-Chloe wasn’t concerned about spending the night alone in the mansion, but maybe she should be.

Wonder what’s up with Parker, and why Chloe may need to be concerned about being at the mansion alone. Excited to hear what Nicole confesses to Chloe.

Chapter 226c
Chloe took the golf cart out of the garage and drove herself and Nicole along a path around the estate. They were heading to the far side of the Kiriakis grounds, a couple miles from the main house, beyond the stables and the mausoleum, out toward a small, picturesque lake at the edge of the property. “Don’t you think it’s weird being at the mansion when there’s no servants,” Nicole asked. “I love it!” Chloe blurted. “You do?” “The staff is wonderful and all, but I’m never completely comfortable having people waiting on me and doing things for me. I’d rather do it myself,” she insisted. “I prefer making my own bed. I miss vacuuming and polishing the furniture.” “You’re joking!” Nicole exclaimed. “I’m completely serious. I find cleaning therapeutic. It’s my ‘thinking’ time.” “Come do Daniel’s place. I hate dust bunnies and I’d much rather someone else clean for me. Besides, the mansion is super spooky when it’s empty,” Nicole observed. “Come to think of it, that mansion feels like a haunted house even when it’s full of people.” “I used to think that, but I don’t anymore.” “Really!” “Yes.” Chloe glanced at Nicole in the passenger seat next to her. “It doesn’t feel like a scary old haunted house anymore. Philip and I have shared some special times here since we moved back. I’m guessing you and Daniel made some good memories here too.” “We did,” Nicole admitted. “We got engaged in this house. So, you’re okay with living in the mansion now?” “It’s our home now. Philip inherited it and I guess we don’t have to live here, but I don’t have a really good reason not to. Our family is growing and there’s plenty of room.” “You’ll have the whole West wing to yourself once me and Daniel are gone for good.” That’ll be nice, Chloe thought, but she didn’t say it out loud. Chloe turned off the ignition on the cart and both women gazed at the water. “Can you picture it?” Nicole asked. “Daniel galloping in on a horse from the stables. Me waiting breathlessly in the gazebo.” She tapped Chloe’s arm. “Along with the minister and wedding party, of course.” “That sounds perfect,” Chloe said dreamily. “It does, doesn’t it?” Nicole mused. “Except, I can’t imagine Daniel agreeing to the knight on a steed bit,” Chloe added. “Yeah, I know,” Nicole agreed. “But a girl can dream.” Nicole got out of the cart and walked toward the lake. Chloe followed Nicole and smiled at the women’s reflection in the water. “Did I tell you Gabi Hernandez hit me up to be my wedding planner?” Nicole remembered. “She’s a good businesswoman,” Chloe noted. “I was impressed with her work at the party. If I were you, I’d consider it.” “Oh I am, believe me,” Nicole stated. “I want everything to be perfect.” “The wedding planner can’t do that,” Chloe reasoned. “Huh?” “You’re marrying the man you love, Nicole. That’s what makes it perfect.” “Aw. You’re right.” Tears began to roll down Nicole’s cheek. “I’ve never been this happy for this long before. I know you know how that feels.” “I do. I absolutely know how it feels to be with the man you were always meant to be with. I’m honestly thrilled for you and Daniel.” “Yeah, but I’m scared, Chloe.” Chloe turned to look at her friend. “Nicole. Why?” “I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, because it always does,” Nicole confessed. “I feel like something is going to happen to steal my joy.” “Me too.” Nicole looked at Chloe with surprise. “You do too?” Chloe nodded. “It’s crazy though, right? I guess being happy is scary because even though you have so much that’s good in your life, it means that you also have so much to lose.” “Exactly! Please tell me everything’s going to work out,” Nicole pleaded. “That this wedding is really going to happen and we’re going to get married and have our baby and spend our lives together and live happily ever after.” Chloe put her arms around Nicole. “It’s really going to happen,” she reassured her friend.

I love this conversation between Nicole and Chloe. Though I was going to say he same thing. I don't see Daniel riding in on a horse.

