I like Gabi setting boundaries and keeping it real for JJ.

I wonder is she friends with Abby in this story and does she have a daughter with will? It would be interesting if she did and made the connection with Jj being her brother No children. No past with Will. This Gabi is more or less a clean slate except her personality is similar to on air, minus the thirst for revenge. She is not friends with Abigail, but could be in the future. Thanks for pondering!

I thought JJ could do better than Gabi and this scene confirmed it for me. She's not as great as she thinks she is, and her gameplaying is unattractive.

Chapter 226a Philip and Parker left for Chicago at about 10 a.m. Sunday morning and, true to his word, Philip had taken care of everything. He supervised Parker getting dressed and gave him breakfast. He came back to the bedroom just to kiss his sleepy wife goodbye and to remind her to take the day off.
This was the first time Chloe was able to sleep late in years and it felt really decadent. She stretched herself out in the middle of the bed, enjoying having the time and space to herself. Victoria was active this morning, and even though the baby kept Chloe from sleeping soundly, she loved the physical reminder that a life was growing inside her. She was just starting to drift off again when her phone rang. She reached for it on her nightstand, thinking it was probably Philip, but it wasn’t. “Hey girlfriend,” Nicole said through the phone. “Whatcha doing?” “Absolutely nothing,” Chloe answered, “and I’m loving every minute of it. Philip and Parker left for Chicago an hour ago, and I’ve got the whole house to myself all day.” “Well, you deserve to rest up after that star-studded bash you threw for me and Daniel yesterday. I almost hate to tell you that I’m about to disturb your peace.” Chloe pushed herself up against the headboard. “What’s up?” “Remember we were talking about wedding venues?” Nicole asked. “How would you like to tour the grounds with me?” “What grounds?” “The Kiriakis estate,” Nicole answered, as if Chloe should already know, especially since she was the one who suggested it a couple weeks earlier. Chloe smiled. “Really! So you’re thinking about getting married here after all?” “Thinking. Just thinking.” “Is Daniel coming too?” Sounding disappointed, Nicole said, “No. It’ll just be you and me.” Chloe glanced at the time display on her phone. “What happened to your romantic Sunday with your honey?” Chloe asked. “My honey belongs to the world,” Nicole sighed. “Hospital is short staffed so he’s off to another double shift. Maybe triple.” “Ew. I’d hate to be a patient on his third shift,” Chloe blurted. “He’ll be dead on his feet.” “I know,” Nicole agreed. “I should feel bad for him, but I feel bad for me. I’m a terrible person.” “No you’re not,” Chloe reassured her. “I get that way too when my husband works to all hours and I hardly get to see him or talk to him.” “Still that bad?” “No, not really,” Chloe conceded. “Or maybe I’m getting used to it. Philip works really hard to make sure his family doesn’t feel neglected. He’s doing his very best and I love him for it.” “We got the last of the good ones, didn’t we?” Nicole said. “I believe we did,” Chloe answered with a smile in her voice. “So, you up for a stroll?” “Absolutely,” Chloe exclaimed. “Just give me a chance to shower and dress, then come on over.”
“Be there in an hour.”

