That’s happened to me too, kpatch. Even when Ron misplaces something and I didn’t see where he left it, I can usually find it. I think it’s because women have more patience to search for things than men do.

I really loved this exchange:

Chloe: It’s one thing learning about it, it’s another thing ... oh my god. Is Wesley having ... with Emma?
Philip: Yes he is. But you didn’t hear it from me.

Even though Wes had told Philip about his sexual relationship with Emma, apparently in confidence, when Chloe asked Philip, he didn’t lie. He knows by now that keeping secrets between them always leads to trouble. I think this shows how far they’ve come as a couple.

Glad you all could relate to that chapter.

POOL DECK

Philip, Chloe, Wesley and Faith sat around the outdoor dining room table and the teens read the notebooks.

Faith: You’re freaking sh!tting me!
Chloe: Faith!
Faith: Oops, sorry. I forgot I’m with you guys, and not my friends. Mom, why would you give Dad the time of day when he treated you like crap. Did you have such low self-esteem?
Chloe: Well, yes, actually, I did.
Faith: Dad, why were you so mean to Mom?
Philip: Hey, I was a kid. I was your age, 15 or 16. I admit it. I was a jerk who was bending to peer pressure because I didn’t want the other kids to know how attracted to your Mom I really was.
Wesley: Because Mom wasn’t one of the cool kids?
Philip: Exactly. Take that as a lesson, kids. Don't let your friends run your life.
Chloe: But your father made up for it. He was the first person who made me feel like I belonged. He made me see myself differently. He made me feel special. [Chloe slipped her hand into Philip’s and looked at him adoringly.] He rocked my world. And he still does.
Faith: Aw. You guys are da bomb. Even though you’ve been married for like a thousand years, you’re still so much in love. I hope someday, I’ll find love like yours.
Chloe: You will, cupcake.
Faith: Where’s the part about the tree carving? Is that in here? You told me the story before and I want to read about it. I think that story is my favorite.
Chloe: It's in there.
Wesley: Wait a second. What’s this?
Chloe: What?
Wesley: Something about a kid named Parker. Hey, isn’t that my given name?
Faith: So?
Wesley: There’s a piece of paper clipped to the notebook and it’s ... about me.
Philip: Wes, wait. Before you look at that, we need to explain something.
Wesley: A paternity test? What the hell is going on here? You needed a paternity test to prove I’m your son? Oh my god. Mom! You cheated on my dad???
Philip and Chloe exchanged worried glances.

I suspect both Philip and Chloe forgot about the paternity test results being clipped to the notebook. I wonder how Wesley will react to what he finds out. Poor kid is absolutely shocked.

It's funny how kids don't realize their parents did stupid things like that when they were young. Of course, it is hard for most kids to believe their parents were ever that young!
