Finally caught up. WOW! Too much has happened. Am glad that Victor is home and that Chloe is coming to Salem. LOVE Nicole. She doesn’t hold any punches but tells it like she sees it.
Can’t wait to see Phillip’s reaction when Chloe and Parker show up. Sure hope he doesn’t have a knee jerk reaction and gives her a hard time about being there They need each other now.

Chapter 24
On Sunday, Philip was in the study adjacent to the living room. He was reviewing the reports the executive team had prepared in advance of the annual meeting.
He could hear voices coming from the living room. He recognized one of the voices as Belle’s. He left the study.
“Hey Philip,” Shawn rose from the sofa and greeted Philip with a handshake. “We’re here to see Granddad.” He turned to look over his shoulder at Belle who was seated on the couch, scrolling through messages on her phone. “Well, I am anyway.”
“Go on up,” Philip told Shawn. “He’s in the East wing. Do you know the way?”
“I’ll find it.” He patted Philip’s shoulder before heading for the stairs.
Belle looked up from her phone and smiled at Philip. “You look tired.”
Philip gave her a look and headed for the bar. “Thanks for the compliment.” He held up a decanter of water. “Want some?”
“Sure, thanks.” She got up from the sofa and approached Philip. “I hear congratulations are in order.”
He stopped pouring, wondering how many people knew about the baby. “Congratulations for what?”
“You’re the new CEO of Titan.”
He gave her a forced smile and said, “I guess I can cancel the press release.” He handed her the glass of water. “I didn’t really want the job under these circumstances.”
“I can imagine,” she said. “So where’s Mrs. Kiriakis?”
His brows drew together. “Maggie?” Belle cocked her head and scowled at him. “Oh, you mean Chloe. She’s in Chicago.”
“When is she coming?” Belle asked.
Philip was tired of explaining the same thing over and over so he sidestepped the question. “Have you heard from Brady lately? I thought he’d be here by now.”
“Dad says he’s in California visiting Tate. I haven’t spoken to him since he left though. Why?”
“Titan can use his help.”
“So, give him a call,” Belle suggested.
Nicole entered the room. “Wow, I just had a flashback.” She pressed her fingers to her temples and acted like she was seeing a vision. “The two of you having a clandestine meeting. What secrets are you two sharing?”
“Cut it out, Nicole,” Philip barked. He was in no mood for her insinuations right now.
“I’m kidding! Geez, lighten up, grumpy pants.” He glared at her. “Sorry, I guess that was a little insensitive.”
“More than a little,” he blurted. Maybe he was hypersensitive these days, but there wasn’t anything that would make him “lighten up.” And if he was grumpy, he had good reasons to be. He knew very well that not everyone looked upon the situation as a tragedy. It was clear that Nicole didn’t much care if Victor lived or died, but a little empathy thrown in his direction would be nice. The fact that Nicole was Chloe’s best friend often baffled Philip. The two women were so different from one another. Sure, there were times when he really liked Nicole. There were also times like today when he found her to be irritating. After a minute, he turned back to Belle. “I’m going to make that call. Excuse me.”
As he headed back toward the study, Belle called after him, “Take care of yourself, Philip.”
Nicole poured herself a drink and took a sip. “Be glad you don’t live here,” she told Belle. “The tension is as thick as pea soup.”
“Well, you can kind of understand it,” Belle reasoned. “There’s a man upstairs who’s dying.”
Turning around, Nicole got an idea. “On second thought, maybe you and Shawn should move in. Could be fun, well, at least for me. It’s soooo boring here.”

I"m glad Shawn wasn't worried about leaving Belle alone with Philip. We don't need that kind of drama.
I don't know why Nicole would find it boring in the mansion. She's not the kind of person who gets bored. She should go find something to investigate.

Bored Nicole equals trouble She thinks making jokes like that are funny but that’s how rumors are started I find her obnoxious personally

Poor Maggie. I don't think Philip made the wrong decision at all. If Victor had any chance of recovery, it's going to be at the house where there are constantly people who love him, people to urge him to get better, and people who will encourage him to fight.
Oh Nicole. If you are that miserable, then go back home. I'm glad that there doesn't seem to be added drama between Belle, Shawn and Phillip.

