I'm curious as to what Trix is really like. I'm glad she is feeling comfortable in Salem, I guess, but I'm not sure yet if she's trustworthy.

So glad all of them have their guard up where Deimos is concerned. I hope Sonny's not easily duped by this. He seems to eager to want answers.

I'm still not comfortable with Trix. They are in high school and going on a trip - are they going to just let her away from the group to go to her mom's? And how much stuff is she supposed to bring back? Too much stuff could cause a problem with the group transport and possibly customs.

Interest that Deimos is late. I hope he's not planning on blowing up the Cheatin Heart so he can be the last Kiriakis standing (besides Victor).

Chapter 218

CHEATIN' HEART
The guys had all gotten drinks. Philip, Sonny and Justin had beers, Brady had a Sprite.
BRADY: Justin, you're the only one here who would be old enough to remember Deimos. What was he like before he went to prison.
Justin shook his head.
JUSTIN: Honestly, I don't really remember him that well. You have to remember, Deimos, or Alexandros as he was known at the time, grew up in Greece; whereas I grew up here. I only ever saw him on the rare occasions when my father or Uncle Vic would take us to Greece, or when Uncle Titus would come out here. And I was just a kid at the time.
PHILIP: So you don't recall anything?
JUSTIN: The only thing I remember is hearing Uncle Vic say that Deimos had been put in jail for murder. And by that time, I was busy with law school, so I had other things to concentrate on.
SONNY: That makes sense.
JUSTIN: There was also something about theft, I think.
BRADY: From what grandfather told me just before Deimos arrived, he was arrested for murdering his wife, and smuggling blood diamonds.
PHILIP: Apparently he had conned his wife into helping him, but she turned out to be a double agent, so he killed her.
SONNY: And the plot thickens.
Philip looked at his watch.
PHILIP: Half an hour. Sorry, guys, but I can't wait any longer. I've got about a dozen things that need to get done tonight, plus an early morning meeting tomorrow.
BRADY: No worries, dude. We'll see you later.
Philip left.
SONNY: I have to agree with Philip, this is getting pretty ridiculous.
A moment later, Deimos walked in.
DEIMOS: Sorry I'm late. Henderson got off his shift and I had to try to find the place myself.
Brady, Justin and Sonny gave each other a look.
DEIMOS: So, I count four of us. Where's Philip?
BRADY: He was here, but he had to leave a little while ago. Something about a meeting early in the morning.
Deimos nodded.
DEIMOS: I see.

PARK
Trix walked through the park. Ciara and Claire had long gone home. During the day, Trix had also met Joey and Chase. She was just heading back for home. Coming the other way was Jade, pushing her baby in a stroller. Jade stopped when she saw Trix.
JADE: So, you're the new girl?
TRIX: Yeah. I'm Trix.
JADE: Hm.
TRIX: Is that your baby?
JADE: Yep. That's my little Emmy.
TRIX: She's cute.
JADE: Thanks. But, just so you know, this whole nice foreign girl act isn't gonna work on me.
TRIX: Come again?
JADE: You may have everyone else fooled, but I can see right through you. You're gonna cause trouble on that trip. Though, how you even got on that trip is beyond me. I mean, you don't even go to Salem High yet.
TRIX: I'm going because I used to live there and I need to get my stuff from my mum, not that it's any of your business, by the way.
JADE: Whatever. Don't really care. Just watch out for yourself.
TRIX: Always do.
JADE: I mean around Joey.
TRIX: Eh?
JADE: Joey is mine. So, you'd better not try anything. Believe me, Aussie, I am not somebody you want to mess with.
TRIX: What is your problem? I only met Joey this arvo*. I'm definitely not interested in him.
JADE: Good. Then, we won't have a problem.
Jade walked away.

*NOTE: "Arvo" is Australian slang for afternoon.

Jade really is something else. For a second I thought she was going to accuse Trix of not really being Australian. I don't think messing with an Alamain is a good idea, and I can't wait to see what happens to her as a result.

Oh, Deimos, what are you really up to? That was a ridiculous excuse.

Wow. Deimos can't come up with a better excuse than that? I hope that Philip is headed home to find out exactly what Deimos was up to in that 30+ minutes that all of them were gone.

Chapter 219

HOPE & AIDEN'S HOUSE
Ciara was sitting on her bed. She was on Skype with Theo.
CIARA: Your dad really isn't gonna let you come?
THEO: I know! It sucks!
CIARA: It so does. I'm sorry, Theo.
THEO: Why? You didn't do anything.
CIARA: I know. I'm just bummed you don't get to come.
THEO: So am I. But, we can still Skype or FaceTime. I've actually been looking into the time zone difference between Salem and different parts of Australia. In most of the places you'll be staying, it'll be evening when I'm getting up at 7. Likewise, if you get up around 7 in the morning, which according to the chart you showed me, you will, it will be 4 in the afternoon here.
Ciara smiled.
CIARA: I'm glad you're keeping on top of all of this. I'm gonna miss you.
THEO: I'll miss you, too.
Theo looked at his watch.
THEO: I have to go. It's time for dinner.
CIARA: Yeah, and I need to put my laptop and charger in my bag and get to Salem High.
THEO: You'll text me when you get to Australia, right?
CIARA: Definitely! I'll talk to you then.
THEO: Bye.
CIARA: Bye.