Chapter 226b
Jennifer invited Abigail over to the house for lunch on Sunday. They were seated at the kitchen table enjoying tuna melt sandwiches when Abigail said, “Thanks for suggesting this. With the new semester starting, it's going to be harder to find time to get together.”
“I’m happy you could come. We haven’t had a mother-daughter get-together in … can’t remember when. Still enjoying working at the Academy?”
Abby patted her mouth with a napkin and shrugged. “Uh huh. Summer school was good. Not nearly as busy as it’s going to get when school starts tomorrow.”
“And what about the rest of your life, honey?” Jennifer took a sip of tea while she waited for Abigail to answer.
Abby’s brow knit. “Um. What do you mean?”
“Your personal life. You know. Your love life.” By now it was clear she was on a fishing expedition. “I hear you’re seeing someone,” Jennifer said. Abigail’s eyes darted around the room as if she were trying to formulate an answer. “Someone named Justin, right?”
Abigail’s jaw dropped. “You know?”
Jennifer tossed her napkin on the table in disgust and folded her arms. “No thanks to you,” she answered angrily. “It would have been nice if my daughter told me about it herself, but no. I had to hear it from other people.”
“Who?”
“Well, you did go to a party with him yesterday.” Jennifer couldn’t bring herself to call it an engagement party, especially because there was a time when Jennifer thought she and Daniel were heading in that direction. Even after she and Daniel broke up, she was sure it was just a matter of time before they’d reconcile. But he quickly moved on to Nicole. And even then, Jennifer figured it was just a rebound, but he never bounced back to her the way she expected. He continued seeing Nicole and somewhere along the way they grew serious and she had to adjust to the fact she and Daniel were never going to get back together.
“Are you telling me that someone who was at Daniel and Nicole’s engagement party called you to tell you about me and Justin? The party was only yesterday.”
“Called. Texted. You seem to forget that some of the people at the party were named Hope. Julie. Maggie. Kayla. JJ.”
“Thanks a lot, JJ,” Abigail muttered under her breath.
“They all filled me in,” Jen continued, “and I have to tell you it was pretty embarrassing not to know that my own daughter, who I’m supposed to be really close with, is in a relationship. With Justin Kiriakis of all people! Next time I see him, he’s getting a piece of my mind.”
Abigail gasped. “Don’t you dare say a word to him!”
“Do not use that tone of voice with me, young lady!”
“I’m not a young lady. I’m a grown woman and I can see whoever I want.”
“Except Justin. He was my brother-in-law. Your father’s sister’s husband.”
“So what? He’s not married to Aunt Adrienne anymore. She’s dating Uncle Lucas.”
“Don’t go getting any ideas about Lucas!”
Abby rolled her eyes. “I’m tired of people thinking they get to have an opinion about my love life.”
“I agree with you. People don’t get a say, but I’m your mother and that means I do!”
“Mom!”
“I know you tend to be attracted to older men. Austin. EJ,” Jen recalled. “But Justin’s twice your age, Abby. Older than your father would have been.”
“That’s what JJ said.”
“Suppose JJ was seeing his Aunt Kayla.”
“Ew.”
“See what I mean. Your situation is equally as ‘ew’.”
“It’s not! It’s not icky at all. It’s sweet and romantic and—”
Jennifer leaned back in her chair. “Are you in love with him?"
I don’t know.” She shrugged a little. “Maybe. How do you know when you’re in love?”
“First of all, when you’re in love, you don’t need to ask that question.” She looked into her daughter’s eyes and saw sadness, so she reached for Abby’s hand. “When you’re in love, you feel happy. Excited. You want to be with him all the time. And when you’re together, you never want it to end. Being in love? Well, there’s no better feeling in the world.”
“Then I am in love with him. You described my feelings perfectly.”
“Then why do you look sad?”
“First of all, because no one supports us. That’s the reason I hesitated about telling anybody. I don’t want people raining on my parade. I’ve been in relationships that didn’t work out. And one in particular that turned into a disaster. Justin makes me happy. What’s wrong with that?”
“Maybe nothing. But as your mother, I’m going to worry about you.”
“You’d worry even if I was dating someone who’s age-appropriate. Remember when Daddy punched Chad?”
They both laughed a little. “You’re father was even more over-protective than me.”
“See, I worry about you too, Mom, being all alone. I know you miss Daniel. He’s really the only man you really cared about since Dad’s been gone.”
Nodding slowly, she spoke with a cry in her voice. “I miss the way he made me feel. But I’m glad he’s happy.” When Abigail gave her a skeptical look, she said, “I am. Really. Was it a nice party?”
Abigail smiled a little. “It really was. JJ sang and played his guitar.”
“Wish I could have seen that,” she sighed.
Abby held up her phone. “I took videos.”
Jennifer’s lips parted. “Let me see.”

Justin had a standing golf game with three lawyers he was friendly with every other Sunday at the Salem Heights Golf and Country Club. He was leaning on his putter, waiting for his turn when his phone buzzed. He took it out of his pocket and saw an incoming text from Sonny.
Dad! You’re dating Abigail?? My cousin Abigail??
Here it comes, Justin thought to himself—the lecture he’d been expecting from his youngest son. Knowing how he’d coach a witness to say as little as possible on the stand, he simply responded, “Yes.”
Within a moment, Sonny texted back. Way to go, Dad! Give her a kiss for me.
Justin smiled and slipped the phone back into his pocket.

Well I'm glad Sonny was supportive.
Abigail was right. Jen ifer doesn't get to tell her what to do any more than. Anyone else does. Though this relationship is ridiculous.

Though I don’t particularly agree with this relationship at all, Abby’s right, it’s not Jennifer’s place to tell her who she can and can’t date.
Sonny was, surprisingly, supportive. Which is better than Jennifer’s reaction.

I feel like Jenn naturally as a mother reacted as to be expected but she backed off in the end and that’s the important part I Do agree with her about being the last to find out and the way she did Her and Abby were always close, Abby might have got a better reaction if she confided in her in the first place I think she would have been naturally shocked and concerned but it wouldn’t have been as bad of a reaction as she got I’d hate to see Jennifer pining over Daniel of all people He’s better suited to Nicole cuz their both kind of awful

I'm so glad Nicole and Chloe will have a "girl's day" out, but hope Chloe doesn't get too tired. She needs rest.
And, I liked the JJ/Kayla-"ew" example that Jennifer used. But ultimately it is Abigail's decision.
