HORTON TOWN SQUARE
Hope, Bo, Jennifer, Daniel, Melanie, Abigail, Doug, Julie, Victor and Maggie all gathered in Horton Town Square.
Daniel: What ... are we ... doing here?
Maggie: I received a note telling me to meet everyone here.
Hope: So did we.
Julie: Us too.
Jennifer: I got a note also.
Abigail: I didn’t get a note, but since Mom and Melanie were coming, I thought I should be in the scene too.
Bo: I wonder who sent the note.
Jennifer: We might never know.
Hope: Maybe Stefano sent the note.
Melanie: Um ya well no. It wasn’t Stefano. It was me. I sent the note because I have a confession that you all need to hear.
All eyes turned to Melanie.

Maybe Melanie is really the daughter of Hope & John? or maybe Melanie is really EJ's sister or maybe she is really Maggie's daughter? Maybe Melanie is finally going to medical school?

Melanie: I have a confession that you all need to hear. It’s me, I admit it. I forged Mrs. Horton’s handwriting on the letter because I wanted so badly to be a Horton.
Hope: But you’re not a Horton. You’re a Simmons.
Melanie: Oh um ya well, close enough. You know what I mean.
Suddenly and without warning, a woman appeared out of nowhere.
Carly: Stop it. Stop it this instant. Melanie is lying.
Melanie: Mom!
Bo: Carly.
Hope: Oh fudge.
Bo: Why would Melanie lie about this? I mean, unlie. Um gee well, you know what I mean.
Carly: She’s lying to protect me. She didn’t do any of this. I did.
Hope: I knew it!
Bo: No you didn’t.
Hope: Yes I did.
Bo: Did not.
Hope: Okay, I didn’t know this specifically, but I knew something was fishy, and now I know that something was Carly.
Bo: Why, Carly? Why did you do it?
Carly: Several reasons, actually. I wanted my daughter and Daniel to have a more honorable legacy than the one I gave them.
Melanie: Mom, no, don’t say that.
Carly: It’s true. I’ve brought you nothing but heartache and humiliation since the day you were born.
Melanie: Oh um ya well, that’s true.
Carly: In addition to having a hideous upbringing, you got shot because of me. And then Chloe’s jealousy of me is what led to the demise of your marriage and Daniel’s marriage. I wanted to make up for all the pain I’ve caused you both. So I made you believe you were part of the Horton family. You liked that, didn’t you?
Melanie: Oh um ya well, that’s true.
Bo: You said there were several reasons you made fools of us. What were the other reasons?
