Xander had a point, Stephanie was a bit rude And seeing as it will be the three partners in charge she should be a little more gracious, he will be less likely to agree to hiring her with her childish attitude I know I wouldn’t

Xander was certainly condescending and obnoxious.

Xander had a point. He’s not Philip’s receptionist and Stephanie should have not barged in asking for Philip

She was assuming a lot. No one walks into someone else's office demanding to know where that person is. I am glad that Xander didn't give out too much information. For all he knows, Stephanie could be working for the competition so he was smart not to give out too much information.

Chapter 516c
Xander turned and walked back to his desk.
“Wait!” Stephanie called out.
“Yes?”
“I need a job,” Stephanie blurted. “I have credentials. I worked for Titan as Public Relations Manager reporting to Carrie Austin. Philip’s the one who hired me. Well, he referred me for the job.”
“Then why do you need another job?”
“Well, I’m sure you know what happened to Titan. I just became a casualty. Anyway, I need a PR job. I’m a super press agent. Ask anyone. Ask Philip. As a new company, you’re going to need a lot of positive press.”
“We already have a press agent.”
“Already? Who?”
“Not that it’s your concern, but we hired Gabi Hernandez.”
“Gabi?? That’s crazy,” she insisted. “She’s nothing but a party planner. You need a seasoned public relations professional. I’ll talk to Philip. I’m sure he’d rather have me. After all, we were once engaged.”
“So you said. But you’re not his wife, now are you? I happen to be a full partner in this venture, and I’d advise you not to attempt to go over my head. I’m on equal footing with Philip,” Xander asserted. “As for Gabi, she’s a smart and capable businessperson, and I’ll have you know that Philip hired her personally and I’d never question Philip’s judgment. Would you?”
“Lose the snark, Xander.”
“I don’t take well to being lectured either, Missy.” Xander sat at his desk again and focused on his laptop. “Good day, Miss Johnson.” He raised his eyes to give her a quick look. “You’re dismissed.”
Stephanie gasped. “Like hell I’m dismissed! You are the most bombastic person I’ve ever met.”
Xander’s eyes widened. “I resent that remark!”
“I bet you don’t even know what bombastic means,” Stephanie spat.
“I most certainly do,” Xander replied immediately. “It means you haven’t got a prayer of ever working for this company.” Xander squinted at her with disdain. “Better hurry along, Miss Johnson. before you say something that permanently lands you on my bad side, and that’s not a place you want to be.”
“And you don’t want to get on my bad side either.” Stephanie mumbled “Jerk” under her breath as she huffed off.

Stephanie asked for all of that I thought xander handled that well She obviously doesn’t know his dark side but sadly I doubt that would have stopped her big mouth she doesn’t seem too bright

Wow...Stephanie honey, you just did a big no-no. And, that's not how you get a job or prove yourself as a capable professional. All she did was show she's a name dropper, spoiled, and entitled.
If she came into my office like that, I would also never consider her for future positions.

Stephanie was childish. Xander sounded a lot like EJ in his response.

