The final chapter of "Carrafe Investigations" will be posted tomorrow morning.
The next story, "The One I Dream About" will start on Monday. It is definitely rated M for mature!

CARRIE: I’m glad we were able to help her. RAFE: And we got ourselves a nifty bonus too. CARRIE: Yeah, that IS fantastic. We’ll have extra cash to be able to…. RAFE: (interrupts her) That’s not what I’m talking about. (goes to her and embraces her) This is the best bonus I could get. (lowers his head to kiss her) CARRIE: (weakly pushes him away) No. I can’t. RAFE: (confused) You can’t? What do you mean? CARRIE: I can’t do this to Sami again. I’m her sister. Sisters shouldn’t hurt each other like this. (mad now) And we’re both married. You JUST renewed your vows. How can you just forget that? RAFE: (moves away from her) You’re right. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I know how unhappy you are and I guess my boy-scout nature was trying to take over. I have this uncontrollable urge to save the day. CARRIE: (madder) So you kissed me out of duty? Because you felt sad for me? RAFE: No! Not at all. It wasn’t like that. CARRIE: Then what was it like? RAFE: You are an amazing woman. Simple as that. If I’d only met you instead of her….. CARRIE: But you didn’t. And while I may be unhappy in my marriage, I’m still married. I won’t be THAT girl. RAFE: (sadly) I don’t want to be THAT guy either. Affairs can be devastating. Look what it did to Nancy, and it was all in her head. CARRIE: (places her hand on his cheek) See. THIS is why you are a knight in shining armor. RAFE: (covers her hand with his) I’m sorry. CARRIE: (removes her hand) Me too. (shakes off the moment) So, are we going to be able to work together? RAFE: I think so. We can be professional, right? CARRIE: Right. The End AUTHOR’S NOTE: Thank you so much for reading this story and commenting on it. I had a great time writing this story and I have a feeling this couple might continue to inspire me down the road. There’s just something about them… SECOND NOTE: For those of you wondering about the names “Randy” and “Joan,” it was a nod to the Buffy fans out there. They know what it means. |

Great ending DD!! I think it is very true to their characters! As much as I would love for them to clear the desk and get it on, I think this is more true to who they are.

I agree with Mrs. M. Great story DD. And when I was watching the "hot" scenes on Thursday's episode, I thought that it was art imitating ... well ... art. It was as if they were reading your story. Great job, DD. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to your next effort!

Sweet ending. I hope you continue to write for them .... keep building their relationship...so many things could change and alter the friendship into something more serious. Just loved it! Really look forward to your next story. |

Loved this story! Once Rafe finds out about Sami and when (not if) Austin acts on Abby's feelings...I could definitely see this happening onscreen...but not written nearly as well unless TPTB are reading your fanfic.
