This story is really interested I hate to say this but Melanie can't blame anybody but herself for what happeneded between her and A.J.She should have NEVER slept with him unless she at least knew his full name and if he was single or what. I mean I know he is but for all Melanie knew he could've been married! Great story can't wait to read MORE!

The earliest that the hormone can be detected is 4 to 6 days before your expected peroid. I know we do the test 16 days after embryo transfer to see if the pregnancy took. I just laughed at all the choices that Mel had in tests.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Melanie started giggling and the giggling turned into all-out laughter and she could hardly catch her breath. “What are you talking about? Are you a soap opera writer or something? What kind of story are you making up about me?”
“The guy in the bar. The one who looked like he was going to kill me when he pulled my hand off your arm. He’s your husband. I guess I thought you were joking at the bus stop when you asked how I knew you weren’t married. My mistake.”
“I’m not married.”
“Then who was the neanderthal in the bar?”
“The neanderthal is my father.”
“Oh crap. Sorry about that. But ... I mean … you’re not married?”
“No. But …”
“But what?”
“But … I was. I used to be married, but we got divorced.”
“You say that like you’re the only one who ever got divorced. Half of everybody gets divorced. It’s no great shame.”
“It’s no great honor either.”
“Is that … is that the reason you don’t want to get involved with someone? With me? Because, I really like you Melanie. Call me crazy, but I felt a real connection. And I’m not just talking about sex.”
“I know. I felt it too.” A.J. instinctively moved toward Melanie and nearly knocked her off her feet by kissing her hard. He wrapped his arms around her to steady her balance and lifted her off her feet as they continued to kiss. Her shoes fell off her feet and onto the floor before A.J. set her down.
Back on solid ground, Melanie caught her breath and gently pushed him away. “You shouldn’t have done that.”
“You are one confusing chick.”
“I don’t mean to be. But I can’t see you, A.J. We can’t be together.”
“You just said we have something special. This doesn’t have to be complicated, Melanie.”
“It already is. Because of your name.”
“A.J.? If you don’t like it, I’ll change it.” He winked at her. “You could call me Alexander. Lots of people do.”
Melanie involuntarily let out a laugh, charmed by this guy that she was trying so hard not to like. “Not your first name. Your last name.”
“Kiriakis? That’s a little harder to change. Once you get used to it, it’s not that hard to pronounce. Try it.”
“I know how to pronounce it. Because ... It was my name too … once,” she said softly.
“What? Melanie Kiriakis?” The light dawned. “Oh sh!t. You were married to my cousin Philip. My mom wrote me and told me all about that.”
Melanie nodded. “That’s why I can’t be with you. I can’t deal with any more Kiriakises.”
“You’re kidding, right? You’re going to punish me because of what my asshole cousin did to you? That doesn’t seem fair.”
“Don’t call him that. It wasn’t entirely his fault. I mean … just that ... it wasn’t all his fault.”
“I’ve studied marital law and I know it usually takes two. ... Gad, you’re so young to have been married and divorced.”
“Maggie calls me an old soul. Do you know Maggie?”
“Yeah, she’s a very wise woman. Hey, do you know how my parents met?”
“No,” Melanie said wondering why every word out of his mouth charmed her more and more.
“My mom was sitting on a bench crying and my father stopped to ask if she was okay. Sound familiar?”
“You’re making that up.”
“God’s honest truth. Ask anyone.”
“What are you saying, A.J.?”
“Just that some things were meant to be, and you shouldn’t try to fight them.”
Melanie looked up at A.J. with damp eyes and thought to herself, what the heck. In an instant, she threw her arms around him and locked her lips with his and she knew she would learn to love again.
The End

This Melanie is more fun than the drab one she has become. I also would love to see everyone's reaction to her dating AJ.

I am sure hoping there is a Part 2 to this story (Parts 3,4,5, ect would be super) Love the way it ended with AJ and Mel. Now I want to know what happens next ( wedding, baby ?) It was just so great to have my old Mel back. I have really missed her. Thanks Kpatch.