Chapter 517a
“You look handsome,” Maggie told Nathan as he reached the bottom of the staircase. He was wearing a leather jacket over a white shirt and black twills. His hair was slightly damp from the shower. “Where are you off to?
“I have a date.” Nathan kissed Maggie’s cheek and started for the door.
“A date,” Maggie said with surprise. “But Melanie is having dinner with Abigail. Oh.” The light dawned. “Your date isn’t with Melanie. It’s with someone else.”
“Right.”
“And that someone is—?”
Nathan rolled his eyes to the right as he tried to decide whether or not to be truthful. “Stephanie.”
“Stephanie, huh? I thought so. Do both of these women know you’re seeing the other?”
“Well, Melanie knows we’re not exclusive. She’s still involved with Brady.”
“I see. And Stephanie? Does she know you’re also romancing Melanie?”
“Romancing? Wow. That’s an old fashioned word,” Nathan stated, trying to change the subject.
“I’m trying to be polite,” Maggie explained..
“Actually, no. Stephanie doesn’t know I’m seeing other people.”
“Why not?”
Nathan remembered Stephanie’s words about this very subject on New Year’s Eve.
“Suppose I say okay, let’s give it another try. I’ve gotta tell you that I won’t compete with anyone for your affection this time. If Melanie comes sniffing around and I think you’re interested in her? I’m outta here, no explanations, no goodbyes.”
Nathan smiled a sexy smile. “Works for me.”
Stephanie’s skeptical expression slowly melted into a smile. “Okay then. Let’s do it right this time.”
He shrugged. “I don’t want to hurt her feelings.”
“Or maybe you don’t want to ruin your fun,” Maggie speculated.
“No offense Grandma, but I’m a grown man and my love life is no one’s business but mine.”
Maggie raised her brows. “It most certainly is my business when my granddaughter is involved. And I’ve known Stephanie since she was a baby. I love both those girls … excuse me … those women. And you, my beloved grandson, are playing them both. Someone is going to get hurt.”
“We’re all adults.”
“That doesn’t lessen the hurt. Not at all.”
“I’m not playing them, Grandma. I care about both of them.”
“Is that supposed to make either of them feel better?” Maggie asked. “What happened to you Nathan? You were always a kind, thoughtful, sensitive boy. Where did that boy go?”
“I grew up. I became a man,” he said bitterly. “Because I lost the women I cared about to men who didn’t really care about them. To men who actually are players.”
“So what are you saying? That you became a player to compete with players.” When Nathan shrugged, Maggie warned, “Don’t be so cavalier young man. You owe both Stephanie and Melanie an apology.”
“For what? Melanie’s involved with Brady and Stephanie may be having a thing with her boss. It’s just the way things are with my generation.”
“That doesn’t make your actions right. Not at all.” Maggie raised her voice. “Now be a man. Be a human being. Do the right thing!”

While I agree with everything Maggie said and I’m glad she told him off, it doesn’t sound like any of it will register with him at all He outright lied to Stephanie Stephanie isn’t with Alex anyways but at this rate he’s looking to be a better option

Chapter 517b
Stephanie sat on a bench in the Square, updating her résumé on her tablet when Nathan joined her. “Hey beautiful.”
“Nathan!”
He took a seat next to her and put an arm across the bench. “You okay?”
“Not so much,” she admitted. “I’ve had a seriously bad day. Can we not go to a movie tonight? I’m not really in the mood.”
“Oh. Well, sure. We can do this some other time.”
“No.” She put her hand on his. “I’m not canceling. I’m just too antsy to sit through a movie tonight. Maybe we can go to the Bistro and have a bite to eat? I haven’t had anything but coffee all day.”
“Sure. Let’s go.”
~~~
At a table in the Bistro, each of them had a glass of white wine in front of them. Stephanie slid her tablet toward Nathan. “What do you think of this? My résumé? “
He picked up the tablet from her to get a closer look. “This looks super.”
“I put it together fast. I didn’t expect to be job hunting so soon. Maybe I should have been more prepared all things considered.”
“You’ll do great,” Nathan told her with a warm smile.
~~~
At another table in the Bistro, Abigail and Melanie were having dinner.
“How’s things going with Ben?” Melanie asked.
“Okay. I mean he’s not my dream guy but he’s okay company. How about you? What’s going on with Brady?”
“Nothing,” she sighed. “I have no idea how much longer he’ll be in rehab. Seems like forever.” She looked around furtively and leaned forward. “Speaking of okay company, Nathan keeps me from getting lonely.”
“You and Nathan, huh? Again?”
“Ya. Just between us, I may be falling for him. Again.”
“Is that good or bad?” Before Melanie could answer the question, Abigail’s eyes fell on a table toward the front of the restaurant. “Oh gosh. Don’t look now but lover boy is having dinner with another woman.”
