Chapter 248

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
JADE: I thought I did. I mean, I'd heard rumors about you. You were, like, the ultimate bad girl. I thought I could be just like you. And then I met the real you, and I knew that I had to talk you into training me to be just like you. What I didn't know was that it would be so much work.
Jan rolled her eyes.
JAN: Kid, being good is easy, being bad is so much harder. It takes effort. It takes strategic planning. It takes drive, a desire to see your opponents fall.
JADE: All of which I have.
JAN: Maybe. We'll see.
JADE: So, you're still gonna train men, then?
JAN: If you still want me to.
JADE: Of course I do. I just hate how much it feels like we're procrastinating. I want to get into the fun stuff.
JAN: Patience, my girl. We'll get there, eventually. Man, I didn't know having a daughter would be this complicated.
JADE: What?
JAN: What?
JADE: What did you just say?
JAN: Look, don't make a big deal out of it or anything. I mean, you're about half my age, so naturally, I think of you as a daughter.
JADE: You're lying. Oh my god. It all makes sense now.
JAN: What are you blabbering on about?
JADE: Look at me.
JAN: I am.
JADE: No. That's just it. You haven't actually looked at me since the first time I walked up to you. Oh, sure, you've glanced in my direction all the time, but you haven't actually looked me in the face.
Jade put her baby in a nearby stroller. Then, she walked over to Jan and made her look at her face to face.
JADE: Whoa! That is freaky!
Jan shrugged Jade's hands off of her.
JAN: What is your issue?
JADE: I've always wondered why. Why I don't look a thing like either of my parents. Not that I really knew my mom, anyway. She left when I was barely able to walk. But I've seen pictures. I don't look like either of them...but I look a lot like you.
Jan laughed nervously.
JAN: What?
JADE: Like I said, it all makes sense now. The reason you took me and Emmy under your wing. The reason you needed my patient file. Those people who I've lived with for sixteen years aren't my parents, are they?
JAN: No.
JADE: So, you're...you're my mother.

DIMERA MANSION
ANDRE: You should know better by now, Chad.
Chad was about to say something, but out of the corner of his eye, he saw Tony edging towards André slowly, so he held his tongue.
ANDRE: Oh, what's the matter? Nothing to say? No last requests?
Tony kicked André in the back of the leg, then used the hilt of his sword to hit him on the head. He quickly let go of Chad and fell to the ground. Tony stood over him, his sword mere inches from his throat. André chuckled.
ANDRE: Do it.

Ooh I loved the scene between Jade and Jan! I wonder how their relationship will proceed and how Jan feels about Jade being her daughter.

I'm guessing Tony is too nice a guy to actually kill Andre.

I don't think that Tony will kill Andre. And even if he did, Rolf's lab is back up and running. Andre wouldn't stay dead very long.

I have mixed thoughts on Jade and Jan. I am surprised that Jade put all of the pieces together so quickly tho.

Chapter 249

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
JAN: It's not important right now.
JADE: I think it is! My whole life is starting to make sense now.
JAN: We have to go.
JADE: No. I'm not leaving until you tell me the truth.
JAN: Jade, listen to me, now is really not the time. I will tell you the truth, but not here and not right now.
JADE: Just tell me something. Who is my father? My real father, I mean. Hal Michaels couldn't give half a care about me, and the feeling's mutual.
JAN: Again, not the time. Now, we need to go! Now!
JADE: How about this, then? Is he alive?
JAN: No.
JADE: No, you're not going to tell me, or no he's not alive?
JAN: You can work that out for yourself once you figure out who he is. Now, come on!
Jade picked up her baby, and she and Jan walked out of the room.
JAN (thinking): Thank god she finally let it go for now. How the hell am I gonna tell her the truth? How do I tell my daughter what that creep Paul Mendez did to me in Puerto Rico all those years ago?

