s a serial cheater.
Lucas: She’s no saint and for sure she played a part in it all, but Daniel went after her while she was married to me. Before that, he dated both my mother and Chelsea at the same time. He’s a shmuck and he has no conscience.
Jennifer: Wow, if that’s what you came all the way from China ...
Lucas: Hong Kong.
Jennifer: ... Hong Kong to tell me, you really wasted your time.
Jennifer opens her office door.
Jennifer: I’m a grown woman and I can handle myself.
Lucas: Getting involved with Daniel is a big mistake.
Jennifer: I love you, Lucas, and I truly appreciate you caring so much about me. But I would advise you to leave the meddling to your mother. I have to get back to work.
Lucas walks out the door and turns back around to face Jennifer.
Lucas: Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Just be careful.

Great chapter kpatch. I could just see Jen and Lucas as I was reading it. I am hoping that Jen listens because I am not crazy about Daniel and the way he treats people.

At least Jennifer now knows the truth. Now whatever relationship she decides to have with Dr Dan will be based on truth...

So many things to comment on. Your dialogue is spot on, as always. Jennifer was so funny. This story keeps making me laugh and I absolutely LOVE it!
I am happy she already knows about the Chloe Lucas Chloe Daniel situation on the show.
Thanks for another great chapter!

Guess what JKJPatch ... I know you will be utterly shocked but I utterly LOVE this story!!!  Jennifer is going to be eating a lot of crow... and the way she is treating her father, I'm not going to feel sorry for her when she catches something from the sleazy doc. I'm so excited for the return of the silver fox! ... and the only thing that could make me even happier is the return of his son - LUCAS!!!!!!!! |

Great story jkjpatch!!! Loving that Lucas came back for his sister, but I'm glad that Jennifer is thinking for herself and now she can make more informed decisons regarding her relationship with Daniel.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL COMMISSARY
Kate is sitting at a table having a cup of coffee. Bill comes into the cafeteria and sees her.
Bill: Hello Kate.
Kate: Bill. I heard you were back in Salem. Do you have time to sit with me?
He sits across from her.
Bill: Do you ever age? You look stunning.
Kate: Dr. Horton, you are such a sweet talker! Are you trying to seduce me?
Bill laughs.
Bill: That would be a death wish, my dear. I hear you’re married to Stefano DiMera of all people.
Kate: That’s right. I’m waiting for him right now. He has an appointment with his endocrinologist. He has diabetes.
Bill: He must be holding something big over your head for you to have married him.
Kate: Same old Bill. You never mince words.
Bill: I’m a doctor. I don’t have time to mince words. I never know when I might get called away.
Kate: Did you know that Lucas is in town?
Bill: I didn’t know that. That gives me an idea. Let’s all get together. You, me, Lucas, Jennifer.
Kate: Only if Jennifer promises not to bring Daniel with her.
Bill: I’m pretty anti-Daniel too.
Lucas walks up to the table.
Lucas: Make that three of us.
Bill smiles, stands up and embraces Lucas.
Bill: Good to see you son. Sit down.
Lucas: This is weird.
Kate: What’s weird, sweetie?
Lucas: I just had an odd image of what Sunday night dinners might have been like. This is the first time the three of us have ever sat down at a table together.
Bill: You look terrific.
Lucas: Thanks Dad. Good genes.
Kate sips her coffee and speaks coyly.
Kate: Your father and I were just saying how nice it would be to get together, the three of us. And Jennifer. Have you seen her since you’ve been in town?
Lucas: You know what? I just came from her office and I can’t believe it. Yet another woman seduced by the great and powerful Dr. Daniel Jonas.
Just then, Daniel is walking by. He hears his name and turns around.
Daniel: Someone looking for me?
