Um my husband and I totally marked our one week It’s not totally abnormal I think Chloe’s point was that they’re only a week married and are separated I hope Mary’s techniques work for her Therapy is suppose to be a safe place and her feelings IMO are completely understandable At least she’s trying to sort them out I hope Chloe gives Philip a heads up and doesn’t just show up unannounced She wouldn’t know what kind of situation she’s bringing parker into

“As long as it’s not Marlena Evans,”
LOL im not a fan so this was amusing
Chloe is pregnant and hormonal , and beyond worried so yes she should feel all of that and miss philip even if its 2 days. They were on their honeymoon afterall. They definitely should plan a visit to salem, during which maybe check out schools? Etc it would be good to have a plan ready if they had to move. Victor might get better and they might not need to right? But i doubt philip would just go back to chicago, hed want to savor the time left with victor and i think inevitably they will move to salem.

Chloe keeps saying that it's not about her, but yet her problems are stemming from things that ARE about her. Everything that she listed out that she wanted was things that Philip did for her. Only one thing she said was what she could do for Philip.
I really hope for the sake of the baby that she keeps the stress factor low. But I think she needs to be prepared for a compromise on their living arrangements. We know of at least a month that Philip will be in Salem due to Victor's directive. If Victor doesn't pull through (I really hope he does), then some serious discussions about all of this will need to be had between them. It's going to be a very slippery slope.