DIMERA MANSION
ANDRE: I'm glad to see that you haven't lost your touch in all these years.
TONY: Well, you and Stefano kept me on that damn island for years. I've had nothing but time to practice.
Tony dropped his sword. André chuckled.
ANDRE: You're making a fatal mistake, Tony.
André stood up. In the struggle, he had dropped his sword. He dusted himself off. He turned to Cassie, Rex, Anna and E.J., who had seen the entire thing. André went inside of his jacket pocket, and the lights suddenly went out. A moment later, they were back on. André was gone, as were the twins and E.J.
TONY: Dammit! He got away.
CHAD: He'll be back. I've gotten to know André since he returned a few years ago, and I know that he'll be back.
TONY: Oh, he will.
ANNA: Okay, does somebody want to catch me up on what the hell is going on here?
TONY: Well, it's fairly straight forward, my dear. A simple web of varying degrees of deciet. Steve Johnson, Roman Brady and John Black needed proof that E.J. was alive, proof that they could only get from going to Dr. Rolf's lab. So, they contacted me, and I gave them detailed instructions on what to do. We met at the Pier, however, I was under the guise of André, and Chad was pretending to be brainwashed.
ANNA: What about Cassie and Rex?
CHAD: Oh, they're really under André's spell. That was the one thing, we had to make it convincing enough for them to believe that I was really brainwashed and that Tony was really André.
TONY: Once they were in the lab, they quickly retrieved the information they needed. Of course, the plan was slightly derailed when the real André showed up. However, I was able to distract him with a duel long enough for our three guests to leave.
ANNA: So, you're really on our side, then?
CHAD: Of course. I may have spent a lot of time with André, but I would never really join that psycho. Plus, he's already tried to brainwash me once, when he first returned, and that didn't work. Looks like I'm immune now.
TONY: Which could come in very handy at some point.

Jan - how about for once in your life, you tell the truth about what happened.

Whew! I'm glad it was all a show and that Chad wasn't really brain-washed. I don't think there is an immunity to being brainwashed so they better stay on their toes. This could still be a part of Andre's plan. No surprise that Andre got away.

I can imagine how hard it would be to tell a child she was the product of a brutal rape. But Jade is going to find out anyway I'm sure.

I'm glad Chad wasn't really brainwashed. *whew*

ALICE SPRINGS REPTILE CENTER – ALICE SPRINGS, AUSTRALIA
The teens had spent most of the next day exploring Alice Springs, which was their next destination on the Australia trip. They were currently looking around a reptile exhibit.
NOELLE: You know, the real reptile is Ciara Brady.
Ciara took a deep breath.
CHASE: Don't do anything that'll get you in trouble.
CIARA: I won't.
Ciara walked over to Noelle.
CIARA: You have a problem, Noelle?
NOELLE: Just you. And I'm not the only one. Trix hates you, as well.
CIARA: Trix and I have talked. We're good. You're the only one that seems to have an issue with me.
NOELLE: Hey, it's not my fault that you come off as a...
CIARA: Betcha the end of that sentence isn't all that polite.
NOELLE: I don't really give a toss.
CIARA: Hang on a sec. I just thought of something.
NOELLE: Hope you didn't strain anything.
CIARA: You brought up Trix. You, specifically. There was no reason to.
NOELLE: Of course there is. We all know you rejected her.
CIARA: Are...are you jealous?
NOELLE: What?
CIARA: That's it, isn't it? You're jealous.
NOELLE: I dunno what you're on about. You've obviously been in the sun too long, you've gone daft.
CIARA: No, it makes sense. Like I said, there was no reason to bring Trix into the conversation, unless you're jealous that she had a crush on me.
NOELLE: But, I'm not.
CIARA: Hey, it's cool. I, personally, am not like that, but I have a cousin who is, and he's one of the coolest guys I know.
NOELLE: Yeah, that's really nice, but I'm not.
CIARA: Okay, then. What's the real reason you hate me?
NOELLE: You already know.
CIARA: No. I get that you were a little upset when you first came back, but I explained the situation. So did Claire and Chase. There's no reason to keep up this petty grudge you have against me, whatever it is. So, let's settle things. Right here, right now.
Noelle and Ciara stared each other down.
NOELLE: You're not worth it, anyway.
She turned and walked away, so did Ciara.
CLAIRE: Well, that went well.
CIARA: About as well as it was going to.
CHASE: Seriously, though, I really don't get what the issue with you two is.
CIARA: Maybe you should ask her. I don't have an issue, other than that she's been a jerk to all of us since she came back to America.
CLAIRE: Well, whatever it is, we should figure it out before it gets out of hand.

SAMI & LUCAS' APARTMENT
LUCAS: So, it actually worked?
Sami had filled in Lucas about the events of the previous evening.
SAMI: Yep. With any luck, my dad, Uncle Steve and John have all the information they need. Dad's having it processed this morning, he said he'd call me when he knows all of the details.
LUCAS: Is it true, though, what that Thomas Banks guy said?
Johnny had walked out of his room.
JOHNNY: What about Uncle Thomas?

I'd like to know what Noelle's problem is too. Though she seems to just be a bully.

I wonder what Lucas and Sami will say to Johnny.

I'm really getting tired of Noelle. This is all just to get attention. I think there is some jealousy in there. I hope that Noelle gets left behind.

I wonder what Johnny's reaction will be when he learns that EJ is alive.  I'd like to hope that it would get Johnny out of Andre's orbit, but I'm afraid that it will only make Johnny idolize Andre more.
