Chapter 49 ST LUKE'S It is now the morning of Marlena's funeral. Her direct family had come early to help with the final preparations. Now, guests were filing in more quickly. As with her Father's funeral, Sami had been allowed out of jail for her mother's funeral. SAMI: Well, I didn't think we'd be in this situation again this quickly. LUCAS: And let's hope the next time you're out it's for a good reason. Sami and Lucas hugged. André and Johnny walked in. André sat in the back row, but Johnny went to sit with his family. John was the first to notice André's presence. JOHN: Tony? What are you doing here? I thought you were dead? ANDRÉ: Yes, well you were meant to, weren't you? Another one of Stefano's very convincing tricks. But I can assure you, John, I am very much alive. I've been out of the country for a while. But, when I heard that it was Marlena that had been killed by this serial killer, I just had to come. JOHN: thank you. That's very nice. Wait a minute, how did you know about the serial killer? Johnny sat by his brother, sisters, mother, and Lucas. JOHNNY: Isn't it wonderful? All of us together again. WILL: What are you planning, Johnny? JOHNNY: I'm not planning anything. Uncle Antony and I are simply here to pay our respects. LUCAS: Tony? But, Tony's dead. JOHNNY: No, no. He's alive and doing very well. LUCAS: Well, I think we should just pay him a visit, then. Lucas and Sami stood up. Johnny moved over to sit next to Sydney. JOHNNY: So, my dear little sister, it's been a long time. SYDNEY: What do you want, Johnny? Johnny chuckled darkly. JOHNNY (whispering): I know what you did. I saw you. Sydney turned to look at him. SYDNEY: It was you. And that's when it happened. That's when I made my most terrible mistake.

Chapter 50 ST. LUKE'S SYDNEY: It was you. You did this to me. JOHNNY: Oh, quiet down, Sydney. I did nothing. You did this to yourself. SYDNEY: How could you? JOHNNY: How could I? How could you?! (whispering) You killed our father, Sydney. Five years ago, when you were ten years old, you killed him. SYDNEY: You have no idea what he did to me. How much he hurt me. JOHNNY: I don't care what he did to you. All I care is what you did to him. If anything, I have done you a favor. I have shown you your true self. Sydney stood up and ran out of the church. Sami, Lucas, and André were talking as she passed. ANDRÉ: That must be your daughter. SAMI: Yeah, it is. LUCAS: Looks like something's wrong. I'll go talk to her. SAMI: No. I'll talk to her. I'm her mother. I need to be here for her while I can. Sami got up and went looking for Sydney. She didn't have to look very far. When she got to the bathroom, she heard someone crying. SAMI: Sydney? Sydney, it's your mom. Sydney came out of one of the stalls. SAMI: Sydney, what's wrong? SYDNEY (whispering): I remember. SAMI: What? SYDNEY (crying): I remember everything. THE PIER – FLASHBACK E.J. is standing at the edge of one of the docs. A ten year old Sydney stands in front of him with a gun. Sami is watching from behind a wooden crate. Behind another wooden crate is a twelve year old Johnny. E.J.: What are you doing here, sweetheart? SYDNEY (Stryker): I came here to get my revenge. E.J.: What do you mean? SYDNEY (Stryker): Here's the thing, DiMera, I never forget. I remember everything. All the times you've hurt Sydney. All the times you've caused her pain. Both physically, mentally, and emotionally. You know why I'm even around? Because Sydney needed someone to protect her. And, I gave her that. Congratulations, E.J. You created me. And now, you're gonna pay. Sydney held the gun up in front of E.J. E.J.: Sydney, put the gun down. SYDNEY (Stryker): Never. E.J.: Listen to me, Sydney! Put the gun down! SYDNEY (Stryker): No way. E.J.: Just calm down. I can make this all better. SYDNEY (Stryker): No, you can't! No one can! Especially not you! You did this to me! To her! But, I am gonna make sure that you can never hurt Sydney ever again! E.J.: What? What are you talking about? Sydney pulled the trigger five times. Five bullets went into E.J.'s chest. E.J. collapsed and fell off the dock and into the murky depths of the water. Sami ran out from behind one of the crates and ran up to Sydney, whose eyes were going back to normal. SAMI: Sydney? Sydney? Sydney collapsed into Sami's arms.ST LUKE'S SAMI: Oh no. Sami wrapped her arms around Sydney, who cried into her mother's shoulder.

I'm glad Sami was with Sydney when she remembered. Maybe Sami will get out of jail soon if the truth comes out.

Sami doesn't deserve to be in jail and either does Sydney. Sydney needs counselling instead... Johnny, well he needs counselling too and to get away from Andre.

Chapter 51 ST LUKE'S Sydney told her mother the whole story, including the phone calls she had been recieving. It took a little while, but Sami finally got Sydney to calm down. SAMI: We have to talk to Uncle Bo. SYDNEY: But, what will happen to me then? SAMI: Sydney, nothing's gonna happen to you, sweetie. Uncle Bo wouldn't arrest you. You weren't even yourself when that happened. He wouldn't arrest you. You'll be okay. Sami and Sydney walked out of the bathroom and walked up to Bo. SAMI: Uncle Bo, we need to talk. BO: Sami... SAMI: Look, before you say anything else, no, it can't wait until after the funeral. BO: Okay. What's up? Sami told him the whole story, including Johnny's involvement. BO: Well then, you get to come home a free woman today, Sami. SAMI: That's great. But, what about Sydney. Bo thought for a minute. BO: Sydney, you said that one of your other personalities is named Stryker, and that Stryker is a boy? Sydney nodded. BO: And Stryker was the one who killed Elvis Jr.? Sydney nodded again. BO: Well, I've never met any boy by the name of Stryker. So, the case is back to being open again. SAMI: So, does this mean...? BO: Yeah. Sami and Sydney hugged Bo. Johnny walked by. BO: As for you, Johnny... JOHNNY: I didn't do it! I didn't do anything! I swear! Whatever they said, they're lying! It's all Uncle André's fault...oops. Johnny had said that just loud enough for most people in the back, especially André, to hear.
