I doubt Melanie would have found the situation at the Towers Hotel to be all that innocent. It wouldn't have helped his case at all to tell her about it IMO.

We are just getting started with Chapter six. First up we had Bo finally go in and see Philip. A major step for him. And we had Melanie trying to make sense of the new information that Chloe gave her...that she and Philip had been living together at the Towers hotel.
Thanks JKJPatch for posting that thought provoking question earlier in the thread.
In the latest update, we go back for one last trip to the Towers with Chloe. (Well last trip without Philip) It was a memory of a night, fairly early in their time at the hotel...a nice glimpse of their dynamic. I always enjoy writing the Towers stuff. Chloe and Philip have such a rich history to pull from.
So how do we feel about what Chloe told Philip? That she can't get used to the idea of him being married and that she always thinks of him as AVAILABLE?

So how do we feel about what Chloe told Philip? That she can't get used to the idea of him being married and that she always thinks of him as AVAILABLE? I think that she thinks of him as single because during most of their relationship(s), he was single. And even when he wasn't, he was still there for her, so she thinks of Philip as someone she can summon at any time and he'll come running, because mostly, he has. How did you mean that statement Slyn?

Philip always makes himself available to be there for Chloe in one way or another so that's why she thinks of him that way.

Just posted the third segment of chapter 6.... Chloe & Drew. I had a few goals when writing this part
1 - I wanted to reveal a little more to Chloe about her lawyer. She now has a spy reference and the knowledge that he is flexible with his interpretation of the law.
2 - I wanted Chloe to react to what Melanie told her Philip had said...that he would give her up if Melanie would take him back
3 - I wanted Chloe to realize that Parker was her responsibility. Philip could not be a consideration any longer. I needed her to realize he was ill and not able to be around. I also wanted her to react to the fact that another woman was raising her child. I wanted her to react rationally to that, not in her "unstable" ways of the past. I wanted her to think about how the fact that Parker was bonding with Melanie and what that would mean for her own relationship with her son.
and last I wanted Victor to drop that bomb of course. ;D
So did anything stand out to anyone in this? I included a few anvils for the future (I always do) and I explored a few things a bit more...like how Chloe really feels about who Philip married.

A few things stood out to me.
First, I liked Drew calling himself a spy's son and your nod to Shane.
So Brady isn’t paying for the attorney. I wonder who is. Daniel? I can’t imagine Daniel doing it.
I caught a parallel between Chloe and Melanie in that Chloe didn’t necessarily believe what Melanie said about Philip giving Chloe up if it meant Melanie would take him back. In the other chapter, Melanie wasn’t sure she believed that Philip and Chloe shared a room at the Towers.
During separate streams of consciousness, Chloe determined that both Philip and Parker deserve better than Melanie.
I'm really upset that she's going to lockup and then up to the state mental facility. She'll never see Philip again.
She was really determined to be strong though and that was good to see.

I was glad to see Chloe regaining her strength. I was curious about who's paying for her attorney too. I guess I'd never considered that Chloe doesn't know who Drew's parents are. I agree that both Philip and Parker deserve better than Melanie. If I were Chloe I'd make it my life's work to ensure that Parker is as far away from Melanie, Victor and Kate as possible. Both Chloe and Melanie need to consider the fact that Philip's statement about staying away from Chloe was made before he knew about Parker. He's a game changer ladies.

Chloe getting stronger is a good thing. She needs to be to make it through all of this. I am sure Chloe will have heard of Shane, if she really thought about it, But he wasn't around town while she was living there and he is an "older dude", he just wouldn't be on her radar right away. So the name Drew (Andrew) Donovan would mean nothing to Chloe..he didn't grow up in Salem with her. As far as neither Melanie or Chloe fully believing what the other said in terms of Philip... I think that is understandable since they are rivals and don't trust each other. Really only Philip could set the record straight with this. I wonder what Philip will think he and Parker deserve.... Fluffysmom - You are right Parker is a game changer....in so many ways...as we shall see. There is a very big anvil in this last segment that foreshadows and important part of the upcoming story. Next update both Chloe and Melanie are locked up...

I really enjoyed the flashback scene at the lake. I loved Philip reciting the poem to Chloe. I liked him telling her that he likes her for being different than all of the other girls. I loved that he didn't push her to go farther and in fact he apologized if things had gone further than she wanted. I loved the description of Phloe's connection in the final paragraph.
I think Chloe's feelings frightened her even more so because she'd never loved anyone before. For Philip it was his first experience with romantic love whereas Chloe had never truly loved anyone before Philip. She loved Philip before she even loved Nancy and Craig. I don't think she'd ever felt loved by anyone either. Philip and Nancy were the first people who ever truly loved Chloe. She didn't grow up feeling unconditional love...or any love for that matter. So it makes complete sense to me that she'd be so frightened and overwhelmed by her feelings for Philip back then. She'd also always felt the need to keep her emotions under control and being close to Philip made her lose all control.

Philip ever the romantic gentleman back then. I used to love how his true nature was so opposite what he projected to the world. It was sad once he got his heart broken by Chloe that he shut that part of himself off for so many years. Very true about Philip being one of the first people Chloe ever cared about...ever. It must have been such an overwhelming experience for her.

I just wondered if you had any comments or hints for us after the last update Slyn. I'm looking forward to the next update. Hmm hint for next update - Why is Sonny so protective of his cousin Philip? Why doesn't he want him to be seen as a cheater or left by his wife? We are going a little deeper into Sonny...
