Chapter 190
SAMI & LUCAS' APARTMENT
It is now the next morning. Sydney and Allie were getting ready for school. Johnny had already left.
SAMI: Now remember, if you don't feel well, ask your teacher if you can go to the nurse. And, call me.
SYDNEY: I will, I promise.
Allie hugged Sydney.
ALLIE: You're gonna be okay, Syd.
SYDNEY: I know. Thanks, Allie. And, thanks for...well, you know.
ALLIE: No problem.
SAMI: Right, got everything?
Sydney nodded.
SAMI: Okay, let's go. Bye, sweetie.
ALLIE: Bye, mom.
Sami hugged Allie and kissed her forehead.
ALLIE: Bye, Sydney.
SYDNEY: Bye.
Sami and Sydney walked out.
LUCAS: We should get going in a few minutes, too.
ALLIE: Okay, I'll be ready in a sec.
LUCAS: Hey, thanks for helping with your sister last night and this morning.
ALLIE: Well, I know how she feels. Plus, she's my baby sister, I care about her.
LUCAS: Love you, kid.
ALLIE: Love you too, dad.
Allie and Lucas hugged.
ALLIE: Come on, I don't wanna be late for school.
LUCAS: All right, come on.
Lucas and Allie walked out.
TITAN
Philip walked into Titan. Marie, Philip's secretary, walked over to him and walked alongside him.
MARIE: Good morning, Mr. Kiriakis.
PHILIP: Morning, Marie. What've we got today?
MARIE: There's a board meeting in 10 with all of the heads of divisions. A phone interview for the new operations division at 1:30, and another at 3. After that, your only other appointment is at 6, Chez Rouge with Nicholas Alamain.
PHILIP: Not looking forward to that one. The others shouldn't be too bad, though. Any calls?
MARIE: Only your mother, to remind you that she won't be there to represent Countess Wilhelmina this morning.
PHILIP: Good to know.
MARIE: There's also a few papers to sign. I'll leave them on your desk. They don't need to be signed until after the meeting.
PHILIP: Thank you, Marie.
MARIE: No problem.
Marie walked away as Philip walked into one of the Titan board rooms.
PHILIP: Good morning, everybody.
BRADY PUB
Shawn-D had stopped by to have breakfast before making his way to work. Nicholas walked in.
NICHOLAS: Oh my, my.
Shawn-D stood up.
SHAWN-D: Nicky?
NICHOLAS: Shawn-D!
Shawn-D and Nicholas shook hands.
NICHOLAS: Good to see you, man!
SHAWN-D: You too! What's it been, ten, fifteen years?
NICHOLAS: Feels like twenty!
Both laughed.
SHAWN-D: What are you doing here?
NICHOLAS: I'm back. I'm moving back to town. Bringing the business back.
SHAWN-D: So, you're the head of Alamain Industries, huh?
NICHOLAS: Yep. How've you been?
SHAWN-D: Great. Married Belle Black, we have a daughter, Claire, who's in high school.
NICHOLAS: Ah, she's around my girl's age.
SHAWN-D: You have kids?
NICHOLAS: Just one, a girl. Trix. Short for Beatrix. She's in high school, as well. She's studying abroad this semester, but she'll be joining me here over the summer.
SHAWN-D: Ah, cool. That's a nice name.
Shawn-D looked at his watch.
SHAWN-D: Hey, dude, I'm sorry to run like this, but I gotta get to work.
NICHOLAS: No problem. We'll catch up later?
SHAWN-D: For sure.
Shawn-D and Nicholas shook hands again.
SHAWN-D: Good to see you again, man.
NICHOLAS: You too.
Shawn-D walked out.
