Philip did a great, age appropriate job of explaining.

I'm glad that Parker accepted the explanation, asked a few questions, and resumed having fun.
I enjoyed Chloe and Philip's conversation.

Chapter 7a
The next day after dropping Parker off at school, Chloe got a text from Brady asking what she’s up to today. When she texted back “Not much,” he invited her to meet him for breakfast at his hotel. Before she had a chance to think too much about should she or shouldn’t she, she turned into the parking lot.
Standing in the lobby, she took her phone out and dialed Brady’s cell.
“Hey Chloe. What’s up?” he said when he answered.
“You asked me to meet you. I’m here in the hotel lobby.”
“Great! I’m in the Garden Cafe,” he told her. “It’s off the lobby. Come join me for breakfast.”
Chloe looked around and spotted the entrance to the cafe. “I’ll be there in a second.”
~~ The hotel cafe was bright and speckled with dozens of round, linen-covered tables. In the center was a series of rectangular tables where a feast of breakfast items were on display. The waiter poured coffee into Chloe’s cup and left the table.
“There’s a great buffet,” Brady said, pointing behind him. He stabbed his fork into a link sausage and brought it to his mouth.
“I’m not hungry. I’ll just have a cup of coffee.” She took a sip.
“So, you look a little nervous. What’s up?” he asked.
“I couldn’t sleep after seeing you the other night. I feel so bad about what happened at dinner. Philip feels bad too.”
He set his fork on the plate. “What happened? I’m not following.”
“You know. The way Philip was goading you. It wasn’t right and he regrets it too.”
Brady raised an eyebrow. “You don’t need to make excuses for him.”
“I’m not,” Chloe insisted. “We talked about it and he said himself that he wanted to apologize.”
“Then why are you acting as his ambassador?”
Chloe’s lips parted but no words came out. Finally, she said, “It’s hard for him—” but before she could finish her sentence, Brady reached across the table and patted her hand.
“It’s okay, Chloe. I get it.” He shrugged and said, “Frankly, I wasn’t surprised by the way he acted the other night. He’s pretty predictable.” He adjusted the napkin on his lap. “Look, my relationship with my uncle has always run hot and cold. Sure, we had our warm moments, especially as kids, but whether we were playing basketball, vying for a woman, or competing for Victor's favor, it’s been an endless competition where no one really wins, except that Philip always thinks I win,” he said pointing to himself. “And win unfairly at that.” He covered her hand with his. “It’s sweet of you to care, but my relationship with Philip—or lack of—isn’t something for you to lose sleep over. It is what it is. It’s just a fact of life and it probably won’t ever change.”
“Well it makes me sad, especially because you both mean so much to me, and I feel responsible for the way your relationship has deterioriated.”

I'm gonna have to hear more of this conversation before I make comments either way. At this point, both seem to be walking a very thin line here....... and on ice.

Well, this conversation is interesting. Not sure I like where this is going.

Brady what are you up to? I really don’t trust his intentions And Chloe is just blindly stupid when it comes to him, she seems to like the drama

I don't like where this is going at all. Chloe and Brady seem to be two people who can't stop themselves from making stupid decisions.

I fear Brady is misinterpreting Chloe's friendship.

Chapter 7b
“My relationship with Philip—or lack thereof—isn’t something for you to lose sleep over,” Brady told Chloe. “It is what it is. It’s just a fact of life and it probably won’t ever change.”
“Well it makes me sad, especially because you both mean so much to me, and I feel responsible for the way your relationship has deterioriated.”
“Well don’t. We’re grown men and we make our own choices.”
She sighed heavily. Her eyes fell on the fresh fruit display and she jumped at the opportunity to change the subject, feeling caught in the middle, as she always did, between Philip and Brady—the man she loves and the man she used to love. “That fruit looks so good. Maybe I will have a fruit plate.”
“Help yourself.”
When Chloe returned to the table, she said, “This is nice. Being out with a friend.”
“Don’t you and Philip ever go out?”
“Of course, but it’s usually a Parker-centered outing.” She smiled broadly. “He loves the beach, actually. Yesterday, he buried Philip in the sand.” She took out her phone and scrolled to the photo she took.
Brady chuckled and handed back the phone. “But you don’t love the beach. I remember you said you weren’t much of a beach baby.”
“True, but I love watching Philip and Parker together. They have this amazing bond.” She bit into a red grape. “This fruit is delicious.”
“You’re bored though. I can see it in your eyes and hear it in your voice.” Before Choe had a chance to protest, Brady added, “I admit I’m a little at loose ends too. I could use a project.” His brow knit as he watched her eating the fruit. “Hmmm. I have an idea.”
Looking up from her plate, she asked, “What idea?”
“Finish your breakfast and I’ll show you.”
“Show me? I’m intrigued.”
He smiled slyly. “Trust me, you’re gonna love it.”

She put herself in the middle of those two. I'm not going to feel sorry for her about that.
And I'm not going to feel sorry for her about her being bored or restless. She needs to woman-up and tell Philip how she's feeling. This going around and seeing Brady (no matter how innocent either one of them will claim it to be) is not going to end well and I can see Brady calling Philip selfish and throwing it in Philip's face that he (Brady) recognized right off the bat that Chloe was unhappy.
Brady is a rescuer. And Chloe like to be a damsel in distress. This is how it started last time.

If Philip and Chloe ever talked about how they were feeling, this wouldn’t happen. But, of course, they don’t. I still don’t trust Brady, but Chloe is allowing herself to be put into a situation that will likely damage her and Philip’s relationship.

Chloe may have enjoyed Parker burying Philip in the sand but she seems unaware she has been burying her feelings too...and now letting Brady in and putting herself in the middle of the two guys.

If Chloe, Philip, and Parker are going to live here for the foreseeable future she needs to find a job or volunteer work. I don't have a good feeling about whatever plan Brady is going to suggest.