Interested to see the reaction to Chloe and Parker’s return to Salem! I’m guessing Philip wants Brady’s help with Titan.

Nicole is annoying and it does not help that shes not one of my favs on the show currently ( you can guess why ) Victor could die, and shes cracking jokes about affairs. I am sooooo ready for chloe to visit, maybe little parker will help lighten up the mood in the mansion. Glad philip will ask for help, atleast with brady on he would have some work life balance

I'm looking forward to all things Parker next week.
I'm also looking forward to Philip and Brady having an interaction that I expect will be more mature than how they deal with each other on the show.

Chapter 25
Nicole poured herself a drink and took a sip. “Be glad you don’t live here,” she told Belle. “The tension is as thick as pea soup.”
“Well, you can kind of understand it,” Belle reasoned. “There’s a man upstairs who’s dying.”
Turning around, Nicole got an idea. “On second thought, maybe you and Shawn should move in. Could be fun, well, at least for me. It’s soooo boring here.”
“Don’t you work?” Belle asked.
“I do. I’m running Basic Black.”
“So, that means you probably know where Brady is if he works for you.”
“He’s on vacation, why?”
Belle glanced in the direction Philip had gone in. “I would think he’d be here, since his grandfather is so sick. He’s much closer with Victor than Shawn is. Yet Shawn is here and Brady’s not.”
Nicole held her index finger to her chin. “Hmmm. Brady’s not here. Chloe’s not here. Maybe they’re together.”
“Nicole!”
“I’m kidding, okay,” Nicole said. “Sheesh. Everyone’s lost their sense of humor.”
~~~
Back inside the study, Philip picked his phone up off the desk. He turned it over and over with one hand, trying to figure out what he was going to say to Brady. Even though they were on decent terms lately, they weren’t friends. You’re CEO of Titan, for God’s sake. Act like it. Philip swallowed his pride and dialed Brady’s number. He listened as it rang. Once. Twice. Three times. And then it rolled to voicemail.
“Brady, it’s Philip. I presume you’ve heard what’s going on with Dad and you’re either on your way or making plans to come back to Salem.” He paused to collect his thoughts. “The real reason I’m calling is, well, I need you. I know you’re working for the Dimeras with Basic Black, but I was really hoping you could put that on pause and come work for Titan, at least temporarily. See, I’ve been named CEO while Dad is out of commission, and I could use all the help I can get.” He realized that made it sound like any old body will do, so he added, “You know Titan really well, and with the shareholders annual meeting coming up, your experience would be invaluable.” After another pause, he said, “Okay, so call me when you get this.”
He set his phone down and took a seat to resume reading his reports. The voices coming from the living room distracted him. He looked up from the paperwork and stared ahead as he listened.
“Nicole!” Belle’s tone of voice sounded like she was reprimanding a child.
“I’m kidding, okay? Sheesh!” Nicole said. “Everyone’s lost their sense of humor.”
“Well, I do agree with you about one thing,” Belle said. “Chloe should be here.”
“Oh my god yes,” Nicole replied eagerly. “It’s weird, right? Philip is full of excuses about why she should stay in Chicago.”
“Maybe it’s Chloe’s idea not to come to Salem,” Belle suggested.
Nicole shrugged. “I’d be anywhere besides here if I could be. But I know Chloe and I’m sure she wants to be with Philip. Look at me. I don’t like it here, but I belong wherever Daniel is. I want to support him.”
“Where’s Nicole and what have you done with her?” Belle quipped.
“Very funny. You know what it’s like. You’ll do anything for the man you love.”
“Yeah, but usually, you’d do anything to trap the man you love,” Belle remembered.
“Well, I’ve changed.”
“Hmmm.” Belle’s tone was one of skepticism. “If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that, I could quit being a trial attorney.”
“Maybe I should give Chloe a call,” Nicole mused.
Belle looked toward the stairs. “I wonder what’s taking Shawn so long,” Belle said. “I’ll be back.”
Their conversation ended there. Philip picked up a pencil and began tapping it against his water glass. “Maybe they’re right. Chloe and Parker should be with me.” He set down the pencil and refocused on his work muttering, “People should mind their own business.”
