Chapter 146

KIRIAKIS MANSION
Victor was sitting in his chair, reading the newspaper. His cell phone went off. He picked it up.
VICTOR: Yes? What? When? I see. I'll take care of it.
Victor hung up, but instantly starting dialing another number and shook his head.
VICTOR: The things I do to clean up my family's messes.

TITAN – ATHENS, GREECE
Similar to the Titan building in Salem, but with a more Greek flourish, with several paintings and Greek architecture. A woman walked into an office.
WOMAN: Mr. Kiriakis, your brother is on the phone.
The chair in the center of the office swung around to reveal Titus Kiriakis, Victor's brother. Titus looked similar to Victor in many respects, but was about five years younger.
TITUS: Very good. Leave us.
The woman handed Titus the phone, then nodded and walked out.
TITUS: Victor! To what do I owe this pleasure?

KIRIAKIS MANSION
VICTOR: Τίτος (Titus), we need to meet. We have to discuss that out of control son of yours.

TEEN CENTER
Chase and Noelle were going over a scene.
NOELLE: John, I am waitin' for you every night.
CHASE: Abby, I never give you hope to wait for me.
NOELLE: I have something better than hope, I think!
CHASE: Abby, you'll put it out of mind. I'll not be comin' for you more.
NOELLE: You're surely sportin' with me.
CHASE: You know me better.
NOELLE: I know you clutched my back behind your house and sweated like a stallion whenever I come near! Or did I dream that? It's she put me out, you cannot pretend it were you. I saw your face when she put me out, and you loved me then and you do now!
CHASE: Abby, that's a wild thing to say-
NOELLE: A wild thing may say wild things. But not so wild, I think. I have seen you since she put me out; I have seen you nights.
CHASE: I have hardly stepped off my farm this sevenmonth.
NOELLE: I have a sense for heat, John, and yours has drawn me to my window, and I have seen you looking up, burning in your loneliness. Do you tell me you've never looked up at my window?
CHASE: I may have looked up.
NOELLE: And you must. You are no wintry man. I know you, John. I know you. I cannot sleep for dreamin'; I cannot dream but I wake and walk about the house as though I'd find you comin' through some door.
Noelle put a hand on Chase's shirt. Chase quickly took it off.
CHASE: Child-
NOELLE: How do you call me child!
CHASE: Abby, I may think of you softly from time to time. But I will cut off my hand before I'll ever reach for you again. Wipe it out of mind. We never touched, Abby.
NOELLE: Aye, but we did.
Noelle kissed Chase. Chase pulled back immediately stopped Noelle. Claire walked into the room at that moment.
CHASE: Noelle, what the hell are you doing?

I knew it. Noelle was gonna make a move. I hope Claire doesn't misinterpret the situation.

Interesting to see what Victor is going to do.

So good to see Victor, especially when he is cleaning up his family's messes, or thinks he's supposed to. I love that Titus is in this!

TEEN CENTER
NOELLE: Well, that's not exactly the line, but I'll go with it.
Noelle went in for another kiss, but Chase blocked her.
CHASE: Noelle, stop it.
NOELLE: Come on. You know you want to.
CLAIRE: I don't think so.
Claire walked over to the two of them.
CHASE: Claire...
CLAIRE: I believe my boyfriend told you to stop. Now, I suggest you take his advice. I do not want to cause a scene, but I am also not going to let you do anything to him, either.
NOELLE: Oh, whatever. Chase wanted it.
CLAIRE: Noelle, back off!
Noelle looked from Claire to Chase.
NOELLE: Are you really gonna let her talk to me like this?
CHASE: Noelle, I think it's time that you leave.
Again, she looked from Chase to Claire.
NOELLE: Whatever. Sod you two, anyway.
Noelle turned and walked away. Chase turned to Claire.
CHASE: Claire, I am so sorry. I had no idea she was gonna do that.
CLAIRE: What are you apologizing for? I saw the whole thing. I know she kissed you, not the other way around.
CHASE: So...you're not mad?
CLAIRE: I'm mad at Noelle. But not at you. Chase, I know you wouldn't hurt me like that. You're way too nice to do that. But what about you? Are you okay?
CHASE: Yeah, I'm fine.
CLAIRE: Good. Now, can we just go for a walk, or something?
CHASE: Sure. Come on.
Chase put his arm around Claire, and the two walked out of the building.

