Ooh I can't wait to see what Mary has to say and see how everyone is doing once morning comes.

It makes sense that Parker doesn't want to go back to the daycare center. I hope he feels safe again soon. Thanks for the previews Kpatch.

Chapter 30a
Out in the hall, Mary squeezed Chloe’s hand. “I’m going to go now, but I’ll check back with you tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’m just a phone call away if you need me.” She looked at Philip. “Or if you need me, Philip. Or if Parker does. I know you’ve been through an ordeal. Don’t try and handle your emotions alone, okay?”
Chloe blinked back tears and nodded. Mary turned to Daniel. “Let’s go.”
Daniel recoiled. “Me?”
“They need time alone. They need to get back to normal as soon as possible and I assume you’re not normally here in the evenings.”
“Well no, but—”
“No buts,” Mary said, grasping Daniel’s arm. “Come.”
Daniel allowed Mary to drag him away. Philip smirked a bit as he turned back toward Chloe. But she wasn’t there. He went into Parker’s room and found her on the floor next to Parker, stroking his head. “We missed you angel, but it’s over, okay? You’re back and we’re together again.”
Parker looked up at Philip in the doorway, then at Chloe. “Can you give me a baff, Mommy?”
“Of course, angel. That's a really good idea.” She got off the floor and held out her hand. “Come, let’s go run water for a nice warm bubble bath.”
Philip followed them and leaned on the door jamb to the bathroom watching Chloe get Parker ready for a bath. A hot shower is what sounded good to Parker’s father right now. He cleared his throat. “Chloe, I’m gonna take a quick shower.”
Chloe nodded but kept her focus on Parker.

Glad they're gonna try to get back to normal, though it'll probably take a while.

I guess everyone wants to wash off the stink of this ordeal. Hopefully that will help them begin to get back to normal.

I'm glad Mary told Daniel to leave She was right to do so I dunno why I have a feeling Chloe is going to treat Philip like dirt now blaming him or accusing They need serious work as a couple and a family

Parker's reactions are very normal. I'm glad that Mary got Daniel to leave, but fully understand his hesitance given Parker's responses and questions. I would have a very hard time leaving him too.
I think that Chloe is going to blame Philip too. Blame him for them leaving for some alone time, blame him for Monica being the one that kidnapped Parker, for Parker not feeling safe in his own home, and throw accusations based on the bits and pieces that she overheard on the wire/radio.
I also think that Parker got a small glimpse of normalcy while staying with Mary and Dick and he wants to go back to that. Given everything that he's been through in his short little life, I can't say I blame him.

I have to go back & review. Why was Parker in a day care? Do they both work during the day and why don't they have an in-home sitter? Chloe seems to not want to take her eyes off of Parker and sounds like Philip will be getting the cold shoulder.
FYI, little chuckle that Mary's husband's name is Dick...like the Dick Van Dyke shows?? LOL

Thanks fluffysmom !!! Yes, sportsgirl , Titan has an onsite day care center that is managed by Parker's former nanny, Lucinda. As for Mary's husband, I forgot you missed some of the earlier installments. Here's everything you need to know about him. I think you will enjoy it!

I was glad that Parker was able to ask for what he needed to feel better.

Thanks fluffysmom & Kpatch... yep that was fun, but now I also understand Chloe's standoffishness (is this a word?) towards Philip.

Chapter 30b
Philip stepped out of the shower in the master bathroom. He dropped his towel, re-attached his prosthetic, and pulled on a fresh t-shirt and boxers. Standing next to the bed, he figured Chloe would be tucked in by now. As for himself, he was beyond exhausted and the bed looked all too inviting. He could hardly wait to climb into his nice firm Tempurpedic mattress, custom-made pillow, and soft, high-thread count, Egyptian cotton-blend sheets. He pictured himself lying next to Chloe and locking her in his arms, feeling secure for the first time in 48 hours.
He knew the two of them had unfinished business but it felt like a year since they returned from their pre-honeymoon instead of just a couple days. None of that mattered anymore, at least not to him. He hoped Chloe had more perspective after what happened and that she’d be over her anger about the fact the wedding on the boat was just ceremonial and not legal. Then there was that little issue about Chloe blaming Philip for what Monica did.
He wandered down the corridor toward the bathroom. The water was still draining from the tub and there were some wet towels on the floor, but the room was empty.
He turned and walked back up the hall and stopped at Parker’s bedroom. The door was partway open and he stuck his head in before opening it the rest of the way.
Chloe was lying in Parker’s bed facing the wall and holding her son in her arms. Philip tiptoed closer and saw that Chloe held a teddy bear in her hands. It was Parker’s former favorite toy from two or three years ago.
Parker opened his eyes and Philip smiled involuntarily. The boy put his index finger to his mouth, letting Philip know he should be quiet because Chloe was asleep. Philip leaned over the bed and nodded. He adjusted the blanket over the both of them.
He turned around, and instead of leaving, he got down on the floor and propped his fist under his ear so he could watch Parker and Chloe. This was a much better idea than the Tempurpedic.

I hate that Philip is still worried about Chloe being angry with him over both the trip and Monica...but the end of this scene is just one big "Awwwww!"
