Chloe doesn't think there are any problems, yet she can't talk to Philip about Gwen? She doesn't talk to him about Parker's sessions and her concerns?
There's no problems yet the minute Parker yells, she stops a pretty important conversation so she can run off and not face the issue? I know that Parker needed tending to/help but she knew when she walked away that this was not going to be a quick ordeal.
Both of them live in some kind of alternate reality where they believe that there should be problems between them and that they can go and do whatever they want without discussing it with the other. Then the moment reality jumps in and throws a curveball, they get mad at the other one and start moping around about the other one leaving. Wash, rinse, repeat. Nothing changes with these two and it's why they never last. They don't compliment and bring out the best in each other. They bring out the fears and insecurities in the other. That's not a healthy relationship. Getting it right in the bedroom is great, but if you can't get it right outside of the bedroom too, it's time to re-evaluate the relationship.

Chapter 20i
Chloe raised just her eyes when she became aware Philip was watching them. “Angel, do you think you can work on your homework alone for a little while? I need to talk to Uncle Philip for a few minutes.” Parker nodded and she kissed his head before getting up. She walked past Philip and into their bedroom. Philip slowly followed her into their bedroom. She closed the door.
Is he okay?” Philip asked.
“He is.”
“Are you okay?” Philip asked. “Or maybe a better question is, are we okay?” When she didn’t answer right away, he said, “Tell me what you’re thinking.”
With those words, Chloe knew Philip was trying to remind her of a poem he wrote her long ago, when they were teens and were starting to fall in love. But this wasn’t about the past. It was about the present, and a future she was no longer so sure of.
Chloe shook her head from side to side. “Philip, you’re such a wonderful man—the best man I’ve ever known, except for one serious flaw.”
Jealousy,” he answered.
“I’d call it insecurity. Philip, look at me. I need you to know that if I wanted to be with Brady, I’d be with Brady.”
“I’m aware. But you’ve been spending a lot of time with him lately.”
There was a long silence. Chloe felt like they’d been already been over this before. Again and again. But she didn’t want to fight about, so instead she said, “I guess you’re right. I just don’t know how to convince you that Brady wants nothing from me. Brady is a friend and he’s my financier right now. We have a business arrangement and no, we’re not mixing business with pleasure. Any romantic relationship we had was over so long ago that it feels like it happened to two different people. I don’t think of him that way anymore.”
“Not even a little?”
“Not even at all.” She took a step closer. “Remember how I told you I’m paying Brady back over seven years? That means I still expected to be here — here with you on Marathon Key in seven years. I expected to have a thriving business and a fabulous life.”
Philip smiled and took a step closer as she continued. “A while ago you asked if there was anything you could do to help. Remember? You were referring to Parker, but Philip, I need something from you more than anything. I know it’s hard but I need you to figure out how to manage your insecurity. I can’t deal with this and with Parker’s issues at the same time. Maybe you need to talk to a therapist too.”
“I don’t need to see a shrink,” Philip blurted.

A therapist might not be a bad idea, Though I still think Chloe is fooling herself. I’m sure she thinks what she had with Brady is over, but I don’t trust that Brady feels the same.

Philip isn't the only one here that needs to talk to a therapist. They both need couple's counseling. They need to learn how to communicate with each other and how to deal with conflict. Chloe's pointing out something that she's done claiming that Philip should have put 2 and 2 together. Why does he have to the one to put the pieces together? Why can't they just discuss what the "Plans" or intentions are? I guarantee that if Philip spent as much time with Belle, Mimi, or even Melanie at this point that Chloe would feel the same way that Philip does right now and she'd be madder than hell if he downplayed it or continued to spend so much time after she made her feelings known repeatedly.

I agree with mae00. Couples counseling was my thought too. Philip is insecure but Chloe is not seeing things from his perspective at all. It's not all one person's problem, not if they're a couple.

Chloe may well have no romantic interest in Brady. However Philip and Chloe don't know if Brady spending so much time in Marathon Key and financing Chloe's night club means he has a romantic interest in her.

Chapter 20j
“Philip,” Chloe said. “I need something from you more than anything. I know it’s hard but I need you to figure out how to manage this insecurity. I can’t deal with this and with Parker’s issues at the same time. Maybe you need to talk to a therapist too.”
“I don’t need to see a shrink,” Philip blurted.
Chloe didn’t respond immediately. She let the silence speak for her. After a minute, she said, “I wish you’d think about it. We can go together if you want. But, Philip—” She started to choke up. “I’m tired of going around in circles about this.”
Nodding slowly, he said, “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I do need to talk to someone about my issues. I’ve always been afraid to open up that Pandora’s box. My parents. That could fill a volume,” he said with a bitter laugh. “The war. My leg. My failed relationships.” He forced a smile. “Hell, I just psychoanalyzed myself. No wonder I’m insecure.”
“Having Kate and Victor for parents is enough to make anyone neurotic,” Chloe agreed. “I know it’s hard to peel away the layers, but holding everything inside is far worse.”
“Especially if I end up pushing away the people I love most. I do love you.”
“I know. And I love you. Only you.” She held her hand over her mouth to keep from crying. “But you’re making it hard for me to breathe. I need to be able to be friends with people, even if you don’t like them. I need to be able to pursue my career, even if you think there are ulterior motives. You can’t try to change my life behind my back.”
An uncomfortable silence fell between them. “Look,” Chloe finally said. “I still need to review those blueprints and contact the contractor. I think I’ll sleep in Parker’s room tonight.”
Philip’s eyes widened. “Chloe, no.”
“I just need some space. I need to think.” She started to walk away.
Philip grasped her arm. “Chloe, wait. I’m sorry. You’re right. I’m letting my insecurities ruin everything. Give me another chance, please. I can’t lose you. I’ll do anything. I’ll see a therapist.”
“Just as long as it’s not Gwen,” she said, half-joking. She looked at Philip’s hand gripping her arm, then looked up at his face. His desperation broke her heart. She wanted to hug him, to comfort him, but she had to stay strong. This issue was too big to sweep under the rug again. “You’re holding me too tight.”
Philip released his grip. “Sorry.”
“Philip, I didn’t say I’m leaving you. I just need some space right now. I need you to give me some space. Please.”
Taking a step backward, Philip nodded. “Okay,” he said quietly.

