What did everyone think of the season premier? I liked it a lot and am looking forward to tonight's. As usual, Eddie's boss aggravated me.. Looking the other way on shoplifting makes no sense whatsoever, and claiming it was the mother's job to teach her son not to shoplift was just plain stupid. He wasn't five years old. He was old enough to know better and clearly relished getting away with it. (And was so rude and obnoxious!) I also got the sense that the conversation between Frank and the mayor was foreshadowing for how the series will end. Here's my writeup: www.tvfanatic.com/2024/02/blue-bloods-season-14-episode-1-review-loyalty/

Thanks heroicmuse. I need to watch the season opener. Last night's show didn't hold my interest. Twenty minutes in, I shut it off and went to sleep. Maybe I was tired. I'll watch the entire episode at some point.

Why did they rerun Episode 1 just 3 weeks into the new season?

Why did they rerun Episode 1 just 3 weeks into the new season? For some reason absolutely no new shows were on any network this week. Not sure why.

Disappointed that Jamie, my favorite character, had no role in last night's episode. He was only in the last scene at the Reagan dinner table, and barely there at that.

And also, did it seem like Danny was jealous when the detective asked Maria out for coffee, or was that just my (wishful) imagination?

And also, did it seem like Danny was jealous when the detective asked Maria out for coffee, or was that just my (wishful) imagination? I was hoping he would be and felt like he had no reaction, which disappointed me. I missed Jamie too this week. I liked Frank's story though I was confused he said Garrett liked the woman. I thought Garrett was married.

I thought last night's episode was the best of the season. It was very balanced between all the main characters. Erin, who's my least favorite, wasn't in it much. We got a little Jamie and Edie together which is more than we usually get. We got a little glimpse of Anthony's personal life.
I disagree with everyone telling us suddenly that Frank is intimidating. He's always been approachable and his staff and his children have always been able to talk to him--until yesterday's episode, for the plot. That didn't work for me.

I didn't like the Frank story either. It made no sense. We've seen Abigail walk into his office and tell him exactly what she thinks several times recently. The rest of the episode was great. I especially liked Jamie's story and I thought Danny and Baez were moving toward romance.

I wasn't crazy about last night's episode (May 10). Jamie is the most cool-headed of the Reagans and it's not believable that he would get into a fist fight with his nephew over something stupid. It also seemed to come out of nowhere. I know they never really bonded and don't seem to like each other, but it felt like a plot point that didn't fit the characters.
I did like Edie's story. I think that's what the bulk of policing is, domestic issues like that.
And it was good to see Sean getting involved in a case with Danny and being able to help solve it--and getting a date out of it! That was cute. Maybe Sean will have interest in going into the family business after all. Fourth generation.

I thought it was a great episode but I also thought Jamie was out of character. I've always loved Jamie because he's level-headed and sensitive. I know he and Joe don't get along but that was silly. I did laugh when Frank said he didn't want to waste more time with this stupidity though.
For once I actually liked Erin's story. Most of the time she's annoying but this time she was actually trying to help protect the defendant from that stupid lawyer who wasn't acting in his best interest.
I loved the Sean story. If Linda was still alive she would have had a lot to say. I thought it was so cute when Sean said he was going on a date and Henry excitedly asked if he would tell them about it later.

I really enjoyed Friday night's episode, first episode of the second half of the final season. Nice balance of stories, except I'm over Frank and the Cardinal. This one was really contrived.
I loved getting some romance for Jamie and Edie and them talking about having a baby. Maybe the final final episode will show her revealing she's pregnant. I'd love a spinoff for Jamko.

I thought it was great too. I'm with you about the Archbishop or whatever he is, Kpatch. From what I've seen online, most people are. Hopefully we won't see him again. I was so sure Eddie and Jamie were going to end up adopting the little girl Eddie was taking care of, but if this leads to them having their own baby, that's great too. I really will miss this show when it ends.

As great as last week was, is as bad as this week was. There was nothing original, except maybe the gambling story. Still can't figure out why Jamie is sometimes in uniform and sometimes in plain clothes, cop/detective. I'd rather have Lyle Lovitt back than the bloke who was Danny's partner this week. No Edie story. She brings heart to her cases. The only interesting moment was when they did a living wake for Henry.

I wasn't terribly happy with this week's either, especially the story with Danny and the Brit. I hate when Danny works with a random guest partner. I'd much rather have more screen time for Baez. But this guy was the WORST. He was so condescending and obnoxious. If Danny had to have a guest, I agree that it should have been Lyle Lovett. Jamie's story was silly and I was disappointed that there was no followup on Jamie and Eddie's thoughts about having a baby. I loved Erin standing up to that stupid DA she works for. She's not usually my favorite, but she really reminded me of Frank this week, and I was impressed that Frank had so much compassion for the mayor after the mayor's stupid intervention caused the ex-cop to do something worse. I'm worried about Henry. First he said "until I die" last week and now he wanted a living wake. I hope they don't end it with him dying.
