horizon you do not need to record anything on Peacock. It is there whenever you want to watch it. When you return to the episode you've chosen it asks if you want to resume from where you are or start from the beginning. You vcan rewatch as much as you want (I often rewatch scenes on Peacock when working on my weekly column.) I am aware you can rewatch the show. But I can do that now as well. But when you record you can quickly FF to a scene you want to rewatch. But without the record option if you have watched the entire show and want to revisit certain parts you have to start all over again from scratch and wade your way through it to get to the scene you want to watch again. That is my understanding. Which means you will have to suck up close to an hour at times to rewatch segments. With the record option you can just basically fly through the show to get to the scene you want to rewatch. The record option makes things very accommodating. Having the show available to rewatch it or start where you left off is fine but isn't nearly as good as having the record option which I have now. So now I already have the option to re watch or watch a show after it is aired just like with Peacock. But I also have the option to record it which allows me to fast forward after I record it. My point is by taking away the record option it eliminates the chance to fast forward thru the show.

I hope we don't have to guess then when they will drop lol That will be confusing. I'm sure there will be an official announcement at some point soon I've read there is a video coming with the Hayeses walking people through how to use Peacock, so they may include the info about when the episodes will drop there.

You can drag the bar at the bottom to FF to where you want. It is true that if you go past certain points you have to watch about 60 seconds of commercials before you rewatch your scene, which is slightly annoying, but after that, there's your scene.

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. Don't recall a bar at the bottom though. Will keep you updated. If I need assistance, I will bug you. Ha.

I wish they would offer the older shows. I would love to watch the original teen scene again. You can only find fully episodes of the cancelled soaps on Youtube. But full episodes of GH, Y&R, and Days are just not there. There is fan demand though, whoever's in charge of B&B is uploading full episodes starting from episode 1.

Any show on streaming has a scrolling bar at the bottom. You can navigate to wherever in the episode you want to go. What device do you watch on?

The free version of Peacock actually shows the show the next day. For example, Friday's show is available on Peacock now Mine has it available the same day - usually not until around 7:00 pm. BUT - I think that will stop in September when they take it off the air. Then you will have to pay to watch. Thanks for that information

I'm watching Peacock on my TV, and I don't recall seeing a bar on the bottom where I can navigate it with my remote control. But apparently there is access to it for TV viewing correct?

I miss the longer opening! To me it is one of the greatest 30 seconds in TV history. It is the work of sheer genius. I have enough of a fetish about TV theme songs as it is and among my favorites is "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" (Harry Nilsson) and "Chico and the Man" (Jose Feliciano). The opening bars of "Taxi" melts me on the spot. "I Love Lucy" "Gilligan's Island" "Welcome Back, Kotter" "All in the Family" "Good Times" "Room 222" "Cheers" "WKRP in Cincinnati" "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" "That Girl" "Green Acres" "Alice" "I Dream of Jeannie" "Love American Style" "The Addams Family" "The Andy Griffith Show" "Laverne and Shirley" heck I could go on and on and on. Days theme song is enormously touching. And the longer version with the vaguely ominous opening gives it even more heft as it reaches for Heaven on Earth. It IS blindingly brilliant. It has the gorgeous grandeur and sweep of a song like "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing."

I’m sure it would be expensive and time consuming to make all the old episodes available- I’m not sure if they have to reformat them in some way. They do have lots of other old shows available for streaming so I know it can be done. If they could do it a little at a time I think it would actually boost the show’s popularity in some ways on the site because there a lot of long-time fans who feel like you and would enjoy watching their favorite era of the show. I’m sure there are also some newer viewers who might like to see things they never had before.

I have no doubt eventually they will offer some older shows. A lot have to be digitized, and they have to work out music rights for some episodes. (That's been an issue for other classic shows as well. Amazon Prime only has about half of I Love Lucy because of music rights issues.)

A wise decision. This will help mitigate the pain for many although there will still be some left out. But at the moment this streaming thing appears to be a growing trend. So, lowering the price for a year should draw in diehard Days fans who are monetarily strapped. Perhaps some of the complaints got thru to them but whatever the case is I applaud the move. Too often companies are short sighted and don't want to take a hit but here it is important for Peacock to grow their audience so helping people get in on the ground level helps in achieving that goal.
