FIESTA KEY BEACH

That night, after the vow renewal ceremony, Wesley and JJ hosted a campfire cookout. Guests gathered round the fire and shared memories of years gone by. Chloe and Philip’s grandchildren asked to read the memory books, Faith wanted to hear the tree-carving story again, Robert (Faith and JJ’s son) wanted to hear about the bucket of blood that Philip got doused with, and Hanna (Wesley and Emma’s daughter) was more interested in learning more about their nicknames.

Hanna: Grampa’s pet name for Gramma was Opera Girl, and Gramma’s pet name for Grampa was Soldier.
Robert: Read the part about the blood. That’s my favorite part.
Hanna: Ew.
Robert: It’s so cool that you took a bucket of blood for Grams, Grampa.
Chloe: Someday you’ll have to get your grandfather to tell you about the time he took a bullet for an ex-girlfriend.
Philip: Hey, I’d have done the same for you.
Chloe rolled her eyes.
Chloe: You’re so romantic, Philip.
Faith: Okay, Mom and Dad, ready for your big surprise?
Philip: There’s more? I thought a wedding and a cookout under the stars was plenty.
Wesley: You forgot to mention the bonfire.
Philip: Yeah well, if I wasn’t a Major General, we’d be in big trouble. The military planes might mistake the bonfire for a distress signal.
Chloe: It’s not that big.
Philip looked at Chloe and put his arms around her.
Philip: You want it bigger?
Wesley: And you used to say I had a short attention span. Come on you guys. ... The surprise?
Chloe: Oh! Yes! I want my surprise!
Wesley: Then look up. Look up to the heavens.
All eyes turned upward to the night sky as a fireworks display began. Chloe’s mouth fell open.
Philip: Wow! You kids did this for us?
Wesley: Yep. Cleared it with the Base.
Philip: See, sweetie, you always said the Marines had no soul.
Chloe: Guess I was wrong. This is amazing. It’s beautiful.
Philip: It really is.
Faith: Just keep watching.
Amid the fireworks, a video hologram appeared in the sky.
Faith: Mom and Dad, this is your life ... in chronological order.

Loved the video. It was really cool seeing the scenes from their courtship and some of my favorite adult Phloe scenes. I really liked the still pictures at the end of the video. Thanks Kpatch and Shi for creating the video.

I liked the grandkids wanting to hear more stories about Chloe and Philip.

FIESTA KEY BEACH, AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO

Chloe: I don’t know what to say. That was amazing.
Wesley: Keep watching, Mom.
The spectacle continued, as one after the other, the sky exploded with fireworks. Electric colors lit up the night sky as the family oohed and aahed at the light show. After about 10 minutes, a rocket went up into the air and exploded into a cavalcade of colors, spelling out “Happy 40th Anniversary.”
Philip: Wow! Now that is really something! Thanks kids. I mean it.
Faith: There’s more. Wait for it.
The next rocket flared into the sky and slowly sparkled into the shape of a heart. Within the sparkling heart were the words “P & C 4 Ever.” Chloe’s hands covered her mouth and tears streamed down her cheeks. She looked over at Philip and tears were rolling down his face too. Chloe leaned into Philip and he kissed her hair and hugged her tight.
Philip: Come here, sweetie.
Chloe: Look at me, I’m a mess.
Philip: Happy tears, right?
Chloe: Happy tears. ... Oh Philip, we’ve been so blessed.
Philip: Yes, we have.
Chloe: I love you so much Philip.
Philip pressed his lips against Chloe’s cheek. He closed his eyes and whispered.
Philip: I love you more.
Chloe: I seriously doubt that.
Philip: Hey, remember how we were talking this morning about regrets?
Chloe: Uh huh.
Philip: I said I regretted that it took us so long to get together, and you said we’ve made up for lost time.
Chloe: And?
Philip: And you’re right. You’ve definitely made it up to me ... by spending these last 40 years of my life by my side.
Chloe: You make it sound like it’s over.
Philip: Over? Hell no. It’s far from over. The way I see it, the best days of our lives are yet to come.

jkjpatch, I LOVE this story. In my opinion, this has been your best one so far! I was starting to get tears of happiness in the last few chapters, because they are just so sweet! I absolutely love your version of Philip and Chloe! They are great together! I'm sad to see that this story is ending. But, really, to me, it feels like it is not ending, but only beginning.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store next for us, jkjpatch. Thank you for sharing this amazing story!

This was an absolutely perfect ending to the story. This story was such a beautiful way to end this amazing saga. Thank you so much Kpatch for writing this fantastic 10 story saga. I loved seeing them make it through so many obstacles to their happiness at the beginning of their marriage. It was awesome to find out about their lives with their kids through 40 years.

I loved the fireworks and the heart with the P&C 4 Ever was so touching. This Phloe fan loved it!!

I look forward to more adventures for Philip and Chloe in new stories to come.