I think many people feel threatened by happiness and worry it will come to an abrupt halt It was good that Nicole heard it from Chloe that she feels that way too It makes it more normal and kinda helps you relax

Chapter 227 Philip and Parker were enjoying the baseball game on Sunday. It was a hot August day, the summer sun was relentless and the Kiriakis guys wore their Cubs caps to both shield the sun and support their team. Philip was glad Chloe got them these seats along the first base line. This was much better than sitting in a corporate box, far from the action. May as well watch the game on TV if you’re going to be in a box. Titan already had a box and used those tickets for visiting clients and as giveaways to employees as a way to boost morale. Philip’s phone buzzed and he answered it without thinking. It was an exec from Titan on the other end of the line. He put hand to his other ear so he could hear. He glanced at Parker who had his arms folded across his chest and a scowl on his face. He ended the call as quickly as possible. “Sorry, buddy.” “This was ‘apposed to be a father-son day,” Parker complained. “You’re a hundred percent right. Look. I’m turning off my phone.” He held it up to show the Settings options to Parker. “I’m putting myself on do-not-disturb.” Parker took the phone from Philip and studied the screen. “What does that mean?” “Do not disturb means that you, big guy, have my undivided attention.” He touched the tip of Parker’s nose and added, “No one can interrupt us again. I’m off work.” “Good! Let’s watch the game.” Philip smiled at Parker’s decisiveness. We have the next Titan CEO in the making, he thought to himself. *** Philip ordered a pizza for dinner when they got back to the condo. They were sitting on the sofa watching TV and eating their pizza when Philip’s phone buzzed. “I thought it was on do not disturb,” Parker growled. “I took it off Do Not Disturb when I ordered the pizza,” Philip explained. “I’ll just be a minute.” Philip got up off the sofa and took the call. Parker was still on the sofa while Philip drew a bath for the boy. His phone began ringing again as he left the bathroom. “Kiriakis,” he said with the phone to his ear as he returned to the living room. “Again?” Parker whined. Philip held up a finger to let Parker know he needed a minute. “That’s fine, Al. Just send me a meeting invitation and we’ll talk about it in the office tomorrow. Afternoon would be better. Okay, good.” He clicked end call. “I wish they’d stop calling,” Parker said. “Me too, but it’s the nature of the business.” Philip looked over at Parker. “Don’t they know we’re having a father-son day,” he said half-joking. “Tell them Daddy.” He took a seat on the sofa next to Parker. “The thing is I’m head of the company, so it means I’m never really off.” “I don’t ever want a job like that,” Parker said emphatically. “That’s not a decision you need to make for a while,” he said while ruffling Parker’s hair. “But listen. I’m not going to answer any more work calls today, okay?” “That’s what you said before!” On a sigh, he said, “You’re right and I’m sorry. Hey, your bath should be ready, big guy, so why don’t you get in. Let me know if you need help.” “I know how to take a bath by myself,” Parker whined as he disappeared down the hall. Philip looked at his phone’s home screen and whispered, “There is one more call I need to make tonight.”

Hopefully Parker and Philip have had a good day despite the near-constant phone calls.

I don't blame Parker for being upset. I'm glad Philip put the phone on do-not-disturb during the game at least.

It's not surprising that Parker was annoyed by Philip's multiple work calls.
I liked Chloe and Nicole touring the grounds.

Ok. I've got a lot of catching up to do so here it goes. LOL
I LOVED Daniel asking JJ to be the baby's godfather! I'm so glad they talked.
I'm glad the engagement party went so well.
I really liked the way Jennifer tried to put into perspective the problem with dating her uncle. Unfortunately, I don't think that Abby will listen to anyone.
I'm not gonna lie. When I saw that Daniel was headed to a multi-car accident call, I was afraid that it was Parker and Philip. I'm so glad to see that that's not the case. I can feel Parker's frustration, but at the same time, he does need to understand that things do come up unexpectedly and have to be dealt with. And right now, Philip can't leave his phone completely off in case Chloe and Victoria need him.
