POOL DECK
Wesley: A paternity test? What the hell is going on here? You needed a paternity test to prove I’m your son? ... Oh my god. Mom! You cheated on my dad??? Philip and Chloe exchanged worried glances. Wesley: Or maybe this man isn’t really my dad. Chloe: Wesley, honey please calm down. Wesley: Calm down? Why should I? My whole life is a lie and I’m just finding this out now? Philip: Okay, that’s enough! Quit the histrionics, will you? Faith: Ooh, a twenty dollar word for Dad. Philip: Quiet you. Wes, if you read the paternity test results you can see it proves that I’m your father. Wesley: Whatever. Chloe: Faith, what are you doing? Faith: Um, nothing. Chloe: You’re doing something under the table there. What is it? Faith: Um. Just vid-sting on my iCam. Philip: Turn that video off. Our lives don’t need to be broadcast over the internet ... any more than they already have been. Wesley: I’ve had enough! I’m out of here. Chloe: Wesley, don’t go. Philip! Go after him. Philip: Okay, okay. Faith: Looks like Mom has some explaining to do. This oughta be good. Chloe: Oh Faith, what am I going to do with you? I remember my mother once telling me she hopes I have a daughter just like me. I think maybe I do. Faith: So who did you cheat on Dad with? Was he hot?
Out in the garage, Wesley was starting his car when Philip jumped into the passenger seat. Wesley: Get out of my car. Philip: Don’t speak to me like that. Wesley: I need to be alone for a while. Philip: Not like this. I’m not letting you out of my sight. What are you going to do? Go get drunk or something? Wesley: Maybe. Philip: I don’t want you to drive angry. Wesley peeled out of the garage and started driving down the street. Philip: I can call Security, you know. The guard at the gate will stop you. You won’t get anywhere. Wesley: I’m not looking to leave Sunrise. I ... I just need to see Emmy. I need to be with her. Philip: She’s the one you turn to when the going gets tough, huh? Wesley: I guess. Philip: You really love her, don’t you? Wesley: More than anything. Philip: I know how you feel. Wesley: Must have killed you when you found out mom cheated on you. Philip: Listen to me Wes. Before you go see Emma, we should talk. We probably should have talked about this sooner, but it’s the kind of thing ... well, you just don’t know when it’s the right time to talk about something like this. Or if you even should. Wesley: I hate her. Philip: Who? Wesley: Mom. Philip: No you don’t. It’s not as bad as it sounds. Wesley: Oh really? Then why run a paternity test? Philip: Well, I’d like to say that paternity tests were standard for every kid born in Salem, but ... Pull over. Come on, Wes. Park the car, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know. Wesley pulled into a parking spot about a half a mile from their house. Philip handed him the memory book he had brought with him. Philip: Here. You didn’t read the whole thing. Read it.

I wonder if finding out the truth will make Wesley feel better or worse. He needs to hear the whole truth now. LOL at Faith asking Chloe if the guy she cheated with was hot. Life in Florida definitely isn't drama free.

WESLEY’S CAR
Philip: Pull over. Come on, Wes. Park the car, and I’ll tell you everything you want to know. Wesley pulled over and parked about a half a mile from their house. Philip handed him the memory book he had brought with him. Philip: Here. You didn’t read the whole thing. Read it. Wesley looked at the entry that Philip pointed to, and he started to read.
Chloe's Memory Book: Where were we when Wesley’s paternity test results came in? Again, this is going to be for your eyes only, Philip. I don’t think I will share it with our children, because it’s really personal, and I’m not sure I want Wesley to know that we ever thought anyone but you could have been his daddy.
The day after we made love at the Marriott, we went to the Cleveland Clinic to get the results of the paternity test. We were in the waiting room when the lab technician brought in the paper with the results written on it. Here’s what happened.
Philip: Okay, you were right. I’m secretly hoping that Parker is my son. And I’m going to be one disappointed godfather if he’s not really mine. So … you read it. Chloe unfolded the piece of paper and looked at it. She let out little gasp and tears filled her eyes. Chloe: I think you’ll be happy with the results, Philip. Your intuition was right. Philip: Are you saying that he’s my ... Chloe: Here. See for yourself. Philip took the piece of paper from Chloe and read it. Then he took Parker out of Chloe’s arms and kissed him. Philip: Hey big guy. Guess what? I’m your dad. Yeah, I really am. And I promise you that I’m going to do right by you. I’m going to give you everything, everything you could ever want. Especially … me. I loved you from the minute you were born, Parker, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to be a good father to you. You’ve got me, and I promise I won’t let you down. I won’t let you down either, Chloe. You can count on me. Philip held Parker tightly and tears began to run down his cheeks. Chloe put her arms around the both of them.
Chloe’s Memory Book: And just in case you think I’m not sentimental, I saved the results.
Wesley: I don’t understand. It sounds like you thought I was someone else’s kid but you were hoping I was yours. I figured you would have thought I was your kid, but you found out I might not be. This isn’t making any sense. Philip: I guess it’s a little confusing. And I’m sorry you found out this way instead of hearing about it directly from me and your Mom. We talked about telling you from time to time, but there didn’t seem to be any point to it. You were a contented kid and telling you about it wouldn’t have changed anything. Wesley: You mean because either way, you’re my bio dad. Philip: Exactly. Wesley: Still seems like something you should have told me. Philip: Maybe. But it’s hard to know the right age for a kid to hear about something like this. Frankly, I totally forgot that the paternity test was part of the memory book. Guess my own memory isn’t what it used to be. Wesley: Well you’re old now. I mean 44 is getting up there. Philip: Thanks kid. You’re great for my ego. Wesley: So are you gonna tell me what happened? Why did you forgive Mom for cheating on you? Philip: Because, she didn’t cheat on me. Wesley: Huh? Philip: She didn’t cheat on me. She cheated with me. Wesley: What??? Philip: See ... we were both in other relationships when you were conceived. Your mom was engaged to someone else and I was married to someone else. Wesley: To Belle? Philip: Um, no. Belle was my first wife. Wesley: To Melanie? Philip: Right. To Melanie. Wesley: She was pretty hot. I saw that sex tape on the ‘Net. Philip: Don’t remind me. Justin tried to file an injunction, but it was too late. That thing went viral. Wesley: Quality wasn’t great but I could tell she was really cute. And you weren’t so bad yourself when you were young. Philip: Wes! Can we focus here? Wesley: Sorry. What were we talking about? Philip: The paternity test. Wesley: Oh right. You and mom cheated on Melanie and ... Uncle Lucas? Philip: No, not Lucas. Wesley: Brady? Philip: Um, no. Wesley: That doctor dude? The one who’s married to ... Philip: Daniel. Daniel Jonas. Your mom was engaged to him. Wesley: I thought they were married. Philip: They got married. Wesley: While she was pregnant with me? Philip: Right. Wesley: Weird wild stuff. Philip: I know. Look son, I’m not advocating affairs or cheating. It’s not right to cheat on your partner. Wesley: So essentially, I was a mistake. I’m the result of a one-night stand. Philip: It may have started out as a one-night stand, but it obviously didn’t end up that way. Wesley: Hold on a second. Did you ... did you and mom get married because of me? Did you guys feel obligated to get married because you had a kid together? Philip: No, not at all. I mean, yes, if you have a child, getting married is the right thing to do. Wesley: Wow, you sure had me fooled. Philip: Listen Wes, before you go and jump to any more conclusions, let’s go back home. Let’s read the rest of the memory book together, as a family. Then you’ll know exactly how your mom and me really feel about each other.