I agree, Philip does need to see a therapist. If nothing else, so he can stop worrying that he and Chloe are gonna break up every time they disagree.

Philip getting therapy will help, but Philip and Chloe still need couples counseling. All this insecurity and jumping to conclusions is helping nobody.

I don't like how she put all of this on Philip. I agree that he needs to talk to someone but her past actions have not helped the situation and she hasn't done much to put Philip's mind at ease. These two need to communicate with each other and need to stop the double standards. She wants some space - fine. But she can't get mad at Philip later on when he gives it to her.
she wants to be able to be friends with people he doesn't like. I have 2 issues with this.
1. Out of respect for the other, they should most definitely be considerate of the other's feelings regarding who is a part of their lives. I'm not saying that she can't be friends with Brady, but out of respect for Philip, she should consider his feelings and not spend so much time with him....or try to involve Philip more in their activities. Cutting him out of that aspect of her life makes it look like she's hiding something. Especially given hers and Brady's history.
2. She can't make this kind of claim and then turn around and say that Philip can't see Gwen. Ulterior motive or not, Philip considers Gwen a friend. Just like Chloe says she considers Brady a friend. If Chloe wants to cut Gwen out, then she's going to have to cut Brady out too. Double standards never work out well.

I agree that this isn’t all on Philip It’s actually not really ok that she’s so close with Brady I worked with a guy who I became friends with I found out that he had more than friendship feelings and I literally cut off the friendship It’s inappropriate and serves no benefit to continue the friendship Brady has motives for sure but Philip also has reason to be insecure about it This is a two way street

Therapy could be helpful for Philip. I agree that Gwen shouldn't be his therapist since he considers her a friend and she's already seeing Parker.

Chapter 20k
Philip tossed and turned in bed alone. It was hard to sleep with the crashing thunder, flashes of lightning, howling wind, and rain battering the terrace door. In a way, he was glad Chloe was sleeping with Parker tonight. Parker hated loud, sudden noises and he’d be freaking out if he was alone. Parker surely would have crawled into their bed in weather like this.
Philip was freaking out too, but in a different way. He couldn’t stop his mind from thinking the worst. He knew this was his fault. The chance of Brady selling the club to him had been a longshot, and he shouldn’t have tried to buy it without consulting with Chloe first.
Propped on his pillow, he picked up his iPhone and started mindless searching the Internet. As it was, Chloe had no choice about being around Brady. He was her financier and business partner. They were working hard to get the club in shape to open it to the public. It wasn’t as if she could avoid him, even if she wanted to.
Without realizing it, he wound up on the psychologytoday.com website looking for information on couples counseling. The first step, it said, was to find the right counselor. Oh sure, Philip thought, remembering how hard it was to find a psychologist for Parker. But he couldn’t give up, no matter what. His life was at stake. If Chloe was willing to give counseling a try, so was he.
His phone vibrated. He couldn't help but hope it was Chloe, but it wasn't. It was a text alert from the Coast Guard. He was needed at the Coast Guard cutter immediately. He knew the call would come, but hoped he would have gotten a solid night’s sleep before it did. He threw back the covers and dressed quickly.
Passing Parker’s room before heading downstairs, he quietly opened the door. Chloe and Parker appeared to be sound asleep. He decided it was best to let them sleep, so he softly closed the door.
Once downstairs, he grabbed an energy bar and took a bite. He hadn’t eaten a thing since lunch yesterday, but there was no time for a real breakfast.
Philip opened one of the kitchen drawers, and pulled out the notepad they used to write a running grocery list. He flipped to clean sheet of paper and jotted a note.
Chloe,
Coast Guard called me to help with rescues. Didn’t want to wake you, but I have to tell you I’m sorry. I was wrong to try and buy the club without talking to you first.
I know you hate the idea of riding out the storm in a shelter, but you and Parker will be safest there. If we lose contact, stay put. I’ll find you. Just don’t give up on us.
P&C4E
Philip tore the note from the pad, stuffed it in his pocket, and left.

I think it would have been better to wake Chloe. Does Philip really think a note saying he's working during a major storm and he's sorry about everything is sufficient?