O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Later that day, Mr. Woods, Trix and a group of students, which included Ciara, Claire, Chase, Joey and Noelle, had gathered in the airport. They were waiting at the gate.
WOODS: Good evening, everyone. Good to see you all again. I'm sure you're all very excited for our trip. Just make sure that, from this point forward, you stay in groups of no less than two. I do not want any wandering off, except during designated free times, which there will be plenty off. But, I cannot stress enough how important it is to stay with at least one other person. Don't get me wrong, the places we're staying in Australia are very safe, but it is still a different country, and I don't want to leave anybody there. We have about an hour until our flight begins boarding, so if you wish to get some food, you are free to do so. But, please, be back here by 7:30 so we can begin the boarding process. Thank you.
CIARA: You guys wanna get some food?
CLAIRE: Sure. You wanna come, Trix?
TRIX: Sure.
Chase, Trix, Claire and Ciara walked over to a nearby food court. After retrieving it, they sat down at a table.
CLAIRE: Okay, so, what are we most looking forward to about Australia?
CIARA: I'm just looking forward to being in a different country.
CHASE: Same here. Though, I am kind of curious about the food. Particularly vegemite.
TRIX: Now that is really good! Vegemite on toast is the best!
CLAIRE: And kangaroo. I really wanna try kangaroo.
CIARA: What's it like?
TRIX: It's a bit gamey, to be honest. I'm not really sure what you'd compare it to out here. You'll have to wait and see, I guess.
CLAIRE: Either way, this trip is gonna be amazing!

I'm so excited about this trip. I had to laugh at Mr. Woods saying he doesn't want to leave anyone in a foreign country. If Jade was coming I could think of someone I wouldn't mind getting lost. LOL

I'm glad Theo is taking it so well that he can't go. I hope he doesn't freak out if Ciara doesn't stick exactly to the schedule they talked about.

All of Mr. Woods's warnings struck me as a foreshadowing. Someone is going to wander off and get lost.

Poor Theo. I hate that he can't go.

I have a feeling that it will be Trix who causes someone to end up in trouble or to get left behind. Like heroicmuse, I wish Jade was going so that she could be that one person. It might not be a bad deal for Noelle to be either.

Chapter 220

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The group had made it to LAX and were now sitting near a gate there.
JOEY: Seriously? Four hours and we're only in L.A.?
TRIX: You think this is bad? Wait til we get on the next flight.
CIARA: I wonder why they always schedule these for late at night?
TRIX: You'll see.
Mr. Woods walked to the front of the group.
WOODS: All right, everyone. I hope you've all brought something comfortable to sleep on during the flight, because now begins the long part of our journey. By the time we get to Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne, it will be early Friday afternoon. Please get your boarding passes ready. We're supposed to begin boarding in the next few minutes.

SHAWN-D & BELLE'S HOUSE
Shawn-D and Belle were getting ready for bed.
BELLE: It seems so quiet in the house.
Shawn-D nodded.
SHAWN-D: First time we've had the house all to ourselves in sixteen years. I mean, yeah, she's slept over with friends and Ciara previously, but not for more than a night or two.
BELLE: Well, I'm sure they'll have fun. We did on our school trip.
SHAWN-D: Yep. Ah, Puerto Rico. Hopefully, their trip will be less eventful than ours.
BELLE: Come on, Shawn. It wasn't all bad.
SHAWN-D: No, it wasn't. It was beautiful. Except, you know, the part with Nicole's psycho father.
BELLE: And Jan Spears. Speaking of which, whatever happened to her?
SHAWN-D: I don't know. I guess she's laying low for a while. I haven't seen or heard from her since the reunion.
BELLE: That's not necessarily a good thing.
SHAWN-D: Oh, believe me, I know. When Jan's thinking up schemes, she's at her worst.
Shawn-D sat on the bed.
SHAWN-D: However, I do not wish to spend my first night without a kid in the house thinking about crazy Jan.
BELLE: Neither do I. You know what I do want to spend it thinking about?
SHAWN-D: What?
BELLE: My sexy husband.
SHAWN-D: Mm. I like the way you think, Mrs. Brady.
Belle pulled Shawn-D into a kiss, and the two laid down on the bed.

PLANE
The plane had taken off a few minutes ago. It was a large double-decker jet, with a lot of space between the seats. The tone sounded and the voice of the pilot came over the intercom.
PILOT (voice only): G'day ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Flight 192, with direct service from Los Angeles International Airport to Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. We're currently at our cruising altitude and expect clear skies for the foreseeable future. You're now clear to use all allowed electronic devices. Our estimated flight time today will be approximately 15 hours and 45 minutes, which should give us a landing time of 11:45 a.m. In a little bit, flight attendants will be coming through the plane to ask what you'd like for dinner. After we've given you all time to eat, we'll be dimming the lights so those of you who wish to can get some sleep. I'll be checking back in a little bit. For now, just sit back and enjoy the flight.
CIARA: Nearly 16 hours?
TRIX: Yep. I said the trip to LAX was nothing.

LOL The kids didn't know what they were getting into with this flight! I love all of their reactions. If Joey couldn't take a 4 hour flight I can't imagine what his reaction to this flight might be! I hope they all get some sleep and no one causes them any trouble on the plane.
