Regardless if you like Bo and Hope they are a big draw for the show and I think they are needed.

They have to retire at some point. It seems like the show should have developed some other couples over the years. All the other shows (Cancelled and current) have younger couples that took over for the "super" couples of the past. Days has yet to learn how to effectively pass the torch.

They got rid of or lost all of the couples who could fit the bill. Lumi's the only one.

They got rid of or lost all of the couples who could fit the bill. Lumi's the only one. To me Lumi doesn't work, though at least they have the dysfunctional side to keep things soapy. Bo and Hope don't have that. Really what they need most of all is new leads to take over for the vets. They were on the right track before with EJ for Stefano, Brady for John, Philip for Victor (and down the line Bo), Rafe for Roman. And yes I am only concerned about the males LOL |

They got rid of or lost all of the couples who could fit the bill. Lumi's the only one. If the writers had done right by alot of the actors that have come and gone, they would have some younger super couples. Philip and Chloe could have been one along with Shawn and Belle. It seemed like they were grooming Shawn and Belle to be the next Bo and Hope, but they wrote them off the show and never would give Philip and Chloe and fighting chance. They so didn't utilize Jay and Nadia like they should have and had they given both of them an awesome storyline, they might still be on the show. |

Since I've been there in the beginning of Bo and Hope's epic love story, I would hate to see Peter Reckell/Bo leave. I also believe that since he is vital to Days, he is NOT going to go anywhere, anytime soon. I'm sure Days and Peter will come to an understanding at the last minute and he will stay. This has happened before with James Scott/EJ and Billy Miller (Billy Abbott, Y & R) and those actors are still with their respective shows.  |

Digest has learned that the actor is currently in contract negotiations with the show and reportedly balked at taking another pay cut. "We do not comment on contract negotiations," notes a spokesperson. "We hope that Peter stays with DAYS OF OUR LIVES." As for Reckell's longtime scene partner, Kristian Alfonso (Hope), the actress is staying in Salem. There's plenty that could leave in order for him to stay!! 3 years ago, Peter and Kristian took lower pay for Jay and Nadia could stay on, so everyone should be team players and do what they can to make sure he could stay!! |

Did they ever confirm if Peter Reckell was staying on DAYS? It would be ludcrious if he has to go and others stay on.  |
