I'm glad Joey was clear. I don't trust Jade not to get herself in danger again on purpose to get his attention though.

Chapter 165

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
A little while later, Joey had gone home to finish his homework. Addie knocked on the door, and then came in to Jade's room.
ADDIE: Good afternoon, Jade. How are you feeling?
JADE: Pretty good. Anxious to get out of here.
ADDIE: Well, I have good news about that. I just want to do one more check of your vitals, then fill out a couple of forms, and then you're free to go.
JADE: Awesome!
Addie checked Jade's pulse, as well as all of ther other vitals, then wrote a few things down on a notepad.
ADDIE: I'd like you and Emerald to come back for a check up next week.
Jade nodded.
JADE: Okay.
Addie went into the closet, picked up a bag and put it on a nearby table.
ADDIE: Here are the clothes Dr. Brady brought in for you. I'll give you a few minutes.
JADE: Thanks. Do I get to see Emmy after that?
ADDIE: Certainly. I'll bring her by after I do one final check up on her.
JADE: Cool, thanks.
ADDIE: You're welcome. And congratulations.
Addie walked out of the room, and Jade began to change back into her normal clothes.

BRADY PUB
Several of the alumni from Salem High sat around a few tables, which had been pushed together. The people there were: Shawn-D, Belle, Chloe, Penny, Mimi, Susan and Kevin. Philip walked in a few minutes later.
PHILIP: Hey, guys. Sorry I'm late. Had to wrap up a business call at Titan.
BELLE: Well, you're here now, that's what matters.
SHAWN-D: Yeah, man. Come on, take a seat.
Philip pulled up a chair. Everyone placed their orders. After the waitress had gone to put them in, the group began talking.
PHILIP: So, am I going crazy, or did I see Jan Spears at the reunion last night?
KEVIN: No, unfortunately for all of us, Jan's back in town.
MIMI: Yeah. She finally came out of that coma.
PHILIP: But why come back here? I mean, what is it that she wants?
SUSAN: Probably to try to make our lives a living hell again. Or, at least, those of us who still live in Salem.
BELLE: Well, whatever she wants, we'll be waiting.
CHLOE: And even if she does, you guys are all really strong.
PENNY: Well, we had some pretty great friends help us with that.
BELLE: Yeah, I loved our class.
SHAWN-D: We all did.
KEVIN: So, Philip, how is Titan?
PHILIP: Good. Great, actually. How's Apple?
KEVIN: Excellent.
Rex and Cassie walked into the Pub. Mimi stood up. She and Rex locked eyes.
MIMI: Excuse me.
Mimi got up from the table and walked over to the twins.
MIMI: Rex.
REX: Mimi.

OUTSIDE THE KIRIAKIS MANSION
T.K. walked up to the ftront of the mansion. His cell phone rang.
T.K.: Hello? Yeah, I was just about to go in and see him. No, I don't think so. I'm not sure. Why? Is there something you want me to tell him? Okay. What is it?

Intrigue! Is Lauren giving TK orders, and if so, what are they?

Jade and Emerald! Gemstone names. Nice tie-in, André DiMera.

Sounds like Kevin is a big wheel at Apple. I always wanted to see Kevin and Mimi get together. I hope Rex's arrival doesn't derail any potential.

I loved the scene between the Last Blasters. I can't wait to see what will happen with Mimi and Rex.

I don't trust Jade not to do some scheming to get Joey now that she's out of the hospital.

SALEM COUNTY JAIL
Victor sat in the visitation room. Across the table from him was Deimos.
VICTOR: I assume the discussion with your father went as poorly as mine.
DEIMOS: Well, I'm used to being a source of constant disappointment to the man, so I'm not terribly bothered. What I am wondering, Uncle Vic, is why I'm here. Not that I mind, of course. This is much nicer than that...for lack of a better term, torture chamber that father put me in.
VICTOR: I'm going to be giving you a second chance, Δείμος. A chance to be a proper Κυριακής. A chance that your father never bothered to give you.
DEIMOS: Why do you care?
VICTOR: We're family. I take care of family. I pulled some strings, got your sentence reduced, and got you commuted out here. But once I am out, you're under my supervision.
DEIMOS: Uncle Vic, I'm practically Justin's age. I don't need a babysitter.
VICTOR: You would rather return to Φυλακές Κορυδαλλού (Korydallos Prison)?
DEIMOS: Point taken. You were saying?
VICTOR: I was saying that you'll be under my constant supervision. And you better make sure you're a good learner. I will watch you like a hawk.
DEIMOS: And in return for this, what do I get?
VICTOR: A second chance at a life. And a damn better one that my younger brother ever gave you.
DEIMOS: All right. So, when do I get out?

BRADY PUB
Mimi and Rex locked eyes.
REX: Mimi.
MIMI: Rex.
REX: Excuse me.
Rex turned to walk out.
MIMI: Rex.
CASSIE: Rex, come on.
Mimi followed Cassie and Rex outside.
MIMI: Rex Brady, stop trying to walk away, and turn around and talk to me!
Rex did stop and turn around.
REX: I'm not a Brady. I'm a DiMera.
MIMI: I don't care what your last name is, we need to talk.
REX: No. We don't. We have nothing to discuss. Goodbye.
Rex turned around and walked away.
MIMI: What's up with him?
CASSIE: It's been a long time. Rex...he has issues with some of the things that happened in our past. I really have no idea what happened between the two of you when we left Salem. Honestly, I only went because he did, and every time I tried to bring it up, he wouldn't talk about it. So, whatever this is, he's obviously not over it yet.
MIMI: I can tell.
CASSIE: I'll try and get him to talk again, but no promises.
MIMI: Thanks.
CASSIE: See ya.
MIMI: Bye.
Cassie walked away to find Rex. Mimi walked back inside.
BELLE: Everything okay?
MIMI: I don't know. Rex was acting kind of strange. I know we didn't leave on great terms, but it seems like more than just that. And I intend to find out why.

OUTSIDE THE KIRIAKIS MANSION
T.K.: Yes, I understand. Of course, I mean, he already knows about me. What if he wants to talk to you? Okay, but I don't think that's gonna work. Wait, what? I thought we agreed you wouldn't come until I was absolutely sure...you're already here?

SALEM INN
Jan Spears was on her phone.
JAN: That's right, kid. I'm back in Salem, this time to stay.

Well that was a twist! OMG Jan! How did she end up involved with TK??? And what is her plan?

I'm glad Mimi realizes something is up with Rex. I wonder what she's going to do about it.