JOHNSON HOME
Joey came down the stairs. Steve and Kayla were sitting on the couch.
JOEY: Hey, have either of you guys seen Jade? She's not in her room.
STEVE: Nah, little dude. We thought she came home with you.
JOEY: She didn't, though. I assume she just had to go to the nurse's office. She said her stomach wasn't feeling well earlier.
KAYLA: Have you tried texting or calling her?
JOEY: Yep. No response. I'm just concerned because of the baby, you know?
STEVE: Yeah. I know what you mean.
KAYLA: Joey, when was the last time you saw her?
JOEY: Our last class of the day. She did have to stay behind for a minute to talk to the new substitute teacher.
STEVE: New teacher? Which one's that?
JOEY: Miss Harp. Mila Harp.
Steve and Kayla looked at each other.
STEVE: What does she look like?
JOEY: She's...I don't know. She's about Sami's age. Actually, she looks kinda like Sami, but she's got brown hair and her face is more pointed.
STEVE: Right. Well, I'll go take a look for her.
KAYLA: Excuse me, I think you mean we'll go look for her.
STEVE: That is exactly what I meant, sweetness.
Steve and Kayla kissed. Both got up and got their coats on.
JOEY: Great. I'll come with you. We can finally do an investigation as a family.
KAYLA: Joey, no. We need you to stay here.
JOEY: Whatt? You're kidding me, right?
STEVE: Joe, listen to your momma. You gotta stay here in case Jade comes back. It's entirely possible that she just went for a walk. We're just gonna make sure that's all she's doing.
JOEY: Okay, whatever.
KAYLA: We'll be back soon.
Steve and Kayla left.
JOEY: Well, no way in hell am I gonna just stay here and let you two have all the fun.
Joey got his coat and went out the back door.

I'm glad to see Steve and Kayla working together instead of Kayla suddenly forgetting that Steve is a detective like on the show! Joey not listening is not going to bode well for him I don't think.

I'm glad Claire knew what was what. Noelle needs to learn that she can't just go around kissing people who don't want it.

Kpatch, "sod this" is a more polite way of saying "f*** this". People from the UK use it when they don't actually want to swear.

Chapter 148

PIER
The three Johnsons had been out searching all night. The next day was Saturday, so Joey didn't have school. One of the few places he hadn't looked was the Pier. He was just looking in one of the crates, when he heard a voice behind him.
EREBUS: You there.
Joey turned around.
EREBUS: Ah, it is you.
JOEY: Who are you?
EREBUS: You may call me Erebus.
JOEY: Seriously?
EREBUS: Very. Now, you're coming with me.
Erebus grabbed Joey by the neck of his jacket.
JOEY: Get off me, man!
Joey struggled, by Erebus quickly overpowered him. They walked off together, Joey still struggling.

TITAN BOARD ROOM – ATHENS, GREECE
Victor had been flown into Greece on the Titan jet overnight. He was now sitting in the board room of his younger brother's division of Titan. After a few minutes, Titus walked into the room.
TITUS: Victor.
VICTOR: Τίτος.
Victor stood. He and his brother shook hands.
VICTOR: I appreciate you arranging to meet with me so quickly.
TITUS: For family, I will do anything. It is good to see you, my brother. Tell me, how is the Salem branch of Titan doing?
VICTOR: The main branch is doing quite well.
Titus chuckled.
TITUS: Victor, you flatter yourself on thinking that yours is the main branch. Our πατέρας (father) started this company in Greece. It is a Greek company. Therefore, it is this branch that is the main one.
VICTOR: Keep thinking those delusions if you wish, brother. I didn't come here to argue who's got a bigger company. I'm here on a family matter.
TITUS: Of course. I assume you heard about the incident with Αλέξανδρος (Alexandros).
VICTOR: From what I hear, he has abandoned his first name and now goes by Deimos.
TITUS: I know my own son's name, Victor!
VICTOR: I am well aware. And yes, I heard about the incident with your son. Good god, man. Your son is totally out of control. What the hell have you been doing raising a son like that? He's disgracing the Κυριακής name.
Titus' face suddenly became very serious.
TITUS: I wouldn't be so quick to talk about my son like that if I were you, Victor.

SALEM INN
There was a knock at the door. Nyx opened it, and Erebus, still holding Joey by the neck of his jacket, walked in.
JADE: Joey!
Erebus pushed Joey onto the bed. Jade ran over to Joey and threw her arms around him.
JADE: Joey, I am so, so sorry!
JOEY: They will be soon.
EREBUS: Oh, I don't think so. Now that we have the both of you, we'll be able to get your parents.
JOEY: Wait, this is about my parents? What about them?
NYX: We have something to...discuss with them.
JOEY: What?
EREBUS: Never you mind.
NYX: My shift is over. They're your responsibility now.
Nyx walked out. Joey looked at Jade.
JOEY (whispering): Did they hurt you?
Jade shook her head.
JADE (whispering): They just scared me.
JOEY (whispering): Don't worry. We're gonna find a way out of this, I promise.
EREBUS: Oh, I very much doubt it, young Johnson. Once your parents get here, the real fun begins.

ARGH! I knew Joey was going to get himself into some kind of trouble. I hope he and Jade escape.

Victor vs. Titus should be interesting. It's ironic that Xander did the same thing Theresa did, by using his middle name to distance himself from his family.
