Hard to believe that it's only been a few days since the stuff on the boat. It feels a lot longer! The end of the chapter was cute!

The end of the chapter was awesome. I hope this whole thing has helped Chloe put some things in perspective so that she can stop blaming Philip for everything in the world and start working on their marriage.

I'm not a bit surprised that Chloe fell asleep with Parker. I'd want my child close to me too after that ordeal.

Chapter 31
Philip rolled over and winced. He opened his eyes and looked to his right. Parker’s bed was empty. Fear washed over him until he focused on the sounds coming from the kitchen along with the smell of toast and peanut butter. He took a deep sigh of relief.
Slowly unfurling his body, he mumbled, “I’m too old for this.” When he was in the Marines a dozen years ago, he regularly slept on floors, especially when his troop was on maneuvers. If you were tired enough, you could fall asleep anywhere.
He pulled himself into a sitting position and stretched his back. His body had been through a workout yesterday, with all that walking in the heat under stressful conditions. He was seriously out of shape. He’d have to start hitting the gym in the Titan building again if he didn’t want to get old before his time. Having only one leg meant everything was harder for Philip, but he swore ten years ago he’d never use that as an excuse.
“Oh, you’re up,” Chloe said from the doorway. “I made Parker scrambled eggs and toast. Want some?”
“I’d love some. And coffee,” Philip said.
Chloe stepped further into the room. “Do you need help getting up?”
Philip shook his head no. “I just need a minute is all.” Chloe never coddled him or saw him as disabled. It was one of the things he loved best about her. If he had said he needed help, she’d have helped him. But once he said no, she’d never push. She always allowed him his dignity.
Chloe nodded and started to leave when Philip caught her hand. “Are you okay?”
She looked down at him. Chloe shrugged. “I guess. Why?”
“I don’t know,” he said looking up at her intently. “You seem a little off.”
Chloe pressed her lips together as tears welled in her eyes. “It’s gonna take a while,” Chloe admitted. “The important thing is Parker’s home.” She slid her hand out of Philip’s grasp and left the room.

I can only imagine that it will take time for things to feel safe and stable again. Even though Parker's home, that fear would have to linger for a while. I definitely hope that some sessions with Mary are set up for each member of the family, especially since there's so much more going on here. Good week, boss! Will we get a preview or two?

Hmmm, Not sure about Chloe. Is she still blaming Philip deep down?

I agree, something is a bit off about Chloe. Wonder what it is. Can we please have previews, Kpatch?

I am sure this is upsetting for both Philip and Chloe, but I wonder what she is feeling and not expressing.

Chloe is being to vague about this. She needs to say what's on her mind. Get it out there so that they can deal with it. It's been a horrible ordeal for everyone so keeping it hidden is not going to help at all. I think her comment about "take some time" has several meanings.

There are lots of emotions to deal with now that Parker is home. It's scary to think someone could walk into your child's daycare and sign them out and disappear. I'm sure they both feel guilty that they were away on a vacation when Parker was kidnapped.

Maybe Chloe is waiting for therapy to say what's on her mind Or perhaps she's not sure herself This is a very overwhelming situation for all three of them I just hope she's not blaming him because that's unfair

I think that she does blame him deep down. Possibly, she can't get the image out of her head of Philip in bed with Monica, willing to do anything he could to get Parker back?