Chapter 18
On Friday morning, Philip put on one of the suits Chloe sent and headed for the office. Per Philip’s request, Justin set up a meeting in the 12th floor conference room for Philip to confer with his executive team. The upcoming annual shareholders meeting was weighing on him. He knew what it took to prepare for the shareholders meeting, but in the past, he was only responsible for the Titan Media portion of the proceedings. This year, he would be responsible for all of it.
Luckily, the team was already on top of it. They were well underway in preparing the 10k statement, annual report and meeting agenda. Philip had been spending as much time during the past two days reviewing the company’s financials and getting up to speed on their operating results and projections.
When the conference ended at around 4 p.m., he felt way more comfortable about meeting their deadlines. He left the meeting with a stack of reports to read at home. But before heading home, he needed to make a stop.
Philip entered Victor’s hospital room. This time, he wasn’t shocked by Victor’s appearance. This time he was prepared. Still, he’d hoped to find Victor alert, but he wasn’t.
Philip took a seat in the chair next to Victor’s bed. “Dad, it’s Philip. Geez, this doesn’t get any easier. So, I wanted to tell you in case you hadn’t heard that you’re coming home tomorrow. We’re getting the house set up for you, and Daniel’s lined up the best doctors he can find to take care of you 24/7. But Dad, we need you to do your part too. The clock is ticking, so you need to help get yourself out of this, come back to us.” He slipped his hand into Victor’s as if they were shaking hands. “Come back to us, Dad. Okay? You’ve done it before. I need you to do it one more time.”
~~~
As soon as Philip got into his rental car, he set his phone in the holder in the console, and hit the speed dial for Chloe. He pulled out of the hospital parking lot and waited for her to answer. “Hi sweetheart.”
“Who’s this?”
Philip scowled. “Philip. Your husband.”
“Ah, I didn’t recognize your voice. It’s been so long since we spoke.” When there was no reaction, Chloe added, “That was supposed to be a joke.”
“Sorry, I guess I’ve lost my sense of humor,” he said flatly. “But you’re right. It’s been too long.”
“Tell me. How’s everything? How’s Victor?”
“I just came from seeing him. There’s no change, except … I don’t think I told you this. He has 30 days to live.”
Chloe's version of a joke wasn't a joke at all. I wish Mary had helped her work on dealing with the situation and communicating honestly with Philip a little more.
Another emotional scene at Victor's bedside.
That was an emotional scene in Victor’s hospital room. I get Chloe wanting to lighten the mood, but I’m not sure her “joke” went over the way she intended.
I agree she was trying to lighten the mood Maybe if he didn’t just leave victors room he might have been in the humor for it but how was she to know I hope victor pulls through This is heartbreaking
I'm glad that Chloe is planning to bring Parker to visit Philip. I think Philip needs to see them.
Hopefully Victor will show some signs soon that he could recover.
I just think bad timing. I've tried to do those types of jokes with my husband, but sometimes they backfire when his brain is on another plain. Then again, I'm amused. I think it's sweet that she's considering going to Salem to be supportive. Philip definitely needs her right now.
Chapter 19
“Tell me,” Chloe said. “How’s everything? How’s Victor?”
“I just came from seeing him. There’s no change, except … I don’t think I told you this. He has 30 days to live.”
“Thirty days? What do you mean?”
“His health directive,” Philip explained. “It states that he gets taken off life support after 30 days if there’s no change in his condition. Well, 27 days now.”
“Then the doctors at Salem University Hospital need to work harder,” Chloe said decisively.
“Actually, dad is coming home. Tomorrow.”
“Okay, now I’m confused.”
“He’s coming home and he’ll be getting round-the-clock care from a team of doctors,” Philip told her, as he glanced in his side view mirror before changing lanes. “There’s no point for him to be in a long-term care facility when he can get the same care at home.”
“Oh wow.”
“Yeah, so that means … Chloe, that means I’m going to be in Salem for at least that long. And sweetheart, I won’t be coming home this weekend either. I know I said I would, but I want to be here when Dad gets home. Do my part to make sure everything is set up properly for him.”
“Philip, I wasn’t expecting you to come home this weekend,” she said earnestly. “You just got there two days ago.”
He exhaled audibly. “Have I told you lately you’re the best?”
“I’m just trying to be as supportive as you need me to be.”
“Thank you. Thank you for making this easier on me.”
“You don’t need to thank me.”
“So, how are you, sweetheart? How do you feel?” His brow knit. “Where are you anyway?”
“I’m still in the office. I saw Mary this afternoon.”
“How’d that go?”
“Good. I asked her advice about telling Parker about the baby. She sent me a link to an article from a child psychology journal. I’ll forward it to you.”
“Can’t wait to tell him. So, how did Mary react when you told her about the baby?”
“Oh you know Mary. She hardly ever shows emotion. She just wanted to know how we feel about it.”
“That’s Mary.” He arrived at the gate to the mansion and punched his code into the keypad. The gate opened and he drove through. “What the hell?” He stepped on the brake pedal as hard as he could and the car came to a screeching halt.
“Philip? Oh my god. Are you okay? What happened?”
“I’m driving up the hill to the house, and there’s a traffic jam inside the gate.”
“A traffic jam inside the gate? How’s that possible?”
He craned his neck to see around the sea of vehicles. “I can’t get through.” He steered the car onto the grass and parked it. “The groundskeepers are gonna hate me,” he mumbled. He opened the door, grabbed his phone, got out of the car and hit the lock button on his key fob.
“You okay?” Chloe asked.
Holding the phone to his ear, he said, “Fine. I’m walking up the hill to the house.”
“That’s like a half a mile.”
“I don’t really have a choice.” He perused the vehicles as he passed them. “Wow, I didn’t realize it would take this much equipment to set Dad up here at home. All these trucks and vans are medical supply vehicles. Oxygen tanks. Heart monitors. There’s a hospital bed.”
“You sound out of breath.”
“Yeah, a little. Why don’t we talk later?”
“Sure. Take care of yourself, okay?”
“Give Parker a kiss for me.” He clicked “end call” and continued up the hill while looking at all the vehicles lining the driveway.
He finally reached the front door and entered, patting his forehead with a handkerchief. He quickly got out of the way of the workers carrying equipment through the house. Victor was going to be set up in the East Wing of the house, close to where Maggie’s bedroom was.
“Philip!”
Philip whirled around to see who was calling him. “Nicole. What are you doing here?”
“Me and Daniel are moving in.”
I wish Chloe had been honest with Philip. Pretending she doesn't have any feelings about him not coming back for the weekend when she just got through telling Mary that she's having a hard time dealing with him being gone doesn't bode well.
I figured Daniel would want to be at the mansion to tend to Victor. Philip isn't going to be happy with it though.
Makes sense that there would be a lot of stuff to move in, and that Daniel would want to be there to make uri Victor is getting the best care possible.
I understand Chloe not wanting to add to Philip's stress by making him feel guilty about staying with Victor. She's being understanding and as loving as possible. I think eventually she'll either crack and move in with him or she will tell him, but not now. He's still coping the best he could.
If anything I was hoping they’d address her bringing parker at a later date I think the conversation needs to happen soon maybe not right this second but soon I wonder how Philip will feel about Nicole and Daniel moving in I’m glad Chloe didn’t show too much upset, that’s what her session was for to release it so she can be strong for Philip in his time of need She doesn’t need to add to his guilt and I think she’s doing great
love how detailed the chs are, Philip walking up the hill was so “graphic” i felt im there
Chloe was so supportive of philip during the call, she voiced no regret over him not going over there during the weekend.
She needs to go to salem asap , philip is slipping and their communication is getting affected.
